  • We made a quick visit to the cabin to winterize the camper and get it ready for sub-zero temperatures. Man it was COLD!!! The lock was frozen on the camper when we arrived. The propane torch barley worked. The water froze overnight. The day after we left, it snowed. Whew!

We fell in love with eastern Oklahoma and the 100-foot majestic pine trees and rolling mountains. In 2022, we bought about two acres of land in Muse, OK, on Billy Creek, which is located about 1/2 mile from the 1.5 million acre Ouachita National Forest, nestled between the Ouachita Mountains and the Kiamichi Mountains and is where you can find the Kiamichi River. There are hundreds of miles of trails for ATVs, SxSs, motorcycles, horses, hiking, and mountain bikes. We are also just a few minutes south of the famous Talimena Scenic Drive (Highway 1 that connects Talihina, Oklahoma, and Mena, Arkansas). This area is rapidly growing for the short term rental business with Airbnb and VRBO. What started off as just a little camp site so we could go play in the great outdoors with our Polaris RZR, quickly evolved into a glamping site, and now we are building an awesome treehouse cabin on the creek.
Come along with us on this journey as we document the build of our treehouse cabin and how our life in trees began….

Coming along great 👍 But just a bit too frosty for me.
The sound of a running creek or river is music 🎶 for the soul.

I don't understand why anyone would call this a treehouse. It's a house on stilts... nothing more, nothing less.

You have a point. So if we called it a cabin, it’s not very descriptive to what it is. A cabin on stilts is still lacking. We were thinking about calling it the cabin on stilts, elevated into the trees, in a forest, with trees coming though the deck and the roof. But we decided to just say treehouse. It is so much simpler. It’s not exactly one, but sure feels like one when you are up in the trees. I am thinking about building a fully tree supported extension walkway/deck off the main deck to overlook Turtle creek on the side. Technically, if that deck is supported by trees and has a roof structure, by definition, it would be a treehouse itself. 🤷‍♂️

It's ooookkkaaaayy. Step away from the keyboard. Let your stubby fingers rest a bit.😵‍💫
Let's add another dimension to help with your 🧠 cognitive thinking.🤔
You might have heard of a stone 🪨 house, a straw 🌾 house, perhaps a house made of wood 🪵 ....
Novel concept but one could say these stick framed homes are made from Trees 🤔 🌳 🌳 🌳
Here it comes .....wait for it....wait for it.......
      Say it 😮😆🤣😂
Hey all kidding aside hope you're having a better day. Life is to short to get upset about semantics of what is a tree house and what is not.
It's their house and they've been gracious enough to share their journey with us and create content. 🎥✂️🎞🎬🎙📺💪
