Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but there was that first movie he made called Hercules In New York. I wouldn't say that that one has held up. But I think one major reason that one failed was because they dubbed his voice.

90's? To be fair he was on the downside of his career by then. T2 was probably his biggest hit and that came out in the early 90's, but everything went downhill from there as far as being blockbuster successes. Most everything he's best known for came out in the 80's. While I liked movies like Eraser, True Lies, and Last Action Hero, if you ask somebody about Arnold they are going to bring up Conan, Predator, or Terminator, which started in the 80's. Total Recall and probably his most successful comedy Twins also came out in the 80's.

He's got a lot of interesting, thought-provoking things to say, even if one's not a fan of his work. And he's got an immense sense of humour. Would happily listen to this foursome for hours.
This is so wonderful. Malkovich, Cage and others have played slightly altered versions of themselves in movies, so this Hans and Franz movie could work. Also, congrats on providing a format where these action stars like Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford can show their brutal comedic timing.

As a boy growing up in Austria I saw the episode where Arnold ridiculed Conan's body when it aired (I must have been around 14 then). It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen at that point in my life and it burned itself into my young, impressionable brain. I actually couldn't believe what I was seeing, because up to that point I had known Arnold from dubbed action movies only. Witnessing him in this context, speaking in that thick Austrian accent was surreal.
I was smiling from ear to ear when I listened to the podcast episode when I saw it was Arnold on it. I knew how special it was for Conan and Team Coco to have him on! And mannn what a great guy Arnold is! I love that he saw The Hanz & Franz movie script reading episodes and still wants to do the movie! Mannn what a great guy Arnold is!

In German it's a common dad joke to say "reine Selbstbeherrschung" (translates roughly to "that's discipline") when it was supposingly close to have needed to throw up. I loved Anorld screaming "immer" at the beginning, when making fun of his accent. :D

Dude Arnold's great. He's hilarious he's a great actor he's great in everything he's ever done plus doesn't take himself too seriously it's so cool that he was not only in the hans and frans unmade movie but he actually loved it.
