Gj for video, I saw that you have 180k on your gte. I have just purchased one with 190k. When full charged , it has 41km, but in real time I manage to get about 33km in gentle city drive mode. So my battery is more degradated then your, but I am happy with that 33, enough for my daily needs. I hope it will stay in similliar condition in next 30-40k km.
The difference is that if you drive on roads outside the city, there are also downhills that might make the battery could reach a few kilometers greater range?
I just bought a gte 2015 with 170k km but I charged it yesterday and it only says 30km range is that a problem or is it because of the weather it’s colder right now in holland?
Very recently had the choice between the Golf R and the Golf GTE. Im so glad i choose the Golf R. I will happily pay more for fuel and tax just for that facemelting 0-60 and the DSG farts. The GTE is more economic to run but you wont have the same smile on your face thinking about how much money you safe than the smile i have pushing the Engine Start button.
I got a 2016 GTE with 55k on the clock. I charged it two times but my range is really bad. I get only less than 20km. I drive only in city with speed limiter set to 50 with mostly AC off. I will try the same tests for couple of more times. Any suggestions?
The third button is “Mode” which is an option on VW to select car settings between “ECO”, “Normal”, “Sport” or “Individual” and on cars with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is used to control that as well. ECO vs NORMAL made a difference for me when it comes to the maximum electric range vs cabin climate responsiveness (both AC and heating). In ECO you can feel the cabin climate is a bit “lazy” and Matrix LED is no longer adaptive.
Hello and thank you for the video. What is the wheel size that you have in your car ? And was it winter tires with spikes or its just M.S tires? Thanks
Basically extra power steering. If you drive on E-mode you'll notice the steering wheel is more flexible and on GTE / normal mode it's a bit more stiff.
Check your manual: “E‐MODE (electric driving) operating mode not available”. That can be because of various reasons like: low battery, extreme cold weather or the car needs a torque that only E-mode cannot provide.
Thanks for the interesting video. I actually though that the indicated range would match better, because I thought the car took into consideration such factors as temperature, degration and which utilities you have on. Is that not the case?
Does you car comes with “Mode” selection option? I had 2015 GTE for some time and in ECO with AC off will show the highest range. With NORMAL and AC on and cold weather it sometimes dropped in the 35 km area…
I want to get a GTE but have a budget and it seems the facelifted mk7.5 might be too expensive so I may have to opt for a 2015/2016 one. How does a 2015 model hold up after 6 years since release?
I think 5 to 6 years is the best range to buy a used car, in terms of efficiency vs price. I have absolutely no problems with mine. Works smoothly and enjoying every drive. :)
OMG, are you serious? I'm glad my videos helped you to make a decision. Congratulate yourself on making a good one! Honk when you see me in traffic! :)
Thank you for your time and effort making this video!

Lol, the beautiful city Haarlem :D, love the video!
Thanks, Andy! Welcome to the channel! Hope you'll enjoy my videos! :)
Just got my GTE yesterday :)
Got the 2018 one, only driven 40.000 KM
It's soooo good to drive !
Hey Dave. Congrats on your purchase. You're gonna have some great time! 👍

That range is well based on mixed driving, ie both in and out of town, ie also uphill and downhill.
Damn, i didn't know you live in the Netherlands, lol!
We might be buren! :)
What range does your GTE have in E-mode with the climate control switched on? I couldn't find a video on that on your channel.

Why are there three mode buttons on some cars, near the gearbox, and not two? gte, e-mode ... or is it for convenience on some machines?

Just bought a gte just wondering what the small e symbol means on the digital display and it appears with a line through it when I accelerate

Hi
I bought Passat GTE 2018 and full battery is 33 - 35 km when i charge at home. Why it doesn't charge full 50 km do you have any idea?

Leuke video! Wat zijn je ervaringen met een wat hogere km stand op een GTE? Zijn er dingen om op te letten als de kilometerstand wat hoger is?
I bought one after watching your videos, first you honked at me and now you made me spend £19k
