- We've had a very easy winter here in the Utica NY area, including many days
without any snow cover at all. That all changed, however, a few days before this video was made as a few storms brought a return to seasonal normalcy hereabouts. This video features a look at Adirondack Railroad's Feb 17, 2024 "Cabin Fever Limited," a 42-mile roundtrip between Utica-Remsen NY.
Thanks to Conductor Bill Moll and Engineer DeAndre Walters for their participation. Also, of course, the assistance of my canine bud, Witold, in the making of this video is also gratefully acknowledged!
Train sounds great. love hearing it. Stepped out of Utica area for a day to go near Albany. What a difference in snow. Barely anything there. We got a winter finally. 🙂 Thank you for this video.
Love seeing those old CN MLWs still running
That is the best air horn in railroading!! SP, NP, IC, GBW used those, great sound.
It's good to see the old girl looking happy & healthy in the snow. The next time you see 3573, give her regards from the boys (past & present) at Port Delaware...
👏👏👏loved Witold just being nonchalant lol. Sure was pretty with the train coming and the waterfall. Thanks for sharing
Great to see this former CN/Maine Eastern/Morris Town & Erie still running under the new Green paint scheme!!! I loved it between Rockland and Brunswick Maine when here in Maine!!!
Witold, my Chihuahua Peanut says "Hi." Cheers from Wisconsin!
Another great video from Okeechobee Florida.
The Dog is Thinking: OK, The Train passed by, Can We go back inside now?
I'd should have known those foot tracks by the falls were yours!!! Saw them tonight as I did my rounds checking RDS! For the town of Trenton! Be well and safe my friend!!!
Witold says "never mind the marshmellows, I'll have a hotdog, please"
You got that right!
Brilliant.Love the dog.
Nice, thanks!
Thanks for seeing Trains in the Snow. I imagine running is on a Weekend only, at this time of year? Witold looks more enthusiastic than usual - out in the snow.
Very pretty!!
I was born in Franklin County NY 1953. My great uncle and aunts house was at Lake Clear Junction right next to Charlie’s Inn. The depot is still there, and of course the tracks are all gone. When visiting there in the summers, I would walk the tracks. I was probably about 14 years old I met an elderly man by the name of George Newman, lived down the railroad tracks. He told me about having been a railroad engineer and he gave me a book called Railroad engineers, manual written in the late 1800s. I also remember as a very young child, looking out the window of my aunt and uncles house, and seeing passengers in the windows of the passenger cars. Now retired in North Idaho.
Very interesting comment, thanks for posting!
Another good video.
Great video!
Rambler I plow for Town of Lee Highway department and that snow was so bad early Friday morning we were down to 10 mph. Nothing better than trains in snow. Thanks for getting out there and braving the snow. Stay safe!
Awesome video! Cheers mate!
Amazing video
The flanger was up in Boonville Friday- I wondered why it needed to come through!
I never tire of hearing the chant of that Alco 251 prime mover.. especially the close ups...Thanks for the memories...
Bom vídeo 👏👏
Thanks to you and Witold for braving the elements and bringing us another great video!
Ah Remsen. Lots of hills and woods. A-yup, looks like they got belted a bit with snow! A fine video, loved the train views. You and Witold best be careful, or you'll catch your death of cold! Thank you for taking time to film and share the video! Watching from Rome NY.
Another great video from the Rambler. I'll pass it on to my guys here in North Carolina. Very mild winter so far in these parts.
Hi from Arizona, Hi Witold, liking the snow. Brrrr, cold air up there. Like the video, as always, enjoyable. Thank you
Lovely images with trains in snow! Great video 👍👍👍😉
Good to hear from you and to watch another video with you and Witold. Your videos are wonderful, always happy to see one get posted. From central Ohio, Steve and Valerie. Keep warm and safe! 🙏❤️
Great hearing from you again! Witold was chomping at the bit to do a little winter railfanning, how could I disappoint him? lol
Nice shot of the Remsen High falls on the Cincinnati Creek site of the former Remsen Mills built right over the water. on the west side. 6:47, and sadly now just the foundation.
At first what looked like a black cover for the microphone suddenly moved it's like oh it's our favorite Trackside dog Witold. It looks like the crowd is having a good day watching the snow-covered Hills and trees Roll by from the comfort of a passenger train pulled by a fine Alco. Very nice run by at the waterfall and the Witold statue
Your pooch looks like he's got a good winter coat of fur :). Thanks for another rustic winter rail video.
A fantastic winter railway video and always with your loyal friend Witoldt. Many greetings from spring in Germany
Very nice. Good to see some snow. New subscriber.
