Rashida Jones was 23, a year younger than Linda Cardellini, who was the oldest at 24. James Franco was 21, Busy Philips was 20, Jason Segel was 19. Everyone else were high school age -- Seth Rogen, Samm Levine, and Martin Starr were 17, and John Francis Daley was the youngest at 14.
This show really does a good job of capturing how kids were actually bullied back then, it wasn't always being insulted openly or getting beaten up openly (most of the time) It was subtle, bullies "accidentally" hitting you and saying "sorry little guy" to demean you further. You can't retaliate because on the surface it didn't seem intentional or mean. Bullies would attack your ego and torment you psychologically like that.
True the way bullying is portraid on TV is usually so inaccurate. A lot of times the bullying is actually done by people who on the surface are friends. In most shows its all out terrorism against strangers.
I actually thought it was really an accident and thought it was refreshing that they didn't make the jock a bully. The real bully was the angry older girl who was the same height as Sam. This is so realistic when I consider my high school years.
@@OJOdin yeah she’s white passing but it doesn’t matter where she is she has a right to count her experience the way she feels. Especially being mixed and the amount of racism she has faced when found she is half black is probably astronomical. Along side the confusion of choosing what to identify as. She can’t go all through that just to be counted as part of what she fully is.
There was a girl who was a senior when I was a freshman that looked and acted so much like Kim. I was so intimidated by her but had such a crush on her too.
@Mire Vale Ka·ren /kəˈren/ noun 1. a member of an indigenous people of eastern Burma (Myanmar) and western Thailand. 2. the language of the Karen, probably Sino-Tibetan. adjective relating to the Karen or their language.
They should reboot Freaks and Geeks with a new cast set in 1984 ( after the original cast has already graduated). It could be a series like American Horror Story where each season is a new cast/ story line. Of coarse it would have to be done by the original behind the scenes people that created the original. That is the only way you could reboot this show. Or even remake it set later and some of the original cast could be in it as older characters; imagine Neal or Bill as a teacher
@lpydb yeah she was like 23 when they filmed that but you can tell she definitely looked young enough and meshed with all the other actors. Just wish she would have been on more episodes.

In my school, they had staggered locker assignment by grade, like freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, etc. Not sure why though
It's probably different for each high school. My high school let us choose where we can have our lockers. Like if you want your locker in a specific hallway, they'll give you a locker number for that hallway if there are any available. It also depends what grade your in too because freshman and sophomores get the bottom lockers while the juniors and seniors get the top lockers.
Karen is Rashida Jones, Quincy Jones' daughter.. best line -- Daniel, on Karen: "If she's looking for new customers, I'm up for a test drive." PYGMY GEEK!
Who is the actress in background R 1:04? I thought it was Cameron Richardson from Supercross who played Piper? But can’t find any IMDb on it? Anyone else know?
It did eventually air on ABC Family, as did two other episodes unaired by NBC (Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers, Noshing and Moshing), and all three were included on the DVD set.
This was Karen Fillipeli before going to work at Dunder Mifflin
LOL. She had the same name in both shows, so I assume that she's the same character in both shows. She was mean, before she moved to Dunder Mifflin.
yep
I thought that was her..!
I wonder if that was done on purpose when they cast her in the office
So goddamn true. Just as much of a bitch.

@{dream} I'd trade Riverdale for F&G anytime
It only should not have been on NBC. It was not really in their demographic.
"You don't have hair on your pits?" - of all the times to point that out 😂
i always thought it was weird that an angsty teenage girl was named ‘karen’
This was set in 1980.
every Karen has her origin
Not anymore, right?
It's probably because she became a Karen.
The angry middle aged Karens were snotty girls once.
“Now they’re dirty! So just eat them!” 😂
Millie makes me laugh.
I love Sarah Hagan on here and on Buffy.
Rashida can bully me anytime

Karen did not deserve to wear a Journey t-shirt
Why?
So rashida Jones has been named Karen at least twice

Sam did not vandalize the locker.
Why is Karen's locker next to Sam's? They're in different grades and lockers are usually assigned alphabetically.
