@@starrymilkyway3398 it happened to me too when I first started playing. Now my friend is trying the game and even though I hate healing, I'm doing the dungeons with her as a healer and I make sure to stay outside the boss area until she finishes watching the cutscene xd so far no one has pulled the boss early thanks to that.
I had a guy leave the party because he thought my pace was too slow. I was the tank. The reason why I was going slow was that the healer was having trouble keeping up with the damage when I would pull large groups. I don't like being a dick to healers.
Had this happen today in fact~ As a tank always ask how the healers feel about big pulls as you never know. But really their is no point to que with random people only to behave like that when its not to your liking. Hell even if your a dps and you think its slow you can always request a double pull but don't expect it.
@@nickjean3350 Yeah anytime I am tanking my first thing to do is ask the healer "How big a pull are you OK with me doing" and if they say go for it then I will do it otherwise I go with what the healer can handle
That's what a proper tank should do. Patient and helpful tanks almost always get my commendations....unless I give it to the healer for being so open to learning what might work better from other people. Wish I could give out more than one. As a DPS I stand in awe of all the great tanks and healers out there. /bow
*Cutscene starts* "The Boss room will be sealed in 15 seconds." I watch the cutscene to the end and just stand outside the barrier. "Not being able to watch my Cutscene in peace is unfortunate, huh?" - "Too bad i am the healer, your deaths will be unfurtunate too, huh?" While looking on with my dead lala eyes.
I had someone pull ahead of a sprout in a really major cutscene. And I got them pissed because I refused to enter. When I see these players I wish that when the newest expansion is out, they end up being spoiled on the biggest twist. I hope its ruined because why should I respect your story if you can't do that for someone else.

fairly new to the game and mainly been range DPS. I just got into healer, WHM is mid 60s. Everyone in the party are my defenseless babies and I feel like a turd when someone dies on my watch. I’m also a comm whore and will be the last person to leave the instance, usually while being charmed by the exit. Feels bad when you keep everyone in your party alive and leave with no comms :( For example, the sastasha run I did yesterday where the tank did baby pulls the whole time while refusing to turn on tank stance, while the DPS and myself were getting the majority of aggro. Then at the last boss, DPS pulls the boss and the tank doesn’t enter the fight. We beat it without the tank and no one died throughout. Never said a word throughout the entire dungeon and walked away from it with 0 comms. That stung a bit.
@@Abeno_police oof that sucks. As the newbie tank I pretty much almost always comm the healer. I see it as their due for keeping my sorry clueless ass alive while I panic in the middle of a mob lol

Getting your quality meter to 96% as a crafter and creating a normal quality item. Even worse when you realise you don't have enough ingredients to craft it again.
They remedied this by allowing any player to just teleport into the fight mid battle however. I don't really feel that anger towards players starting normal content without the cutscene watching sprouts is anything worth being upset about as you miss out on literally nothing.
I watch all the cutscenes (first time through), so I see this a lot. I'm usually the healer too, but so far nothing actually bad has come of it (no wipes, etc), so I don't mind. I just assume the tank is making that decision with the knowledge that I'm still in a cutscene. Worst case, even a wipe wouldn't the end of the world, though
@@jasondicioccio880 Yeah, this is understandable if the person watching the video is a healer or tank as a pull probably shouldn't be happening during that time, but DPS are unfortunately *useless* in normal content as there are no DPS checks. You could afk at the beginning and we will still complete the run with no complications, granted my fiance and I tank/heal so we work as a well oiled machine.
To be fair, there's been a few times where I accidentally engaged the boss (the final boss in Toto-Rak engages if you jump down, which you don't know unless you... jump down). Every time I'm like 'oh, oops'.
Imagine how useless you feel when watching the cutscene at the end of Aether factory place, as the healer, and then your party goes in anyway and clears the fight without you.
The maddest I've ever been was on purpose. I was having a really shitty, no luck, terrible day, and knew I had to work it out on something, so I decided to finally climb Kugane Tower. 3 hours of extremely loud expletives later, I not only made it to the top, but managed to hit the lamppost first try. Best sleep of my life that night.
My rage stems from my room mate always and i mean ALWAYS asking me to " not get ahead of him" in any game we play together. So while playing ARR we got to the last few MSQ/ dungeons of the ARR story line (when ARR was all that was out.) I come home after working 12 hours only to find out he is DONE with the MSQ and I am now 6 to 8 hours behind him. he refused to help with any of the dungeons etc since he was " already done, no need to repeat it!" NEVER again have I waited for him in any games we play nor do I share secret chest or give him money like I did in FFXIV when he started playing. My rage is a unending torrent of malice towards our co-op gaming. :)
@@AquamarineMemories i am very much so. To make things worse I actually gave him one of my extra accounts. I've been playing since it was ARR XD so after he stopped playing I got my account back and try to keep both up to date on msq but I haven't with SB. Just my main account is up to date. Grinding out my crafting job since battle jobs are all maxed.
Lmao wow. I feel like I was once in a similar situation with a friend. This was back when we lived in the same town and we used to borrow games and anime from each other. Most of the time it worked like a trade: He'd let me borrow something and he'd borrow something from me. Anyways, he'd managed to get Wii and a copy of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn before I did. I remember this one instance in which he borrowed my Evangelion boxset and he lent me his Wii AND his copy of Radiant Dawn. Now, he was also pretty stingy about progress in games that we were both interested in. If there was a game we were both playing, he wanted us to keep the same pace. He lent me his Wii and copy of RD on the condition that I do not go past chapter 7. So anyways, I went ahead and beat the game in a few weeks. He was rather bummed out when he found out about it and just kinda lost interest in playing the game. Idk if he beat it cause he moved out of town a few years ago but I do remember feeling kinda guilty about it. At the same time, I thought "well he really shouldn't have let THAT destroy his motivation to play the game..." which is admittedly kinda flimsy but eh, that's how I see it.
Similar story but I'm the one that decided to go ahead. Was playing FFXIV with my girlfriend, a good friend of mine and his girlfriend. We were all new so we made sure no one got too far ahead., if one of us reached a dungeon, we would wait for everyone to get there to do it all at once. My girlfriend and I got to the final trial in ARR before they did and we decided to wait for them because we thought it'd be cool to all reach Heavensward at the same time. After waiting for almost a week for them to reach the Trial, we decided to just do it ourselves. Turns out he had been playing The Witcher 3, which is a great game, but I'm not going to stop gaming because you want to play something else. When he finally got back online we were halfway through Heavensward and he was mad that we didn't wait for him. We did help him with dungeons and trials as he got to them though and it took him a while to catch up since he was playing The Witcher more often. We then agreed it was kinda silly to make people wait for you, but oh boy was he pretty mad the first time he found out we went on ahead without them.
All these stories made me remember my own that I forgot about. I was main tanking a Copied Factory run in the first month that it came out, so there was a few newbies in my alliance who didnt know the mechanics. I wanted to wait for everyone to be ready before pulling but in the 1st boss someone just charged right in. This happened with the tank mini boss half way through and that big 2nd to last boss as well. I was kinda mad by the time we reached the last boss that I ended up just threatening every alliance, typing this in chat: "Anyone who pulls before everyone is ready, I WILL LET THEM DIE TO THE TANKBUSTER" its the 1st mechanic that happens in the last boss so they knew I wasnt lying. We managed to wait for newbies to finish the cutscene and did a 15 sec countdown. I got 6 commends at the end of run :)
As a new player (Just returning from an extended break..), I was getting to know my setup and what to use when. We had a tank who turned around angry. We died once, i told him I'm new please be patient with me. He told me we should be able to do wall to wall pulls. My lvl 80 friends said stop healing and kick him. We were running a level 16 dungeon.
The FFXIV community is generally really good and helpful, so what makes me angry is when someone gets angry at people trying to help newbies get familiar with the boss mechanics/dungeons/etc. People seem to forget that everyone was a newbie at some point, and we need newbies to stay if we want our community to grow and thrive.
People complaining because the newbies don't know mechanics already and want to watch the cutscene... annoys me so much. Yelling at the newbie instead of helping is doing the opposite of making the dungeon/ trial/raid easier. That's also why many newbies don't want advice. As a sprout, I'd get complaints constantly. Especially from mentors. Or kicked from dungeons just for it being my first time (as a dps, who waited in queue... that hurt). They feel like they don't deserve advice sometimes, or are scared to ask. If someone gave me advice, I'd listen. Id thank them, ask questions, etc. But, if I got disrespect for not already knowing mechanics when no one says anything, dying, being new, or watching cut scenes... I just stayed silent and raged alone.
And this is one of the major reasons wow doesn't have a good community. People forgot that in order to create one, you have to take time to include people you otherwise wouldn't. Positive experiences with people spreads and fosters a great community.
As a sprout Paladin, I was watching a cutscene, getting immersed in that juicy lore before a boss fight began. While I was doing that, I saw the message: "the chamber will be sealed off in 15 seconds." Never before have I felt so much anxiety. I immediately skipped the cutscene and loaded in to find the party already fighting and their HP bars getting pretty low. So I rushed in, and we won, but I felt super sheepish. As a new player, I definitely was that one guy who always thought everything was his fault. Now I look back on it and I feel a bit of bitterness for the incident still. I also gained an irrational fear of boss cutscenes, so I always skipped them, even when I haven't seen the cutscene before, and just watch them later in the inn. This definitely killed immersion.
Let them die, it's their fault for not following your pace. You're the boss' best friend and if the party wants to abandon you, the boss will beat them up for you.
I can't believe how people are obsessed with immersion dude this is a game, and it an online game at that too don't take it too seriously. And no I am not the one who don't wait for anyone to finish cutscene I actually wait for new players to watch I just hate people who are obsessed with immersion in games.

Had a queue for Thronmarch and asked "hey remind me and my friend the order we should kill them in?" and the person with the mentor crown said "doesn't matter it's easy." We ended up wiping twice.
omg. Every time I get Thornmarch on the roulette I grab my phone, open up the guide and mark the order of the moogles. Wipe is guaranteed without them marked.

I think my most rage moment was doing Aurum Vale to level one of my jobs, and we had this level 48 LANCER, not dragoon, lancer. we kept wiping every boss because they would not use the fruit/stand in the AOEs. When I confronted them about it, they said they were "watching netflix whilst levelling" and "I always leave my job quests for when I get to level 50"... This person also wasn't a sprout
Single-handedly saving the run as a RDM, dodging everything like you wouldn't believe, pulling off the most spectacular rezzes at perfectly timed moments, and not getting even a single commend - always the most rage-inducing thing for me! The last time it happened (in E4 at that) I did get 5 commends for it though, along with people saying in chat that that was nuts, so that was nice.
I once was in a very terrible Copied run with a LOT of deaths. I use a raise macro, so I scrolled back through my chat and counted how many times I raised. 26 times. And not one single commend. And 9 of those raises went to the same person. 🙃
I was healing the vault once and the PLD went in without tank stance, so I went into party chat like "don't forget shield oath!" and we made it all the way to the first boss with me pleading him during every trash pull to use tank stance, the whole party was dying. I rarely just rage quit but I could not continue that dungeon that day.
You saying Shield Oath sounds like this happened back before ShB, and if so, it wouldn't have been that big of a problem to not use the stance, but rather to not know how to keep aggro. With how aggro works now tho, it just hurts, but also, PLDs stance is now called Iron Will, and not Shield Oath anymore
@@Ty-ih9cu I was just trying to communicate. Maybe if they told the tank to use "Shield Oath" but the stance is called "Iron Will", the tank just didn't understand. But yeah just meme about me I guess
Same in a hw dungeon(i don't remember the name) but at a certain point the tank started to run in circles and we kicked him luckily. Forgetting the stance can happen, it still happens to me some times but why do they ignore messages that's what i don't understand
Yes, that's frustrating, you want to do this good, but some times I get something interesting, in the Pharos Sirius it was the first time to all of us, soo we were like "well, Guess we'll try, die and learn together" the dungeon was longer than normal but funnier because we were all doing our best and I learn the hard way against Zu: Don't break the eggs too early (As a RDM I always take care of adds before returning on the boss, but this time It was not the solution)
When someone gets mad at people who don’t play the main story fast enough and pushes their enjoyment of the game on how much you devote your time into playing it. That gets me mad.
@NotTheWheel I feel that. My Marine Corps buddy and best friend got me into it after I quit DCUO and he rushed me through the story to "catch me up" We are no longer friends.
I kind of went through and only did MSQ as i'm more of a story type of person, but i don't understand why people dont understand that not everyone is like that. Some people just play it for the social aspect, or solely run raids and dungeons. everyone has their style, and not everyone is the same.
I’m still relatively new to the game(just finished heavensward) and I love the story so I really wanna watch the cutscenes lol It doesn’t make me rage but it makes me really anxious watching the cutscene then seeing *... is sealed in 15 sec* and I’m there like “but... cutscene..”
just keep watching the cutscene if that keeps happening - if it gets sealed you can just tp in late, and it's their own fault for pulling early so they won't have the right to complain
@@lexy2791 Take your time to watch the cutscene. If they didn't pay attention or are like "ok I'm sure we'll be fine with one less player" and then wipe, it's their problem, not yours. Had that happen in Aurum Vale. I was new to healing but didn't have any issues up until that point and the tank was badly undergeared. Like 15 Level. He continued to pull the whole bit before the first boss and complained why I wasn't healing him.
I feel that. I had that twice in Holminster. And they called me a bot because i was Healing all the time and had no time do to damage because i tried to heal this damage they collect like a sponge water. I quit After this mess.

This is fair however there's a big difference between recommending a tank using his cooldowns more effectively and Billy the dipshit running around in circles instead of DPSing
For me, it’s the hit boxes sometimes. I run out of an attack, stand with the rest of the group and I think I’m safe, and then the game’s like “no, you were too slow after all, eat the floor.”
Latency has killed me so many times. I'm like... My corpse is literally outside where the hit box was, but, okay? Thanks, I guess. I get to take a sip of water as I wait on a rez =.= It's even worse when the healer asks why you didn't dodge, you ask where you went down, they realize what happened and say you should've been quicker X3
That happened to me once, returned as a tank player. Got kicked before the final boss, joined that specific dungeon in progress and got the same group. That was a good feeling. :P

If the healer can keep up with the tank and the tank can keep the aggro, there shouldn't be a problem in any of the early dungeons tbh. I had a dungeon where I noticed half way through that the tank didn't have tank stance on and no one wiped or anything. I've also had dungeons where the tank ran past MULTIPLE enemies who proceeded to aggro the poor healer. That and not going at the healer/tank's pace is honestly the biggest issue.
@@fluffymonster396 It is a problem because you're slowing down the dungeon by forcing the healer to heal instead of damage, while not killing any faster due to lack of dps aoe stop pulling big packs in early dungeons, it's pointless

My absolute favorite is when we're in a trial, so there's a main tank and an off tank, right? one of them is max level, decked out, clearly knows when to use cooldowns each pull. We'll call him the Chad of tanking the other tank? -doesn't understand tank swaps -wants to off tank only doesn't understand how tankbusters work -spins the boss constantly ...this is the *attack helicopter tank* now: the attack helicopter and Chad figure out quick who's *starting the fight* as main tank, not just who's main tank *ya boi Ramuh EX is silently judging you from across the instance* Chad asks if there's any questions, attack helicopter agrees on everything and says they get it ...The party dies because the tank swap never comes. the dps are slaughtered one by one the healers try their best, but we can only rescue one another from the UwU for so long *Ramuh's voluptuous beard enfolds his foes with his UwU to death* Sometimes you make it to the dps check: when you do, either the dps are all dead already or they don't know to start from the A marker's add and go clockwise (which Chad has explained) the dps? they have silent agreement that they'll be forsaken to the queue timer once more after this. the healers? they feel for the poor dps, they wish they could do more to help keep them alive but they're already averaging 5 rez macros per pull trying to stabilize losses the Chad? they're calm, but their patience is wasted the attack helicopter... *head-spinning in the water ring intensifies* When you re queue into The Striking Tree, you have hope that the next run won't be so bad, you truly feel the lyrics when you see it: *the attack helicopter* aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh
Beta to shadowbringers Chad here (currently putting the grind in to have a sweet sweet 500 gear score) to confirm this in all of it's infinite truths. Teaching tank swap can only be done with a major gear score difference and the sacrifices of many, many dps and healer souls, usually unwillingly given. The worst is when "the panic" (that's the term I use for helicopters) then randomly drops after you have finally taught them how to do it right because the literal first dps check fails or they get blown up by a tank buster. I can't wait for this mechanic to return in main story content and blow up parties all over the world.

So I don't remember the exact numbers/times in this story but I try to write it as well as I remember it. I was in a Sophia bird farm with a few other people, some where above my level, some below it, we wiped a few times but overall we managed to get the mount for everyone except me. The drop rate was pretty good, we were lucky so mostly we got a whistle on every second to third run. Then, I was the last one who needed it. We were already in for like 2-3 hours, but most people were really nice and agreed to stay until I got it too. Then, we ran it again and again for like 1 hour without getting it. FINALLY it dropped, everyone rolled 0 so I could get it, and I of course rolled the highest number. BOOM! Global server crash. After 10-15 minutes or so, the server was back and everyone was back in the party, but... The whistle was gone. I didn't get it, neither did anyone else. We ran it again a few times without getting it, it was already pretty late then so most people had to leave, but were still really nice and sorry that I couldn't get it, even though everyone was obviously frustrated. I still don't have the mount. If everyone who was there with me reads this, thank you again for being so nice and patient :'D
Never raged, just embarrased: First timer, first dungeon in the game. I'm watching the cutscene. I had no idea I could skip the cutscene and thought that everyone was watching it with me. When it was over I read the chat: the tank had looked at me in disgust 4 times, had slapped me another 3. The healer was trying to comfort him. Felt so embarrassed. I said I was sorry and that I had no idea cause it was literally my first ever dungeon in the game. Needless to say (and this is a personal choice, new players you don't have to do it, we will be waiting for you to watch the cutscene, just enjoy it, it's not a problem), I never watched a cutscene in a dungeon cause I don't want people to wait for me. When others watch the cutscenes I just dance! :) and I have never witnessed anyone else behaving to other people watching the cutscenes like that one tank did to me. 🙄
that's just rude. cutscenes aren't even long. you can enjoy it honestly...especially in the expansions. just type in "first time here" or something in the chat.
Don't ever feel ashamed of watching cutscenes!! Enjoy them and the story!! :) I will watch the first cutscene because everyone is forceably stuck with me. But afterwards, I will have to skip any cutscenes because I can never know if the group will wait for me, the healer, or if they will continue and get themselves killed and get angry with me. I remember the days when Castum and preatorium (I know I spelled that wrong), the final fights for ARR were skippable, it was a very horrible and terrifying first time going through those as a healer. Skipped all the cutscenes after the second cutscene when after it was done, I was all alone and I had no idea where to go. Skipped all cutscenes for Castrum too... ;-;
When you're in a dungeon with a bunch of dummies that leave tank behind. Or when the healer runs ahead and pulls mobs. Like, what are you even doing? I'm DPS, btw. My entire job is just to follow the tank and not die.
It's honestly more of an issue when DPS pull or tanks can't tank (run past enemies, forget tank stance, etc.) Either healers or tanks pulling is normal. Both have an idea what they can handle in their unique role. If they're over-pulling and overwhelming new players, that is a jerk move, though.
@@fluffymonster396 PLD main here. In all honesty, healers shouldn't pull either. Sometimes, the tanks are pulling less for a reason or they have a certain way to do things for efficiency, Anybody else pulling can mess this up. For example, there are times I'll be tanking a dungeon I know really well and I will have a plan for certain cooldowns to be used on certain mobs. Like the tank in the video, I use two AOE GCDS to keep aggro, only for the healer or dps to pull something else early (that I was going to pull anyway) and it screws everything up. I guess they believed that I was stopping there, or that I was taking too long or something. However, if I use only one AOE GCD on a mob and a monk is going to town on the pack, I'm going to lose aggro. When the healer pulled before me, they almost got themselves killed, me killed, threw off my cooldown plans and patterns and left all of us frustrated. For context, this was matoya's relict, I was wall to wall pulling and I have no problem with someone hitting something a quarter of a second before me as I'm there to take aggro immediately. All in all, the rule I live by is if its going to cause controversy, chances are you probably shouldn't do it. Same reason I don't try to heal with clemency (with obvious exceptions). Happy Thanksgiving!
@@lightning4322 I'm also a pally main. I've never had an issue with keeping aggro unless I forget my tank stance. Are you using your AOEs? If it's a dungeon I'm unfamiliar with, I don't pull big. I also pull medium unless the healer tells me it's fine to go big. It's important to keep the place in mind, though. As a pally, as long as you use mitigation and AOE to keep enemy aggro, you should be fine. If you pull big, use the AOEs. That's what they're there for. I also target the healer to know how well they're keeping up and where are they. We've had a tank decide to just stop tanking cause the healer was pulling while I was DPS. At that point, you shouldn't be a tank. The tanks goal is to protect the squishies. If you can't do that or don't want to, don't be a tank.
@@fluffymonster396 I do not support dropping tank stance when someone pisses you off. That's uncalled for, absolutely. I do use aoes, cds, stance is always on, large pulls unless otherwise requested, the works. It definitely is our job to protect the squishies. I just think that if the tank is doing all that, he/she should pull. I know that I personally have things planned out when I tank to ensure things go well, and dps or healers pulling can mess that up. I'm always nice about it though. I usually just say something like, "hey, no worries, but please let me do the pulling". At the end of the day, its about roles and respect imo. People should respect our roles as tanks and allow us to do the pulling. Pulling mobs puts you at the top of the aggro list and the tanks are supposed to manage aggro. This is why we have tank stance to begin with. Anywho, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
@@lightning4322 I can understand your POV. I probably just know a good handful of people who like to pull as healers and I personally dm if I'm familiar with the dungeon. It definitely is about respect though, and adjusting to what others need. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too! c:

The eviction email got put in my junk so I didn't even know I lost it until 6 days after when I noticed I couldn't teleport to it. Nearly broke my desk in anger that day and learned that you can actually check your house's eviction timer in game if you click CTRL + U and check estate timers. Very expensive lesson learned.
that ALMOST happened to me too, but a friend that i had as a tenant in my house told me that i got like 36 hours to go into my home or ill be kicked out ;D
lol oh dude I lost a house once because I resubbed say like an hour too late or something so all of my items went to the npc that save them for you. Since I didn't have a house I said "well i'll just leave them there until I get a house" fast forward 6 months or so I go get my items and they're gone because the npc only holds them for like a month. like 100m gil in furniture lol
Housing and eviction is very much screwed up in this game. Just before ShB launched, I was still subbed, but had basically taken a month off to play other games, avoid burnout, etc. And suddenly I had PC problems. As it was almost 5 years old, I decided it was a good time to upgrade, so I did. Before all my parts had come in, I got the demolition email. When I finally got my new PC built and the game downloaded, I was expecting the worst when I logged in. I was something like 3-4 days past the demo date. But my house was still there. To say I was dumbfounded is an understatement. I honestly should NOT have my house now and I absolutely know it, but I am grateful I still do. Even so, it prompted me to also get an apartment to store all my indoor seasonal items
I’ve been leveling DRK so I can play Shadowbringers with it, and as it’s my first tank class, I always inform dungeon parties that I’m still getting the hang of things and that it’s likely my first run in that dungeon. Healers tend to be great about it, but once I stop a nice pull, at least one dps leaves the pull and drags more over and overwhelms the healer. As someone who seconds WHM, this makes me silently boil as we barely make it out of the pull.
Oh I can relate but im not too mad just like curious what were they thinking. If 2 healers and tank are alive you'd think you get the rdm so they can assist with 1 rez at least 😝 but then to be fair there are times I see rdm don't even res at all. When I see a healer dies I use insta to res the healer knowing the other one is busy healing tank and party so it's less of a burden. I think that's the problem with a lot of the community when they don't prioritize survivability.
Depends on how they play the game. I treat it as an mmo so i personally dont care about story whatsoever lol. I didn't skip any of it cus im broke. They could be judging it from the gameplay aspect so i understand
Story skipping and complaints about encounter/dungeon/raid design are two entirely different things. But generally people who would story skip wouldn't appreciate all the lore/references in the raids anyways.
@@AoyagiMei I think the rage comes from these skippers because they use the skip and then realize how much they missed by not doing all of the work, including how their job works, so they keep failing at raids.
The most tilting for me was when I was healing and our tank sprinted ahead and didn’t stop until there were enough enemies on him that he died quicker than I could possibly heal... I had asked him at the beginning not to pull too hard and he didn’t listen, and then when we wiped and I asked him not to pull so hard again his friend said “the tank isn’t pulling too hard, you just need to learn your class.” As if matching the healer’s healing isn’t the most basic aspect of tanking...
I had the opposite problem one time. It made me stop tanking. The HEALER decided I wasn’t moving fast enough, and started running ahead to pull mobs. I was a new gladiator. We wiped 4 times. The healer blamed me and successfully voted to kick me. In Halatali -_- I switched to NIN and have not touched a tank class since
I'm petty, so if that happened to me I would've stopped healing the tank each time until they were *just barely* alive to teach them that I control if they live or die
I swear we had the same person run with us. I was tanking, doing small pulls to help the new sprout healer, and the dps was all “learn how to tank bigger pulls”. some of us aren’t all inconsiderate tanks to healers. I just love when a dps will tell us how to do our roles when they never tank or heal.
On my first time running Amaurot, as a healer, I got matched with the worst DPSs i've ever met in this game. They both died at least 3 or 4 times during each boss fight, we wiped every single fight at least two times, even after I explained all the mechanics to them. At the last boss fight, after wiping 3 or 4 times to mechanics, we miraculously reached a try with no deaths. Still not enough, since we wiped one last time because of Boss ENRAGE due to LACK OF DPS. After all of that suffering, the instance timer reached ZERO and we failed the duty entirely, so in the end it was all for nothing. I was so furious that I stopped playing for the day, and the next day I just did the dungeon with the NPCs instead.
To be fair, if they were dying on the second boss, there's also a chance that the tank wasn't pulling aggro effectively. If they were just dying to AoEs because "lul healer adjust" then, yeah, shame on the DPS. But that fight's almost entirely adds, and their autos definitely sting the party hard if the tank doesn't pick up!
I haven't had any rage-inducing moments in this game yet, but I will say that I recently started HW content, and there's some trolls working at Squenix who probably had too much fun designing the maps and placing aether currents.
To be honest, it would seem totally reasonable to me if the Dancer LB3 would make bosses just stun for 5 minutes because it's so pretty. I mean, they throw flowers at them! And I'd be fine with that.
My rage moment was coz of how that traitor Ilberd dies. Like he dies having achieved his goals. He dies with a smile on his face, no "All my life was a lie" monologue! I want to believe that in the Eighth Umbral Calamity era Ilberd's forgotten ghost haunts the Wall, a shrine built where he died where survivors gather to curse his name. Where an aged Raubahn comes, meets the ghost, and refuses to forgive him. I'm quite petty, I need a proper triumph over NPCs who betrayed me
I was ticked the whole Ala Mhigan story line. I would have let the whole country die a traitors death. Sorry Raubahn. I still never go to those maps, and never opened the dungeons or raids from Rhalgrs Reach.... I even quit my crafting quests that went there and stopped crafting.
This actually happened in my first Prae run. I was a BRD and there was a WHM who was also new. That poor healer died in the first pull where you skip the mobs and just jump to the next area. They stayed dead for the rest of the run. I felt really bad and wanted to help, but both tanks had already gone ahead as had the other healer, a Scholar. I didn't stand a chance, so I too jumped through and abandoned my fellow sprout. 😞
had this happen to me throught the entire last game sequence today they pulled all the mobs, teleported away and I died, not even knowing what to do, besides not being able to see the lever behind all the mobs anyways and they just kept on going, telling me to just respawn and take tge shortcut I didn't even know what that was and though I'd have to run the entire way by myself again so I waited for a minute or so and then got pulled from cutscene to cutscene, not really being able to participate in the fights and at some point had to redo the keycard part for the mech as the only person because I simply didn't know and so I couldn't even use it because they ran ahead so fast ruined the entire experience for me
I remember once someone was being really mean to a sprout for messing up a mechanic and I got really mad, I usually dont care when ppl are mean to me abt mechanics but a sprout? LEAVE THEM ALONE YA BIG BULLY!!! Edit: Oh yeah getting rescued when I'm playing tank for not being "fast enough" is always an automatic leave for me. Now u have to wait even longer because u were impatient and rude u.u
I had this happen to me once. I was running tank on Great Gubul Library (my friend was one of the DPS). My healer said "Hi, I'm an addict of speed runs." The other DPS kept running ahead and saying 'faster.' I usually do wall to wall pulls or pull 2 groups, after ensuring I have the attention of all the mobs in one group. I should have left, but I didn't. I got rescued once. Needless to say, they got to tank the first boss until 5% health when I provoked it. I said "Look, if you want to set the pace, you should tank" and got a snarky "Oh, we have one of THOSE players" in response. Fine. We didn't stop. It was wall to wall pulls at full sprint with trash following us into the bosses and I used no damage mitigation. None. From now on out, if I am tanking and that happens, I'm leaving. I'll take the penalty. Forget that. The sad thing is: I main healer. It is wholly unnecessary to rush.
as a tank, i usually "test" the party with the first big pull. if it goes well fast pace is okay - if i see the healer struggling or dps single targeting i go slower, if we wipe i apologise and go slower. i personally really like big pulls, thats were it gets interesting tbh. wht i can not stand is healers doing NOTHING. warrior is self healing machine and i really had a scholar that did not cast a single thing until the pull between 2nd and 3rd boss in expert roulette... our mch in chat was like "u really like doing nothing huh" wasting ppl's time with dong nothing really sets me up.
The part on spinning the boss and dragoon missing positionals, im pretty sure back in ARR dragons HAD to hit their positionals in order for their combos to continue. Now they all just give bonus dmg.
A running joke me and my friends say to this day happened years ago, when we first started playing, it was our first time in Cutter's Cry. We had no issues all the way to the final boss and wiped once to the Chimera. This made the dps pubbie in our group FURIOUS despite us telling him it's our first time and he refused to help explain mechanics. During the second attempt he died and let out a "JESUS PEOPLE" -- we did fine and killed the boss before we could ress him. Occasionally my friends say JESUS PEOPLE when they screw up and die or fall off a cliff, etc. Makes me laugh every time.
Starting learning parties for Shiva Unreal with some also-new-ish friends and getting Perfect Legends in overmelded Edenchoir gear giving everyone grief for not clearing within 3 pulls. I realise this is very specific, but LEARNING PARTY!!!
Just started playing on Goblin, I am always looking forward to being done with work to get me 2 hrs of FFXIV. Your videos have really helped me understand some aspects of the game. Thanks.
It's not a wild rage, but when I queue for 30+ minutes for Leveling Roulette and the result is Ifrit Normal it's...It feels like winning 3 bucks on a lottery ticket that cost five bucks. Like, yes, it's short and I can move on. And yes, I'm happy to do my part to help the new players get through the story. But it feels wasteful somehow.
I'm the opposite, after doing leveling a billion times seeing that was gold. I get my big boost of exp with little to no work and can move on to the next one.
If you want better odds at Ifrit (or dont want cringe mechanic higher lvl dungeons), que with all your gear unequipped, and only aurim veil and lower dungeons will be chosen from for your roulette. you can inta equip your gear when you phase in with your hotbar gearset for your class. as I have 8 toons to run roulettes for getting a few ifrits in there is absolutely fantasic, and even if not, the easier dungeons save alot of time.
I feel what the Drg said about positionals, Tank kept moving the boss around and screwing with the Mnk(me) and Drg in party ... I didn't say anything, it actually made me LOL
Yeah been in many of these. My two are; 1) crafting and you get that good/excellent condition buff when all you can do is finish the synthesis. 2) being judged by your gear when the system let you in the dungeon. I was a whm in the arboretum newish in gear that was just good enough to run it (was trying to get poetics). Tank said no this healer can’t do it and left. A second tank came in and all I could say is I think I can do it. That tank pulled heavy and busted my heals to the limit the only death was me on the queen bee due to not knowing the mechanics. Yeah we finished that dungeon and I earned my three comms. Lol
Maddest I've been was when I joined a duty in progress as a healer to find that the party had apparently wiped three times on the second boss in Amaurot. I didn't know you COULD wipe to that boss with a full party. Discovered part of the reason was bc the DPS were using single target attacks on the adds. I had to carry the entire rest of the dungeon as a WHM and we did manage to clear, but I nearly popped a blood vessel lmao. (At one point I was explaining to the red mage what they should use as their rotation on 3+ enemies, and they started hardcasting Impact.)
my rage moment was when my wife irl started spending all of her time with a guy in game and eventually got married to him. She did all of this while i watched the kids, since they cant go to school during covid. it sucks because now i want to end myself everyday but need to keep a smile up because i dont want my kids (both of which have special needs) see me sad. The game was basically the only time we spent with each other and now if i want to spend time with her i need to watch her and her in game husband do matching glams and ride around on the married chocobo. i have never felt so alone as i do right now.
the Nightmare story doesn't make sense... if they were solo farming, the only way they could've seen it drop is if they opened the chest... and if they opened the chest while solo, it would've gone straight to their inventory immediately... am I just misinterpreting the story?
there was an amazing post on reddit about some XI players that had some of the most ridiculous ideas about XIV. But it has since been removed T_T maybe you can find it somehow it was called "Misinformed: A story of arrogance, rage, and misguided intent"
This happened a long time ago in Heavensward. I remember I got Sastasha hard and we had a newish WHM. Tank kept rushing through the dungeon and I could tell our healer was struggling to keep up with the pace. We got to the last big pull before Kraken but Tank jetted off and didn't stop when our healer was behind us. We died obviously but tank and the other dps kicked the healer and complained that they never wiped to that pull. I was silently raging at them but I kept my mouth shut. Also my own experience as a healer has been rough due to the Vault existing. Leveling WHM and Astro I mostly got Warriors. Keep in mind this was when we still had stances so they always kept the dps stance on and sort of rushed through the dungeon as well. I was uncomfortable using Nocturnal Sect at the time so the experience was the same and healing that dungeon has forever traumatized me.
i just found out u can do the training missions for verminion to finish the challenge log in about 20-30 minutes. just spam minions that kill crystals and enemy minions and u will faceroll the ai super quick. the ai doesnt prioritize defending its own objectives so you can just steamroll them super quick. hope this helps!!!
One time I forgot to grab a key on the main quest imperial dungeon and had to sit through all of the unskippable cutscenes and ended up 5 minutes behind everyone. They waited for me at the final boss room but i still felt terrible about it and got pretty mad since there was nothing I could do to get there quicker. Safe to say I will avoid doing that again.
As someone learning healer I am excited af when a tank moves slower or sees I might not be able to handle a big pull and does smaller ones. 10 out of 10 would take a bullet for the tanks that do that.
As a healer main I apologize for my rude kin, and may I add that I love when tanks ask the healer if they're ok with their tempo, or want them to slow down?
Well, the most fun party-chat moments i've had in this game has been in MSQ roulette parties.. :D It's also a ton of exp if you're leveling something in the 50-71 range.. ^^ Since everyone is just there for the exp, the chat goes absolutely bonkers at times during the cutscenes.. ;b And then there's this one sprout that's not lvl-synced in the party actually doing it for the MSQ being completely silent in chat - i always imagine they go "wtf have i gotten myself into?? Where's the uninstall button!?" xD (I'm on Crystal, just to clarify.. ;b)
I got really mad when I was frantically trying to make gil one morning because there was an albino karakul mount on the MB for like 450k. I finally had enough after several hours, but when I went to buy it someone had purchased the 3 cheapest ones just 15 minutes prior. The next cheapest was over 780k. To say I was angry is a massive understatement.
"If you don't like the pace that your tank is going at, you should tank." BLESSINGS OF THE GREAT SERPENT BE UPON YOU, YOUR HOUSE, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR DESCENDENTS. There's almost nothing that makes me angrier in MMOs than people who pull for tanks. SOME PEOPLE ARE LEARNING. Maybe they're new to the role, maybe they're new to the class, maybe they're new to the dungeon, or any combination thereof. There is no way to know 100% for certain on loading in that your [tank/heal/dps] has done the content you're doing as that class/role before. If you can't be a little patient, you probably shouldn't've queued for content with strangers.
I totally agree. I am still new to tanking and I hate it when i say right at the start I am new to the dungeon or only done it once so I am not very familiar with it. Yet the healer or even worse a dps goes and pulls more mobs when my global cooldowns are off. Doesn't happen often, but happens.
The DPS should never pull. Leave that to the tank/healer. They have a better idea of what they can handle and they're likely paying attention to what the other can handle, too.
I believe that being gentle is not a good way to progress as tank, on trash mob you only need to spam AoE and cast some mitigation if needed, if you never feel the need of mitigate damages you will never use those spells.
I was finally able to get a house with this patch, when I'm at my house there is someone who will come onto my property (the outside when I'm at my chocobo stables) and tell me to decorate my house. It wasn't quite a rage moment but after the 3rd or 4th time of them doing it I decided to remove everything I had just to spite them since what I do to MY house has zero effect on their gameplay.....now me and my friends get a good chuckle anytime it happens and i send them a screenshot of this person getting upset
When I was learning tank, I let my party know at the beginning of a dungeon that I was new to tank and our healer was a tank main and was all “it’s fine, I can give you pointers
I got yelled at by my team for not having my stance on as the off-tank. It was really frustrating as none of them had their tanks at 80, and they were trying to tell me how to do my job.
I always go into content with more than 1 tank with my stance off. The only time I turn it on is when it looks like the MT is about to die, so I try to get the boss off them long enough to heal, but that kinda always just has the boss piss around between us anyway. Edit: This doesn't mean I won't put my tank stance on if its needed for reasons other than what I mentioned above, (although while having levelled a warrior from 1 to 80 in 2 weeks that's basically all the tanking I've done so I'd rather not if I don't need to cause I'm not all that experienced and I don't wanna mess up) but I'd prefer not to contribute to turning the boss into a bayblade and pissing up all the damage dealing classes that have to worry about positional's and cause AOE's to randomly appear in a group of players when they otherwise wouldn't have.
Being a tank and having a healer rescue me forward to the next group or back into the fire. I don't leave the dungeon because I don't want to be rude to the innocent DPSs. In any dungeon or raid, playing Monk. Especially Praetorium, where the Ultima weapon never keeps its facing when I finish my attacks except for the ten seconds of True North. Guy smashing the tank into dust with the keyboard.gif
As a new player, I wanted to play as a tank.. not knowing that in order to progress the storyline I would have to basically tank multiple LFR style dungeons.... dungeon/raids that higher level players farm for tomes... so while I'm trying to enjoy the storyline.. I get chucked into the Praetorium, and I start tanking mobs and everyone leaves me to die... then I couldn't even get down to the lower floors... I was so freaking mad. Forced to tank this dumb raid.. and then forced to die over and over again because these people are too impatient to kill the like 15 mobs between the start of the dungeon and the end... Then I go to que for the next dungeon in the storyline -- and for some reason the duty finder STILL HAS THE LAST THING I QUEUED FOR CHECKED EVEN THOUGH IT ISN'T SHOWING IT. So I end up back in the Praetorium AGAIN and now I'm just super pissed because I had to watch the cut scenes again AND experience the whole awful dungeon for a second time -- while the salt was still fresh. I was so freaking mad. lol. I felt like someone had violated my tank card.. cause while I really enjoy tanking the light party size content.. I hate tanking full size+ Cause I don't know the mechanics and I don't like being that guy holding up like 15 people.
(Astro Main ATM) I don't mind WHMs when they don't Glare Mage the whole time, I got a new one in my static and he's awesome to have around but prior my old WHM static mate would use his swift cast for 1 extra glare usage for dmg, so in bad instances, I use my swift to raise and when I need him to hard cast raise with me, he'd say I'm never doing that it's a waist and proceeded to glare whilst saying, have our Summoner/Red Mage do it. NOW LOOK I get that Summoner and especially Red Mage can raise, but YOU'RE FORCING A DPS TO RAISE SO YOU CAN DPS WHICH DOESN'T TRADE OFF TO DO EQUAL OR MORE DAMAGE WHEN A SUMMONER OR RED MAGE COULD DO MORE DAMAGE THEN A WHM IF THEY AREN'T BEING FORCED TO RAISE AND SCREW UP THERE ROTATION SO YOU CAN GLARE MAGE MORE.
As a red mage, the most infuriating thing to see is the healers reviving every other dead player and saving me for last. I could have revived two other people as soon as I got up but no the samurai is clearly more important
I know I am late but here goes anyway: So when I did the labyrinth of the ancients for the first time, I was a healer (I went through the entire story as scholar). Me and the other healer in the party (alliance C) were new to the dungeon and we fell behind on everyone towards the fight were you have to split up and we asked them to wait. Someone pulled the boss nonetheless and we couldn't make it to the C area in time. Because of that, we were forced into the alliance A area so alliance C had 6 people and no healers. They couldn't kill the boss fast enough because of the pad mechanic and we wiped. In chat, people were livid, literally saying ''why are the C healers in A?'' ''Everyone, say thank you to (my name and other healer's name) for causing the wipe''. Like, we are already feeling shitty because we couldn't do anything about this because YOU pulled early and now you are calling us out and putting the blame on us? I legit almost cried because of the pressure and guilt I was feeling. That was by far the LEAST enjoyable dungeon run I have ever had and since it was new, it legit almost caused me to quit the game altogether if it wasnt for my friends telling me it really wasn't my fault.
I had a healer yesterday Rescue me into a pack when I was already pulling big. They sprinted up ahead to the next pack and then rescued me into it. I’m not one to say anything in chat when I’m annoyed, but I was definitely tempted to actually say something. Like, I don’t usually get upset if someone runs ahead and pulls stuff, but the Rescue just felt rude, especially since I was already in the middle of the first wall to wall pull. Talk about being impatient.
That would annoy me too, I’d be tempted to drop my tank stance and just let them deal with it, but i wouldnt want to piss off the rest of the party. Impatient healers are the worst though tbh.
Years ago I was doing palace of the dead with a matched group. 2 party members were friends that joined together and they were pulling every. single. enemy. They wanted to clear every room even if the teleporter was active and there were multiple unnecessary rooms left. After 5 levels I asked if they would please come to the teleporter. They got mad at me for this so I just called it a lost cause and stayed quiet knowing it would be over soon. However, the 4th party member started a vote dismiss for one of the 2 slowpokes. Because those 2 had joined together, the vote dismiss obviously couldn't get majority and wouldn't go through. Although I hadn't been the one to start the vote dismiss they assumed it was me because I was the one who talked and the 4th party member stayed silent. They then spent the next 5 levels of the dungeon insulting me continuously, calling me slurs, and intentionally dragging enemies to me to try and kill me. I tried defending myself and saying it was the 4th party member but they didn't listen. I blacklisted them all and logged off in a huff. I really regret not reporting them. Been hesitant to do deep dungeons ever since.
I was doing roulette one day, got copied factory and ended up getting the armor set box and both minions on that run. I wasn't even trying to farm it. I didn't realise how lucky I was until later because I had just returned after like a year and a half of not playing. That was last week.
Honestly, I think the most rage-inducing thing for me wasn't even with other people involved. There's a solo duty somewhere in the HW patch quests (at the end of either 3.1 or 3.2, I can't remember which) where you have to save some NPCs before Aymeric dies. I think they've since adjusted it to make it more clear, but I failed it at least 5 times in a row because it says there's one more NPC left to save, so I kept running around trying to find them, because the game didn't give you any indication at all that you're supposed to back and help Aymeric at that point, and the last NPC will be saved automatically after that fight.
Oh i remember that one. It's the duty in the Vault, in post-HW quests when the corrupt priest takes all the people hostage, and ends up throwing the girl off the roof. Hated that one and i failed it like twice lol and this was after 5.3 so its still annoying
Also, healers to pull me through the dungeon cause they don't like the pace I set I just turn off tank stance and let everyone die You are made of paper. Yes I need you, but you need a meat shield to take the hits. Don't push me and we'll get along great
When Healers start doing this to me, I make sure to rub back to where I was, or even further back, AND I only pull one group at a time. If they feel the need to be impatient and waste Rescue to save two seconds, then I'm gonna waste as much time as possible. If you want me to speed up, just say something.
Being a healer who does pull more enemies sometimes, the biggest reason why is because to me it feels like they are taking me lightly or think I am bad at healing. When it's a new tank its obviously different, but when it is with tanks who clearly are familiar with the content it feels insulting. If it keeps up after i've already said they can pull more, i'll end up pulling the next group and bring it back to the tank - usually throwing in a holy once I do so. Usually that sends the message and they start pulling more after that. I've never even seen someone use rescue to pull a tank ahead, much less done it myself. I have had tanks dislike me doing an extra pull, but none have tried to get me killed because of it. If they managed to get me killed, I'd probably vote kick them or leave - but mainly i'd be trying to make sure I didn't get killed at all. The way I see it, if a DPS overpulls it means they are irritable. When a Tank does it they are overconfident. But when a healer does it, it is because they are bored.
My biggest rage moment lately was how very very much I hated the "YoRHa type-53 cloak of aiming" and how noone seems to understand my rage. I remember going through the new nier raid's outfits, getting more hyped as I sifted through the looks making my way to aiming. And then I saw it. And I went blind because it was SO UGLY. I mean a full CAPE? Get out of my face that is the most hideous chest piece I have ever seen.
I'm new so most of the time I tend to assume I'm in the wrong and get upset with myself when things go pear-shaped, but the one distinct time when I *knew* I was justified in being angry at someone else was when I was doing Dzemael Darkhold to level my Black Mage and I was doing the Black Mage thing, hanging back, finding safe spots to cast from, the usual. We got to a point where the tank pulled a mob and stopped them so the mob was sitting in a stone arch on a narrow pathway with the rest of the party on one side, me on the other. I was in a safe spot and could still target the enemy so I went ahead and got to casting. The healer Rescued me to the other side of the mob, onto the crowded walkway, and because it was so crowded I *immediately* fell off the walkway and down deeper into the dungeon. I tried to run back up to them, but died on the way up, and ended up lost until I could teleport to the next boss fight. I was polite about it at the time but I will *NEVER* forgive them for dropping me off a cliff like that.
Healers really need to stop Rescueing people. It either makes them feck up horribly, or pisses them off. I hope they remove it in a future update, because it really causes more harm than good.
Now that we have a "what made you rage" video, can we have a "what made you hype" video :D ? I bet lots of people have that clutch win story or something xD (sorry for not writing a story but since I still haven't run enough duns to rage I have nothing to add x.x )
Just the other day, me and a friend of mine took on a fairly simple dungeon. We got to the boss, mistakes were made, and we were beaten. When the healer was killed, at that point, it was all but over. But the tank kept fighting and managed to defeat the boss solo (with everyone else cheering on).
I first started playing a few years ago when the cutscenes in main scenario dungeons were skippable. I was a newbie at the time and I remember missing almost all the battles because I wanted watch the cutscenes for the first time. When I asked if they could slow down a little someone told me to just use the cutscene book in the inn rooms. Glad they changed it for new players now so the cutscenes aren't skippable.
Can confirm healers like to pull ahead with Rescue, as a DRK main it's frustrating, but to counter it I just Plunge back into the pack and let them pull the next set at their own peril
reminds me of the time i was tanking a dungeon and whenever the healer could they would pull me along bc i like to kill 1 pack at a time and i would just run back to the pack, they started calling me names, needless to say was p scared to tank after that and it took me a while to be comfortable tanking without friends again. Kinda rage inducing but mostly just a shitty moment
A friend and I waited 20 mins in queue (dps) for a dungeon we needed in post-stormblood storyline, we finally get but before we even get to the first boss the healer and tank pause for a few minutes as if chatting privately, and then kicked us both from the dungeon without saying a word.
as a healer i will let the dps die if they try going ahead of the tank and pull. my main focus is keeping the tank alive, you extras should stay in the back lol
@@SeraphimStardustArtist I get you said this in regards to DPS running ahead, but maybe don’t treat DPS like second rate team members? Most of the time they’re just doing their job too.
When me and my friends were playing swtor, we had a running gag, where whenever a likewise situation would occur and that person would not hear it , one of us would chuckle and say "look (class non-tank) wants to tank." We would then proceed to stop all action and just let them eat the floor. Especially I am guilty of initiating this, because I were the healer and had enough of playing the piano on my keyboard just to safe that one guy from a normal ad goup.

I get really angry when a sprout is watching a cutscene in a dungeon, but the tank or dps still pulls the boss
That happened to me and I'm like you guys can't wait for like a bit jeez
First time in to to rak I was watching the cut scene then the boss was killed right after xD

I love when tanks ask whether I’m comfortable with big pulls or small pulls. Very considerate and human. You sir have my commends

Healers are a pain I agree
fairly new to the game and mainly been range DPS. I just got into healer, WHM is mid 60s. Everyone in the party are my defenseless babies and I feel like a turd when someone dies on my watch. I’m also a comm whore and will be the last person to leave the instance, usually while being charmed by the exit. Feels bad when you keep everyone in your party alive and leave with no comms :(
For example, the sastasha run I did yesterday where the tank did baby pulls the whole time while refusing to turn on tank stance, while the DPS and myself were getting the majority of aggro. Then at the last boss, DPS pulls the boss and the tank doesn’t enter the fight. We beat it without the tank and no one died throughout. Never said a word throughout the entire dungeon and walked away from it with 0 comms. That stung a bit.

*The chamber will be sealed off in 15 seconds*

Holy heck, just reading this lit a fire of unearthly fury in me. What a shitty thing to do. I hope you're still enjoying FF14 with or without him :)

Well, since you share a household, you sure can repay this to him in some way.
Fuck yeah man lol

Except you arnt responsible for every tank in every alliance so i call bullshit
As a new player (Just returning from an extended break..), I was getting to know my setup and what to use when. We had a tank who turned around angry. We died once, i told him I'm new please be patient with me. He told me we should be able to do wall to wall pulls. My lvl 80 friends said stop healing and kick him. We were running a level 16 dungeon.
The one thing that made me mad was that I wasn’t able to *specifically* beat the shit out of the guy who took my husbando away from me in Heavensward.
We all feel u my friend
play the drk questline. Its the closest you can get...
Exactly.
I concur.
Lmao what
The FFXIV community is generally really good and helpful, so what makes me angry is when someone gets angry at people trying to help newbies get familiar with the boss mechanics/dungeons/etc. People seem to forget that everyone was a newbie at some point, and we need newbies to stay if we want our community to grow and thrive.
Or when newbies get angry at those wanting to help them... I've already lost track over the years.
@@lantearia wtf who were u playing with ex wow players that sucks

Never raged, just embarrased:
First timer, first dungeon in the game. 🙄
Wow rude let first timers watch the dang 20 sec cutscene!
No! Never feel shame for watching the cutscenes and enjoying the story! :) They can wait.
that's just rude. cutscenes aren't even long. you can enjoy it honestly...especially in the expansions. just type in "first time here" or something in the chat.
Don't ever feel ashamed of watching cutscenes!! Enjoy them and the story!! :)
I will watch the first cutscene because everyone is forceably stuck with me. But afterwards, I will have to skip any cutscenes because I can never know if the group will wait for me, the healer, or if they will continue and get themselves killed and get angry with me.
I remember the days when Castum and preatorium (I know I spelled that wrong), the final fights for ARR were skippable, it was a very horrible and terrifying first time going through those as a healer. Skipped all the cutscenes after the second cutscene when after it was done, I was all alone and I had no idea where to go. Skipped all cutscenes for Castrum too... ;-;
@@mikabudzisz7781 oh so that's why they made the cutscenes unskippable there! Because players weren't waiting for first timers! Makes sense.
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too! c:
For me it was running Praetorium and in the moment you need to collect the Magitek License, I clicked on it and moved right before the bar filled, got in the elevator just to find out at the top of the area I had no way to access the armor and had to go down again... Maddest I ever got in FF by a longshot was when I lost my medium house because I hadn't gone into it in 45 days (was still subbed and logging into the game, just hadn't gone into my house).
The problem is not event the cost, it's the availability of them XD
that ALMOST happened to me too, but a friend that i had as a tenant in my house told me that i got like 36 hours to go into my home or ill be kicked out ;D
lol oh dude I lost a house once because I resubbed say like an hour too late or something so all of my items went to the npc that save them for you. Since I didn't have a house I said "well i'll just leave them there until I get a house" fast forward 6 months or so I go get my items and they're gone because the npc only holds them for like a month. like 100m gil in furniture lol
Ouch.
I hate that shit
I get mad when healers dont pick up the Red Mage first smh
lol im sorry i gotta pick up the tank before the rez mage XD
I get mad when RDM don't help to ress.
Why? He's gonna spawn with no MP anyway. At most you get 1 raise out of him.
@@CyrusKazan look at it this way if it's 8 man and 5 died, 1 rez is 1 res you ain't going to argue that it ain't a healer ressing you lol
People who are new to the game and immediately get a story skip, then complain about how bad the game is. Also the garbage game journalism.
So the story is good but everything else sucks?
@Tim Clark but they do
The most tilting for me was when I was healing and our tank sprinted ahead and didn’t stop until there were enough enemies on him that he died quicker than I could possibly heal...
Ugh ikr 😣😣 some people I don't understand how they live with that kind of behavior, like acknowledge there flaws
This is why I refuse to run dungeons with real people I don't know anymore lol (or at least significantly less than I did before Trusts)
Oh my god I feel horrible for you =(
To be fair, if they were dying on the second boss, there's also a chance that the tank wasn't pulling aggro effectively. If they were just dying to AoEs because "lul healer adjust" then, yeah, shame on the DPS. But that fight's almost entirely adds, and their autos definitely sting the party hard if the tank doesn't pick up!

Main Story Roulette when the experienced players run ahead as fast as they can to trigger cutscenes leaving the Sprouts to die :'(
Agreed
This actually happened in my first Prae run. I was a BRD and there was a WHM who was also new. That poor healer died in the first pull where you skip the mobs and just jump to the next area. They stayed dead for the rest of the run. I felt really bad and wanted to help, but both tanks had already gone ahead as had the other healer, a Scholar. I didn't stand a chance, so I too jumped through and abandoned my fellow sprout. 😞
had this happen to me throught the entire last game sequence today
they pulled all the mobs, teleported away and I died, not even knowing what to do, besides not being able to see the lever behind all the mobs anyways
and they just kept on going, telling me to just respawn and take tge shortcut
I didn't even know what that was and though I'd have to run the entire way by myself again so I waited for a minute or so
and then got pulled from cutscene to cutscene, not really being able to participate in the fights
and at some point had to redo the keycard part for the mech as the only person because I simply didn't know and so I couldn't even use it because they ran ahead so fast
ruined the entire experience for me

Ash Attack I encountered this a lot when I leveled Gunbreaker. Wall to wall pulls an everything.
as a tank, i usually "test" the party with the first big pull. if it goes well fast pace is okay - if i see the healer struggling or dps single targeting i go slower, if we wipe i apologise and go slower. i personally really like big pulls, thats were it gets interesting tbh. wht i can not stand is healers doing NOTHING. warrior is self healing machine and i really had a scholar that did not cast a single thing until the pull between 2nd and 3rd boss in expert roulette... our mch in chat was like "u really like doing nothing huh" wasting ppl's time with dong nothing really sets me up.

Praetorium PTSD
I got really mad when I was frantically trying to make gil one morning because there was an albino karakul mount on the MB for like 450k. I finally had enough after several hours, but when I went to buy it someone had purchased the 3 cheapest ones just 15 minutes prior. The next cheapest was over 780k. To say I was angry is a massive understatement.
"If you don't like the pace that your tank is going at, you should tank."
BLESSINGS OF THE GREAT SERPENT BE UPON YOU, YOUR HOUSE, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR DESCENDENTS.
Turn off stance. If he wants to tank, let him.
I totally agree. I am still new to tanking and I hate it when i say right at the start I am new to the dungeon or only done it once so I am not very familiar with it. Yet the healer or even worse a dps goes and pulls more mobs when my global cooldowns are off. Doesn't happen often, but happens.
@@Rockalanche Well, you tank them anyways. That's what a good tank does. If you die before you don't have cooldowns, that's their fault.
I think I replayed ”angy” like 5 times now. Adorable.

I’d like your comment too but I can’t mess up the 69 likes… nice 😂
When I was learning tank, I let my party know at the beginning of a dungeon that I was new to tank and our healer was a tank main and was all “it’s fine, I can give you pointers
I get irritated when I'm main tanking a boss and the OT decides to put stance on and tries to play the aggro game with me 😐
I got yelled at by my team for not having my stance on as the off-tank.
When I get to OT. "Ohh look a MT with good gear. mmkay. I get to play dps with more health."
Its only irritating in Alliance raids when it's a bad tank trying to take aggro and they spam Provoke on cooldown and still lose
How do you know who the main tank is? Do you guys communicate it? I've never tanked before, just wondering.
Broil. Broil. Broil. Broil.
My co-healer wasn't a Scholar, they were the god damned Burger King!
We only wiped twice.
As a red mage, the most infuriating thing to see is the healers reviving every other dead player and saving me for last. I could have revived two other people as soon as I got up but no the samurai is clearly more important
I know I am late but here goes anyway:
So when I did the labyrinth of the ancients for the first time, I was a healer (I went through the entire story as scholar).
Oh, I remember THAT one all too well. Hated it to pieces.
Oh i know what you're talking about just because i felt the same,,
Oh i remember that one. It's the duty in the Vault, in post-HW quests when the corrupt priest takes all the people hostage, and ends up throwing the girl off the roof. Hated that one and i failed it like twice lol and this was after 5.3 so its still annoying
Should not have read this :|
@@moccxhi Oh sorry, I just realized this made it sound like Aymeric dies. He does not. I just meant dying in the duty, not for real. XD
Also, healers to pull me through the dungeon cause they don't like the pace I set I just turn off tank stance and let everyone die
You are made of paper. Yes I need you, but you need a meat shield to take the hits. Don't push me and we'll get along great
Healers who pull ahead deserve a good Shirk
@@Corvus7159 I did this and said healer reported me. Nothing came of it, but I lol'd.
When Healers start doing this to me, I make sure to rub back to where I was, or even further back, AND I only pull one group at a time. If they feel the need to be impatient and waste Rescue to save two seconds, then I'm gonna waste as much time as possible. If you want me to speed up, just say something.
Healers know what they are capable of. Please dont waste at least 3 peoples time cus youre too scared to leave your comfort zone
@@overseerpjoe9477 idk bro a good rescue is godlike
I believe they're only unskippable in Castrum and Praetorium because of that. Most other MSQ dungeon cutscenes to my knowledge *are* skippable
When a DPS thinks they're the tank, DIES, and then blames the rest of the party for their death. that gets me
as a healer i will let the dps die if they try going ahead of the tank and pull. my main focus is keeping the tank alive, you extras should stay in the back lol
@@SeraphimStardustArtist Pretty much. when im dps all i do is kill the things attacking the big guy. its all i know
@@SeraphimStardustArtist I get you said this in regards to DPS running ahead, but maybe don’t treat DPS like second rate team members? Most of the time they’re just doing their job too.
When me and my friends were playing swtor, we had a running gag, where whenever a likewise situation would occur and that person would not hear it , one of us would chuckle and say "look (class non-tank) wants to tank." We would then proceed to stop all action and just let them eat the floor.
Especially I am guilty of initiating this, because I were the healer and had enough of playing the piano on my keyboard just to safe that one guy from a normal ad goup.
@@capriccio9294 Their job is to kill the adds the tank pulled, not pull more mobs. Pulling mobs is the tank’s job, and you deserve to die and not be revived if you try pulling more than the healer and tank can handle.
