      Morality is a rarity in Night City, so I feel like the common citizen would eat this stuff up like candy. Everyone is striving against the wrongs they perceive in society, and so I'm convince that most wayward people in night city would be intrigued by this philosophical debate. The hotstess/guest point of view, matching the typical sedentary mindset of "yaaaay more cybertech!" Vs. The woke priest's call to a return to morality.

    V's talk with Johnny after that crucifixation mission is pretty interesting.
    Like, engram Johnny isn't really Johnny. He's been dead and buried for decades now. If "soul" is a real concept then his has been gone for a while now.
    It's just a construct designed to perfectly emulate every aspect of him. A perfect clone. Is the engram souless? It has everything that makes a human, well, human.

    • @willmcmanus9542
      @willmcmanus9542 4 роки тому +38

      This is the real question of the game. When do you stop being you? How far does one go before they’re actually gone? Is V even alive? V technically died from a bullet to the brain and was revived due to a computer chip. They talk about AIs being sentient, so does the cyberpunk 2077 world already have many AIs in human form?

      There is no evidence of a thing called "soul" though. Therefore if brain structure was to be digitised - it would be you, because even a copy of your brain structure with all your memories stored in said structure - is essentially you.

      @@16Vagabond It's philosophical discussion, what constitutes "you". Is your consciousness enough for that or you need physical body as well. I just think that consciousness is enough to consider and call it "me". And if replicated, every replica would have every right to claim being "me".

    Eternal life in the material realm would be an absolute curse and most religions acknowledge this.
    But yeah immortality in itself in a decaying material universe is an impossibility I mean Islam and Christianity differentiates a perfect body from the flesh for a reason because the flesh is simply bound here and subject to decay and limitations of its own material perception. Humanity cant even fathom the material universe let alone infinity or even a fraction of it. With a perfect spiritual body Id assume you would be able to comprehend it and not find eternity to be completely terrible overtime.
    But yeah I don't know if I'm particularly religious or think any religion is right or if there is no afterlife at all.
    But Ill take an afterlife or non existence over living a cursed existence where I would probably descend into madness as everything loses its luster and the concept of an eternity life never designed me to comprehend drives me to existential crisis despair madness and suicide you can only extend life for so long eternal life here is impossible.

I've seen my relatives grieve over their loved ones, and some have told me that they would love to see the ones who have passed on again. However, this brings up some controversial points. Look at the circumstances between Johnny Silverhand and Jackie Welles. Regardless of what Colver or Lee say, there are some issues that we face, do we extract someone's soul like they did with Johnny, or do we extract the soul like they did with Jackie?
