Over 1000 Canned Jars! PANTRY TOUR 2020

- Today I'm giving a tour of my home canned pantry. With over 1000 jars of preserved foods. From applesauce to zucchini, I show what's in my pantry. I also break down how many quart jars, pint size jars, and half pint jars I have filled with food.
I also talk about dehydrating. I use an Excalibur food dehydrator to dehydrate all kind of different foods.

We did a lot of canning and freezing when I was growing up as a kid so I know how much work you have into that pantry. But come January and February there's nothing better than opening one of those jars and having food that still tastes like it was fresh-picked.
Your family is lucky to have such a wonderful lady in their life
I love seeing a well stocked pantry! When my kids were still home our pantry would be that full, loved it. I still can about half that every year, I like knowing what's in my food. (and of course my kids "shop" some at mom's house.)
The world would be a better place with more women like yourself!
That's for sure!!
I have such a woman, and we're right in there together, as well as the kids, tending to and caring for our nutritional needs. I sure hope this woman has some help! My Lord, that's why we're owed 15 yrs of hard labor for giving our kids life! LOL
I used my skins from my canned tomatoes to dry and make tomato powder. I use it in soups and stews.
That was an amazing amount of jars, it also looks very appetizing with all the colors, you have worked so hard for all of these, congratulations to an extremely well done pantry and job!
Awesome ! Looks like you're going to need more shelves!
Acres of Jars.
Wow, that's phenomenal!, with you putting in a full day of farm work, it's even more phenomenal, you must be proud of all that, you should be, I never thought about dehydrating the tomato sauce like that, that's a fantastic way to store them, thanks for sharing all your hard work, Rhonda
We canned annually. I am dazzled at your effort. Most have no clue at the hours from seed in garden to jar.
And sweat and some tears! Hehe
Congratulations on your industriousness! Someday I would love to be there. How inspirational! Glad to find your channel.
Welcome to my channel!!
That is totally awesome, Ronda! There's a whole lotta sweat and hard work into makin that. Be proud of that pantry. You keep me droolin.
Girl you are never going to run out of food. No wonder I couldn't find any jars, you got them all, LOL. God Bless.
Wow so awesome always ready for a rainy day my grandma and great grandma used to do the same as you do bless you and your family
Thanks Rhonda! I really miss the days of home canned foods. Perhaps someday I will take it up again. When I was young it was a neighborhood event with the ladies and kids on the weekends. Happy times. Good eats. 😊
You have the Mother-load of Canned Fruits and Vegetables. A Huge Commitment to Canning. 👍
You are impressive wherever you are working. Congrats on your successes.
Thanks!
Ronda, I am sooo impressed with your pantry and all the canning you do, I allways look forward to all your videos, makes me feel really good inside .
Thank you, Kenny!
Oh wow, Pantry envy! You are a super star! Very inspiring. I've yet to start gardening or canning. I think it's super important to obtaining self sufficiency in prepping for food shortages or worse. New sub!
Welcome to our channel!!
Yeah I’m new to this and only dehydrating at this point, plus it’s just for one person. But the wide mouth quart size is my favorite. Saving pints for meat substitutions. I doubt I’ll make jams so, those smaller jars are for excess spices and I heard on the news this evening that spices are selling like crazy because more people are cooking at home now.
You are a amazing woman, and no doubt a tired one ! Everything looks great.
Man-o-man. I’d love to go shopping in your pantry!
Best video I have seen in a long time!
Thanks!
Thanks for talking about your food dehydrator. And very impressive cupboard !
you need to do an entire series on dehydration techniques...what a wonderful way to save on food loss...dts
London UK here. Thank you for this wonderful video!
Very good video about canned food that you do thanks for the great information on canning
bonjour vraiment impressionnant merci pour les vidéos 👍👍👍👍👍
Just found your channel, always good to see fellow homesteaders.
Welcome to our channel!!
Good Job mom. A lot of hard work!!!!
My grandaughter & I have canned over 900 jars of meat, vegetables, etc. (She keeps a "secret" list. Lol) Good job!
Wow! That's awesome!!
Wow that is impressive!! Great job
Not only do you know how to can and Preserve ,but it looks beautiful, and delicious. This is my first time watching your video,
You've done a great job, your work was not in vain. You're a very special woman, I like to see more videos.
Thank you! And, Welcome to my channel.
great job loved your video.your family is blessed to have you in their lives.
You're a very busy lady! Thanks for sharing the canning stash!
A woman of substance 💕
We count our canning jars in the thousands, too.
You tell that to every-day folk and they look at you like you're insane.
They also have NO IDEA how much food their Family consumes in a year.
The World is in trouble ...
Question for you: how many jars do u think a family of 7 would need? Providing there's freezers for meat.
@@CG-mj8tk
tomatoes sauce 3/week×52= 156
Jam 1/wewk×52=52 jars
Pickle 52 jars
Fruits 156
Peppers 52
Apples 108
Plums....
Grape jelly...
What ever you feel like canning just do the math.....lots lots.
Some people can soups, potatoes.... things like that it's something I can make anything fresh or just store in my basement like potatoes, I would not can. Soups I rather freeze. Easier and probably less of a chance for getting sick....meat in a jar makes me nervous 💗😘
True. The amount of waste of “non perfect”vegetable and fruit they/ as in factories .,throw out based off our “perception of good food to buy” is insane. I wish they would use that “imperfect looking food” to make more goods, but nothing compares to a home canned meal, I am so happy for you, .
I had people question my # of jars. I tell them do the math. 3 jars x 365 days for lunch & supper for one person.
@@fourdayhomestead2839 calculated I needed 3000 jars for a family of five for one year of food. I asked in canning groups if that sounded like enough and people thought I was crazy and that was way too many. Sounds like maybe that isn’t enough?
Good stuff Ronda, thats a great stock of healthy food, fair play:):)
Good for you!! taking care of your family !! Very proud of your work!!!
Certainly a mighty fine pantry!
Thank you!!
Wow! You have been one busy lady, but you always are. It’s unbelievable you got all that canning done, along with everything else you do. I guess the others have to pick up the slack during canning season. I always love your videos. They have such a variety, showing the different things you all do. Keep up the great work & videos. I’ll be watching. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey there! Just found you, loved this vid...so inspiring. I canned over 500 this year. But my goal is at least double that for next season as I have 6 extra mouths to feed. I'm a Michigan girl at heart, grew up outside the D ☺️ wishing you health & happiness from MO! New sub here
Welcome to my channel!! You had a busy canning season last year. Hope you have a successful canning year this year. Happy canning!! 🤗
Wow!! Impressive!
Wow, you’ve been busy!! Good job.
That is alot of work. Rhonda you should be very proud of that pantry. Hope you and your family are having a wonderful day!❤️

Can I move in? You do amazing work!!!
Kevin and fam are very lucky!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!
your pantry is a work of art with all of the colors--now you just need some yellows and oranges and you will have a rainbow...
Tomatoes are so good when you grow them yourself!
Everyday I'd look through every new video looking for Acres of Clay Homestead and Rhondas new post. So here we go. Man that's a lot of canned foods. You could last months if need be.
Thanks for watching!! 😊
@@acresofclayhomesteadAlways
Very impressive. Love your storage area too.
Hello from Polettirosa Homestead. Love your pantry. I am a new UA-cam, so watching your video gave me some great ideas. Great job
Hello and Welcome to UA-cam!!
@@acresofclayhomestead your lucky to have a lot of subscribers, I only have 31, but I am only a few months old. Good luck
Hang in there! It took me awhile before my channel started to grow. Keep making videos and you'll get more and more views.
Wonderful storage idea .
Your jars sealed good I didn't hear any popping when you were moving them around
I've never had a jar come unsealed from moving them.
If that had happened that is a bad jar of food!
Good morning Rhonda hope you're having a blessed week
I am! Thanks
where do you find time too cook for a large busy family or is the slow cooker your best friend?
I try to plan my meals, but the slow cooker sure is handy! 😊
Love this! What type of lids do you use?
I use Ball and Tattler lids.
Thanks for watching!!
What kind of brine/solution do you put in your peppers?
Have you had trouble finding wide mouth lids. Love your pantry
I haven't been able to find any size lids for several months now.
@@acresofclayhomestead All the stores here in Ontario are sold out of jars and lids. Some people on craigslist are selling jars for five to ten times the store price. Apparently canning was popular this year.
@@professorpending8315 I do the exact same thing. Except this year I actually used some of those lids that came with the jars.
@@12345NoNamesLeft apparently it was very popular!!
Wow way to go that's alot of work... You rock girl ❤️
Great Job
Nothing no more beautiful than a full pantry of GOD'S bounty put up for our benefit!!
Wow! Looks good!
Great video!
Amazing!!! No wonder we can't get hold of any jars in Australia 😂
God bless you & your family 🇦🇺💙
Wow,that garden gives you alot of food good job, also money saved, I mean u dont have to buy,ur up to 33 k subscribers, good job again, also ur hair n nails looked great ok have a good day
Excellent !
Very impressive pantry good to see someone prepared to use their own produce an not putting money in the supermarkets tills 💪💪
they say theresa shortage of canning supplies i now know why!! you have them all !! I think thats fantastic good for you family will never go hungry thats for sure
Oh goodness! My jars have been slowly collected over many years. 😊
Hello again and thanks for sharing .🍅🍅🍅👍
I have over 1,000 canning jars too, but they are all 'dry canned' with a vacuum and oxygen absorbers. I have jasmine rice that is 10 years old that tastes like I just put it up. I have beans, rice, salt, sugar, wheat, rye, honey, pretty much everything that will last for decades.
Would love some cooking with dehydrated food videos!!!
How do you can your pepper?
That’s a lot of work but you are definitely set for the winter
Awesome pantry!!!
Awesome presentation!
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO 👍💖
do you use a pressure cooker to can ?
No, I use a pressure canner.
WOW WHAT A ALSOME JOB
Impressive pantry.
It's apparent that you need more pantry space. Move some cars out of the garage and into a barn somewhere and build more shelves.
I love the pantry! I am a beginner and was wondering if you could elaborate on your garden. Do you buy dirt or just use the land you have? Do you fertilize? If so, with what? And what do you use for pest control? Thanks so much!
I will be doing a garden video soon.
Hopefully I can answer your questions...
How many jars do you think you’d need to feed your family without any input from the grocery store?
thumbs up! let's start jarmitzwa :)
so cool!!!!
Question now where do you keep your jars of dehydrated food? Also how many empty jars do you have. being that there is a shortage of jars. And lids. I'm very proud of you lady. You have done a fantastic job and you have done it with love.
I keep my dehydrated foods in the garage also, just in a different location. I have probably 100-150 empty jars right now.
wow amazing job well done
Is the garage heate. Wondering about freezing ur pantry in a Michigan winter
No, it's not heated. Just really well insolated. Pantry won't freeze.
Oh my that is awesome, can I come to your house on a cold winter day.
Fantastic! Thank you so much.❤️
Just curious to know if you live in some place where there isn't much food all the year? Or do you sale them? Coz I can't understand the reason to store n can barbecue fillings n simple meat n soups etc... I mean they don't take much time to make fresh so y need to can... Canned food is definitely not healthy as comparable to fresh food
It looks like a lot of the jars have lids only or am I missing seeing the rings?
I never store canned goods with the rings left on.
Looks really good
Great job 👏
Hi Ronda, It's quite obvious to me that you are at the point your ready to shipping that care package to your long lost old Canada relative lol 😉😃
Seriously that's a pretty awesome pantry you could probably skip a year of canning !! Hope your all staying safe and happy 👌🇨🇦 Craig
😁😁
So based on X number of people, how long do you think those 1000 jars would last along excluding orher food stored, growing or harvested in the future?
If the six of us only had my canned goods to live off of, I would say it would last us 5 maybe 6 months at the most.
Holy can goods ✌👍 that will last a couple days 🤔😉 hi neighbors happy Wednesday
It looks like if you would remount the shelves closer together, you could get an extra shelf in there.
That is an idea. 🤔
Do you guys eat the contents of the pantry every year or do you have to rotate the contents annually?
Some things will last a year. Other things will last 2-3 years.
This is a ( " FREAKING AMAZING UNBELIEVABLY TALENTED WOMAN " ) This is so much work an youtube children n husband?? Very nice, cute channel with alittle of everything these are the videos I like. When other people seem to only show 1 talent it gets alittle boring to me! Just came across your channel today but I really enjoyed watching you..❤❤🙏🙏✌✌
Welcome to the channel!! Thanks for your kinds words.
What's dilly? Beans????
Yes, dilly beans. 😊
Pickled whole green beans.
