man I was I was 15 years old this is one of the first albums that I bought when I was a baby Christian I had just gotten born again at 3:12 South Salina Street in Syracuse New York Saturday April 10th 1976 I cannot forget this song along with the one by Christine workson Jesus is the sunshine of my soul I can never forget these songs because yoe sure how much
and the song by Christine Watson Jesus is the sunshine and my soul Jesus found me In 1976 I was 15 years old I'm 60 years old now and the group that I was in from the Jesus movement the Church of Bible Understanding was mixed all Races every race Under the Sun was in this group that's the reason why I never became a black racist like so many people I know hell bound bound to Hell totally deceived because of hatred but because Jesus found me at the tender age of 15 he kept that poison from entering into my heart I know that all men black white yellow brown red are all alike
A Facebook friend who knew him just told me he passed. His music was so important when I first got saved in 1980. His ministry will be missed, but I expect he is already experiencing "joy by surprise" today waking up in the arms of Jesus.
_Joy by Surprise_ is, of course, the title of a book by C.S. Lewis in which he wrote: "I sometimes wonder whether all pleasures are not substitutes for joy."
I was given a cassette tape in 1978 containing Bob's two first albums. I have enjoyed his music every since. He is a true brother in Christ, and humble servant.
We saw Bob Ayala in a concert at a church in San Jose in the late '70's. This song, and "Do You Know Him?" I really like. A person with a guitar, or keyboard, (Keith Green), beats all these Digitalized songs with too much loud musical instruments in them.
Listened to this constantly as a teen. It still reaches into my heart.
Heard this playing in a book store many years ago and told the clerk I had to have the album--- Joy by Surprise. I treasure it!! R I P Bob.
I agree - I just loved this song when I heard it on the radio back in the day!
His songs are embedded into my spirit.
"Do You Know Him?" - Love these songs!

I did not know he passed! Bob Ayala thrilled my heart in 1977 after I became born again!
