Love this video. He plays perfectly. I learned the pentatonic scale by ear and probably learned backward. I had a fender Stratocaster and Gretsch Hollowbody before I had to sell them to pay rent. My roommates in college were an Alman Brothers cover band. My roommate let me play his G&L which turned me on to playing guitar. I love playing guitar. 4 hours can go by and I won't even notice. This is one of my favorite songs. Ill buy a new guitar again and watch this 300x until its perfect.

It seems like Gilmour is using a different shape to play a major chord and yours is barring it. I wondered if you did it differently for some reason or am I wrong altogether. Also, what strings and what gauge are you using? Does it take something really light to make all those bends? You seem effortless on them.
Thank you Richard. That is an interesting observation, I had a re-listen to the original and then to mine, and tone-wise I can not hear much difference. I haven't looked at what he is doing live, or not paid attention to it at least. I did it because it sounded similar. :) I am guessing these were .010 -.046, those I use almost all the time. It helps having light strings, but I would not say really light is needed. I have played with .009s and it was just too unstable as 'overshooting' is now much easier. Also the sound seems a bit thinner, which I do not like. I would not try to do this with .011s or thicker, to spare my fingers. But I guess after a bit of playing it could be possible. Thanks again!
