- Today, Ed is creating a Bio-Dome Pond for tree frogs. Unfortunately, things didn't go well. He will now have to return to the drawing board to fix this mess.

How should I improve the Bio-Dome Pond?
Thank you *so much* for not hiding the mistakes and messes. People need to see that even experts are not perfect, and not everything they do is an instant win. You are showing the WORK that goes into even small things.
Don't underestimate the heat from lighting, even from LEDs. I made a tank from an old gumball machine, about 2 gallons with glass pebbles on the bottom. I used an incandescent nightlight bulb, maybe 1 or 2 watts, mounted underneath in the dispensing chute. Got it stocked with a few tetras, looked great. Went out for a few hours and came home to cooked fish.
Dang that's a bummer, this was one of the nicest bio-domes I've seen 😢
Working at such a small scale compared to what you are used to must be quite the challenge Ed! I could see you channeling Tanner throughout this video. How he has the patience to do some of the complex projects he does, I do not know.
Loved this! Can’t wait for Part 2!
💕 love it challenges beautiful progress
I hope you played Africa by Toto during your trip!
Cool project! Thanks for being humble enough to share your mistakes with this small feature. I know your Africa project will only be a huge success. You're the best!
Ed it’s going to be awesome. I wonder if you could drill a hole and silicone a screen over it for ventilation 🤷🏼♂️ also if I had Tanner at my disposal like you do I might give him a call 😊
Can’t wait for the rebuilt!!
To bad you could not drill a hole in the top of the dome for air circulation with a screen to cover the hole. No one would see it and that would help with the condensation on the glass. They have knitting mesh, No. 7, in almost a clear for the hole. That way bottom is sealed. Just a thought.
Can you rig a little fan in there?
So you have a fresh pondish water feature inside the bowl I would suggest putting in some aquatic plants floating plants such as dwarf water lettuce and maybe some salvenia or something that's from the area I don't know if frog bit or red roof floater would be an appropriate piece to add? hey if you don't mind planets that are going to be emergent from the water you might want to add the dwiggia red which will give you some more color in there. I would also add springtails and you said you could be adding isopods and crickets that's cool you might want to add one or two millipedes and just be on the safe side for a variety of foods for the frogs assuming they can eat millipedes some millipedes are poisonous because they carry a toxin in them not a toxin but Yeah I talk soon I forget what it is but I know humans can't eat them and most animals can't eat them so find it if your frogs can eat ilipides small millipedes would be good. And you might even want to put in a guppier too Or mosquito fish and seed the pond area with Daphne Cyclops ostracods also known as clam shrimp and that kind of stuff because there will be algae forming and the Fish and the arthropods in the water will eat theology especially the daftia.
I’m trying to price out a pond and would like your help!!
But, how are you going to feed the frogs?
The only other thing I could recommend is talk to Tanner Sherper serpa I'm sure he'd be willing to give you some tips advice and knowledge.
Agreed!!!
Uh stop that fogging and uh rotting plant material You gonna need a small vent at the top with a fan that comes on periodically when the humidity is too high like 100 per cent in add fresh air in from the outside. all of the bio orbs that I've seen have built in fans along with the light and the water reservoir to add misting which you might want to do at a Mr into your water setup. that's the only thing I can suggest
Thanks for your input!
Definitely re-designing everything…..
You gotta show us the rebuild
