- Karen O and KK Barrett's psycho-opera Stop the Virgens, which debuted in October 2011 at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, is an assault on the tragic joys of youth told through a series of fever dreams.
Directed by Adam Rapp with musical direction from Yeah Yeah Yeah's bandmate Nick Zinner and producer Sam Spiegel of N.A.S.A., the psycho-opera is comprised of nine unreleased songs from Karen O.
We go behind the scenes to see how it developed from an album written seven years ago into a live performance.

My first visit to NYC/BK Oct '11 - an incredible eight days comprised of many remarkable experiences. Through luck and circumstance I found my way to St. Anne's Theatre to join the audience for Tuesday's performance of STV - a wonderful, brilliant, fascinating, musical theatre experience. Six months later and I still can't stop talking about it. A KO knockout, many thanks to all involved.

Happy Birthday Karen O, this performance will stay with me forever. There is a magic to the fact that I can't go back to it and experience it again.
Karen O is so talented and pretty. I've been buying every single Yeah Yeah Yeahs LP and EP I can find of theirs. All I need now is the soundtrack to Where the Wild Things are. Watching this was a breathtaking performance of pure art and soul.

Lets all take a sensible look at this. The song at the start of this sounds wonderful (lets begin. At the end) and we all want it. Some if it sounds like musical though, and I'm not so keen.
