  • Today I'm giving a tour of my home canned pantry. With over 1000 jars of preserved foods. From applesauce to zucchini, I show what's in my pantry. I also break down how many quart jars, pint size jars, and half pint jars I have filled with food.
I also talk about dehydrating. I use an Excalibur food dehydrator to dehydrate all kind of different foods.

We did a lot of canning and freezing when I was growing up as a kid so I know how much work you have into that pantry. But come January and February there's nothing better than opening one of those jars and having food that still tastes like it was fresh-picked.

I love seeing a well stocked pantry! When my kids were still home our pantry would be that full, loved it. I still can about half that every year, I like knowing what's in my food. (and of course my kids "shop" some at mom's house.)

Yeah I’m new to this and only dehydrating at this point, plus it’s just for one person. But the wide mouth quart size is my favorite. Saving pints for meat substitutions. I doubt I’ll make jams so, those smaller jars are for excess spices and I heard on the news this evening that spices are selling like crazy because more people are cooking at home now.
