Hey John, we haven't been seeing a lot of you, recently, so this little set of clips has been very interesting. We can't get enough of you John, so the more you can show us, the happier we'll be :) Stay safe. Great beard, btw !!!
Please keep it going. You’ve been an inspiration to me and are one of the reasons I have a new 2022 RL in my garage. I’m also in Colorado and hope to see you out sometime.
With that being said in my previous comment. I’m a 54 year old Master Technician with Lexus. Once again John, your technical teaching approach is a very desirable content to watch. Guys who buy these new machines are looking for a guy like John T. Young
I am, tho I feel I mess a lot to talk about. Plus the obvious I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m sure there’s a better outlet for this. Ready Fire Aim.
@@JohnTYoung no worries. If you’re looking for structural ideas, try pilfering Noraly’s format. There’s no proprietary magic about it but it works like a charm; show us on the map where you are and what your route is for the day, where you ate, POIs, etc. oh, and on the hand held pans…just pan mor slowly…:-)
In addition John, if you research your videos and a comment I made from 2 years ago… I purchased a 2019 CRF450L all because of your videos, did 80% of your upgrades but I bought a set of supermoto wheels and enjoy a 0-90 MPH rush without killing myself on a super bike…lol. I change out the the D606 and the front Motaz tires and wheels with Tubliss bladders in 40 minutes. I’m on the WBDR just north of Bridge of the gods in 1 hour east of Portland. Maybe I can join you guys out here some time
Loving the series John! Great to see the bits of US we don’t usually get to see and of course the lovely Honda. And please keep drinking the coffee! 😉👍
Appreciate the efforts, if it’s worth it to you, please keep going. My wife and I are hoping to go on some local section rides in CO soon, Looks like a blast! Good to see all the states your riding through and your practical no nonsense commentary.
Likewise from Australia. I love the updates. The scenery and geography can just be so different from anything we have. It's awesome to see. At the same time, I understand if you want to pull the plug on it, but I for one, will be disappointed! I also enjoy your comments and tips. Of course I might be biased being another 450L rider. Keep it happening! 👍
Thanks Kevin! We have very nice small paved roads in the mountains, but unfortunately we have no off-road routes. We lack the width here to be able to drive such tours. The TET (Trans European Trail) has only a very very small piece in Germany - 99% of the dirt roads are closed for motorcycles ( resp. for all motor vehicles). If you want to have offroad fun, you have to go to the Alps (Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France). There are old military roads and tunnels - that's awesome (but you should not drive alone).
Keep it going. Watching from a typically wet but not cold northern New Zealand winter. When its raining (l'am a farmer), l watch motorcycle travel blogs like yours and wish l was there and not here....Appreciate the time and effort to record and post...thanks.
Hi John - never bored! I believe BDR sections are classified according to riding difficulty. If you ride a section that you think is more difficult than the classification, maybe you could indicate that.....🕊 Stay safe!
Keep it going, John, but do it at your leisure. No pressure to produce a video to satisfy those of us living vicariously through your adventure. Appreciate the "pro tips".
Keep it going Sir, when are you doing a video about how often you wash your gear, how you wash it and overall care and maintenance. We appreciate you Sir!
Keep it going. Of course, I'm seeing this too late for my comments to mean much, but, hey. It's interesting to see what is happening and what you are learning. The tower coming loose on dirt road riding is something one could have predicted. They put that on an adv bike? Surprising. An enduro you're repairing every night, okay. Also, I'm into landscape and weather. How about using that gopro I see hanging from a harness on your chest? Put it on a stem or on a clamp that goes on the chin on your helmet and film some of your more interesting roads and tracks? I enjoy your sense of humor. I and perhaps others are interested in what you are riding and why, how much you weigh and what that means for motorcycle choice (at 150# I'm on a WR250R riding the same kind of stuff you are.)
Yes, definitely keep it going John. But guess what, maybe it’s time after almost 3 years withe the 450L it’s time for another content project. Your true help is as a teacher and explaining the technical end of motorcycle upgrades. Sell the bike, let’s get some enthusiasm with a new project…stay ahead of the trends
@@JohnTYoung I love the loyalty to the Honda product. I agree, a 750 parallel middleweight would be awesome. I’ll be there the day it’s available. Thanks again
pro-tip No.6. If you do go to the top of the mountain on a motorbike in a lightening storm, don’t be wearing a WW1 German Helmet with a metal spike on top. My granny told me that, (presumably she’d been caught out doing exactly that)! 😉
Johnny we can never get enough. Keep your pecker high and point it straight.. you didn't get the mighty aussie nomad tank to potter around you're back garden bud :) all ready relaxing and looking forward to what the next 2 weeks will bring. Cheers
From what I understand, you being a search and rescue guy John, you'll be the one looking for my "dead and bloated body"...I remember I was doing rural EMS in the 90's, there was a scenario with a truck carrying ice cream going over a hair pin turn, and when EMS got there, the cops were all standing around eating ice cream. The driver was past rescue and I heard it was really hot out, so...? I bring this up because when you find my dead, bloated body, yes you can take my KTM 500 for a ride while y'all are waiting for the helo to show, I trust you with it.
I'd forgotten to add: pls slow down your pan shots. Even the camera can't keep up with some of the pans. Slow is good. We like to savor these views. Grate job by the way. This is a fun ride to follow.
What... a Bear Lodge in WY? Well, it's a predicatable as a Grizzly Bar in MT. Actually, there's an excellent one south of Ennis. And, KEEP IT GOING... just stop and show us the scenery. Nothing looks like your high country where I live.

Don’t remind me
I hear there’ll be a new ORBDR next year…..👀
keep it going, if it doesn't detract from your trip. some of us are living vicariously through you
I doesn’t if I don’t worry about the cool stuff I miss. If my GoPro were this easy to DL and edit I’d have better footy.
Go all the way John. We Aussies are enjoying the scenery and your exploits. Just do it for us.
Of course I will.
