ppl often get misunderstood with older lady scene,
where she didn't run away from zombies.
what she did, was in fact sacrificing herself,
so others (Su-An and others) can go thru the corridor away from zombies.

Baseball kid (Choi Woo Sik) was indeed in Parasite. He is a fantastic actor, starring in stuff like The Witch. Korean actors are something else....the baby girl, Gong Yoo, Ma Dong Suk (the buff dad) and the evil CEO put out stellar performances. This movie is a gem. One of the best horror movies out there. I hope the new series (All of Us are Dead) will continue the undefeated streak of South Korean Zombie shows :P Seriously, I am happy that Korean shows are FINALLY getting attention. Squid Game and Parasite are only one of many. I hope you check out more Korean gems, so more people can see. :) I highly recommend My Mister or Mr. Sunshine.

I'm really looking forward to AOUAD too, hopefully it's on par with Kingdom.
Definitely seconding My Mister, it's my favorite kdrama. She could also check out Goblin to see a very different Gong Yoo plus it has Lee Dong Wook and the best bromance in kdrama.

Gong Yoo plays in my all time favorite K-Drama as the main character. The drama is called "Goblin" or "Guardian: The Great and lonely God" it is a supernatural/fantasy, a romantic comedy. With a very sad premise. A Goblin who is cursed with immortal life is looking for the fated "Goblin's Bride" who is the only one who can end his painful existence.

a little fun tidbit about the girl paired with Choi Woo Sik (baseball dude who also starred in Parasite). Her name's Ahn So Hee. She used to be a part of a kpop group called the Wonder Girls. Sometime in 2008, they released a song called Nobody that, in 2000s standards, became a global sensation. They also once toured with the Jonas Brothers at one point. Sometime in 2013, she left the group and kinda did her own thing and pursued acting :)

Unlike other zombie movies this movie focuses on it's character and how they react to a zombie outbreak the most human way. With all emotions from greed/selfishness to sacrifice and kindness. We dont get a generic "good" guy protag trying to save his family and the world. Instead we get a very human father trying his best to keep his daughter safe while slowly maturing past his greedy and selfish past.

Back when "Parasite" was in the theaters, "Train To Busan" came up as a UA-cam recommendation. I've found South Korean movies to be solid and dramatic works of Art from "Memories of Murder" (2003) to "Tae Guk Gi" (2004). I HATE Zombie movies, but when the Deer got back up, I was hooked. The roller coaster ride through Fear/Dread/Anger/Sorrow left me emotionally drained. But if a naive viewer "gets on the train," so do I. Kudos to the writer, director, actors, and especially the stunt performers for creating a modern classic.;) I saw the first episode of "Squid Game" and passed on the rest. Not a fan of "Battle Royale" or "Saw" movies.

    The little girl actress. Phenominal.
Really made you believe she was losing her dad. The fact she didn't win an acting award is just another case that proves awards are total bs.
They did a good job making the selfish dude be the villain more than the zombies. Literally no one says "die already" to the zombies. Everyone seeing the selfish dude says "die already."

One of my favorite characters in this masterpiece.
(Fave together with the big guy who is the MVP, the teenagers, the main character father & daughter, the professional conductor :(, the pregnant woman, and the old woman who opened the door for those selfish ppl to become a meal lol, and her sister. All of the main I mean XDDD)

Ooo..if you liked this, you'll love the drama Sweet Home! It's a Kdrama virus/zombie series with 10 episodes. Available on Netflix too.
My first recommendation would have to be Hotel Del Luna. It's about a 1000 yrs old soul who went in search of punishment after she committed a great sin. As punishment, the Gods made her the owner of Hotel Del Luna, where she has to take care of the souls of the dead until they feel she's ready to move on. (Kind of like Davy Jones) Everything about this series is fantastic. The main leads are so beautiful and her wardrobe is to die for. It's one of the most beautiful super natural series I've seen. And I still have serious second lead syndrome. 😭😍😭

There's no doubt the kid is the heart of the movie. If it wasn't for her and the caring family's wise words, the father would've remained just the way he was like that creep. This is my most personal favourite Zombie movies of all time and definitely a masterpiece. The mother, father = Apex of all Zombie Apocalyptic movies. Plus not a day goes by that I can't stop crying at the very end of the movie.
My personal rating of the movie 9.99999999 stars because of one complain

I'm super excited for more of your reactions Alana ♥️♥️♥️😎

If you want to watch a movie instead of a long drama, I recommend Hello August, Along with the gods and The Roundup

If you want to see baseball guy in another great thriller movie, but as a villain, check out the awkwardly titled "The Witch part one: Subversion". If you want to see him in a new rom-com series check out the Netflix series 'Our Beloved Summer' - with the actress from 'The Witch', again.
