- The "old one-two"? No boxing here; rather, a double-feature of railroading! This video features views of New York, Susquehanna & Western's March 14 2024 Utica NY branch local along with a look at Adirondack Railroad's March 17th Cabin Fever Limited at Owens Road, Trenton NY.
March 9th's Adirondack RR video referenced in this video:

As always, the assistance of Witold, my canine bud, in the making of this video is gratefully acknowledged.
In all your videos, this, I think, is the first time I has seen Witold wag his tail. We will all sleep easier tonight.
As will I, lol. Nice to hear from you!
Hi, Looking in from North Yorkshire, England.
I think it would be pretty cool to just sit on yer front porch and watch a train roll by!
Hey rail rambler awesome trains . Wish Lincoln Davis would use rail service. Always fun watching trains run scyler St 🚂
I was having conversation with 2 other guys near my 65 years about the line that came from Herkimer and the spurs that branched off near Prospect one that came from the quarry , one that went to
Hinckley and another branch into Remsen behind the water tank near Remsen station. It would make for some good history lessons using some video, pictures of maps, former industries that depended on the trains.
Grew up outside of Albany NY
Always a pleasure when one of your videos pops up on my playlist... And this one was no exception. Outstanding coverage of the local work train. You were all over that one.. Nice touch with the one-two punch on the sight seer. Loved this video !!
Wow, that train shot made me nervous - looked like you were going to lose your driver side door!
Hello from Tonawanda NY!
3:44 Watch for motorcycles. 🙄
I havent looked but is the Adirondack Scenic RR offering day trip to Old Forge for The Eclipse?
Yes, sold out. I hear 360 passengers.
It's always fascinating, this train ride through the city. This train chase was beautifully filmed and interesting film locations. It's great that your dog is always there. Many greetings from Germany.
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for commenting!
It's so relaxing for me to watch these railroading videos. My mind goes back to the good old days when I was a little kid, and Fay Street had some street running too. Thank you so much!
The tracks on Fay Street survived until the early 1980’s. I hear the Susquehanna (which acquired the Utica line in ‘82) spotted one car at the Fay St Warehouse before the tracks were abandoned on that spur. Of course, the O&W used the Fay St tracks to get to their freighthouse near Union Station but those tracks were lifted in 1957 leaving just the tracks to the warehouse intact.
Watching from Central Ohio. Another great video. Happy Spring and Happy Easter!
Thanks as always from Austin, Rambler. Witold, old dirt roads, streams with waterfalls, campfires... make it a fun watch.
Nice
A hello from sunny north Carolina. Great video😊
Hey Howard, may I ask what part of N.C. I’m in Conover
From Durham nc
Hey, NC people, I am in Greensboro!
I’m from NC, too! Grew up in NE NJ.
I’m near Wilmington NC.
There seem to be more cars in this train than seen in RR Rambler videos of a few months ago. Is this a trend?
Not unusual to have this many cars. However, traffic spikes each spring with more traffic carrying fertilizer heading to Sangerfield to the big mills; trains can get up to 20+ cars then. Another locomotive is brought on the branch each spring to help haul the increased tonnage up Paris Hill’s miles-long 1.8% grade. This year it’ll be CSX 2722 helping 3040 with the workload.
As always, GREAT VIDEO!!!!
I agree 💯
A "Good Boy!" to Witold from Menasha, Wisconsin. And Peanut the Chihuahua says "Hi" as well. Cheers!
Hi Witold & Railroad Rambler, glad to see you both. Enjoying the video today, thank you.

Oh how I remember the old days. Brings back memories...great video !
Wow! At the end it seems we are watching rain turn to snow. Thanks for these videos.
The NYSW does not go south from Utica to Binghamton any more, do they? If this is true doesn't this mean that their Utica division is essentially cut off from the rest of the NYSW network?
Hi there. Unfortunately no they don't go south from sangerfeild . Tracks are still in place just out of service. They do run a test train maybe once a year from Binghamton to Utica to check on track conditions. Last time was December of 2023
A train that close would make me very very nervous
2) Did Clayville have a foundry at one time, or was that Cassville?
