What better way to introduce my latest addition to my collection of guitars than a Pink Floyd cover?!
Taken from the album 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' I've decided to redo this cover of On the Turning Away, now with a Fender with whammy bar.
Sound, just from Logic Pro X (Preset called 'Arena Ready' which I modified a bit).

This solo seems to be a lot more complicated than I would have thought. You handled it well. Respect!
For some reason Gilmour's solos are very naturally to me. But I'd say his late 80s work is on the rather technical side, never leaving the emotional side of course! :)
OUTSTANDING !!!! Smashed me in the feels ..To nail Dave Gilmours style you have to feel it, it won't work any other way and you then have to have the ability to transition from slow bends to incredible speed still feeling the notes you hit ,that's what keeps you in tune .....You have got all of this Santosh ..best of luck ...blown away ..you are an incredible guitar player sir!

Thank you very much! You're lucky to have seen him in his guitar high days. The funny thing is, it's his natural way of playing, which others have to replicate in order to sound convincing and thus requiring a lot more effort. The same with Mark Knopfler, whose style is even more distinct I think. The fact that it's his natural way of playing still dazzles me at times, so precise, articulated and clean.

Yes, indeed! The best performance by far. And I have watch all UA-cam covers of this song xD. If I may complain about something is that the tone could be improved. You should check Francesco Carpentieri channel (ua-cam.com/channels/Hrr3aa2Wteska76DY3S3ZQ.html), who I think has accomplished the closest David Gilmour's tone (Francesco has based his setup and gear following gilmourish.com tips, but has take it even furder and better). Back here for this excellent guitar playing ,great work Santosh .I read in the comments you say you are only copying Mr Dave Gilmours masterwork .... but there is much more going on here ,you are tuned into his world and not many musicians can dream or have the ability to get close to what you have achieved . As i said before "To nail Dave Gilmours style you have to feel it, it won't work any other way " It is an incredible cover of his solo and i still think it will remain the best one i've seen!

I used to jam pink floyd with my dad when i was a kid. This song reminds me of him. Those solo notes are like no other. Spot on Santosh. Its a slightly different sound when played at home but it makes a lot of difference when you hear the studio version one too many times. Keep it up brother, youre fuckin awesome

It was my dad who introduced me to Pink Floyd, so listening to Pink Floyd reminds me of the time my dad was telling me the story of 'The Hobbit' over a classical version of 'Dark Side of the Moon', performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Those were good times. :)
The studio version is top notch Gilmour. It's such an underrated solo as it's full of small details, amazing whammy bar actions, incredible bends.. Thanks, you too! :)

I have an American standard Eric Clapton strat,Mesa amp, ME-70 Boss multi effects pedal.The sound you have is amazingly similar to the recording. The sound is purely a Logic Pro X preset ('Arena Ready') that I modified a bit. Modified by the means of EQ, Reverb, Delay and not much more.
I am under the believe that the player's fingers contribute way more to the sound than is accepted by many. There are arguments for and against this statement, but it is a statement I believe to be true. :)
