Great list of movies u have there Barry as I also agree with u 💯. I can't wait to see what horror films we have in store this year. Looking forward to your next video Barry 😎👍
Smile 2 blew me away - easily my #1 horror movie of 2024. I was not expecting to love it since I only liked Smile 1. Strangle Darling was also a nice surprise. Great list, I don’t agree with your number 1 but it was a good watch.
Cool list Barry, close to a lot of My picks. first off I think a lot of people were in the same boat for Nosferatu. I literally did my top 10 list on my channel the morning after seeing Nosferatu because I wanted to see it in case it made my list because I thought I’d likely would however, it made the number 10 spot on mine. not because it wasn’t a brilliant film, but it’s just not normally my cup of tea. I wasn’t a big Bram Stoker‘s Dracula fan despite it being a great film, but it did make the number 10 spot. Late night with the devil was my number six this year. I never got to see strange darling, so unfortunately that one wasn’t on there. Heretic was in my honourable mentions as was a quiet place however, I forgot to mention that one and Alien Romulus another one that made my honourable mentions that I somehow forgot to include. Terrifier three was actually my number three pic of the year as I’m more of a slasher fan, but I totally understand where you’re coming from. People are definitely over rating that one imho. Longlegs was my number 1. The only thing disappointing for me was the fact that I didn’t find it very scary however, I thought it was quite brilliant. I thought it was an utterly beautiful film. The cinematography is my favourite of the year even higher than Nosferatu, which is another beautiful film. But I really enjoyed longlegs. As I mentioned, I didn’t find it. Scary at all and it certainly not the best horror film I’ve ever seen either, but I certainly thought it was very good. I thought it was a wonderful idea and very well executed. As for a “Nicolas Cage performance“ I addressed this in my review and I think a lot of people have this problem that they cannot get around Nicolas Cage‘s voice and that the fact that it’s obviously him under the make up and it’s very important that you separate that to truly enjoy and appreciate all that is Longlegs imho. The substance was my number 5 this year, excellent film. Smile 2!!! I am really impressed that you picked it this high. I totally agree. Smile too is my number two on my list and Naomi Scott’s performance is second to absolutely none this year. She was on freaking believable in this film. So glad you put it so high on your list. I totally agree with you, man. I admit I’m a little surprised by speak no evil being your number one but again that is one that I put in my honourable mentions just outside of my top 10 I thought it was a great movie and well done. 2024 in general had a lot of excellent horror films and if I were to remove a couple films I put on my list that aren’t exactly horror, It probably would’ve been in my top 10. I’m guessing you probably won’t do this because my videos is a half hour long 😬 lol but here’s a link to it if you have any interest at all. my top 10 horror movies of 2024 are: 10. mads 9. 1st omen 8. strange darling 7. in a violent nature 6. azrael 5. exhuma 4. alien romulus 3. oddity 2. smile 2 1. the substance
great take on Speak No Evil that it can actually be a sequel. I saw the original first and didn't mind the change to the ending. Hopefully, the remake will encourage people to see the original.
Cheers for the list; 10) A Quiet Place: Day 1 9) Smile 2 8) The First Omen 7) Exhuma 6) Out Come the Wolves 5) Lowlifes 4) Abigail (ruined by the worst trailer campaign known to man) 3) Heretic (although I do wonder if it will hold up on repeat viewings) 2) Azrael 1) Longlegs I deliberately ommitted Alien Romulus, that would sit between Longlegs and Azrael if included, but I didn't particularly find it embedded in horror all that much. For me, the Substance sits top of that overrated list. It's good but there are quite a lot of things about it that I criticised as I watched it.
Have not seen Strange Darling, so one for the weekend. Nosferatu only out in January here too. Nosferatu has been my most anticipated movie in a long time.
Terrifier 3 been on the art bandwagon for years. Smile 2, Abigail, and Late night with the devil were my favorites. I want to see Strange Darling and Stream. Enjoyed your list.😊
My favorite this year for horror are (In No Order): Late Night With the Devil (Australia) Dead Talents Society (Taiwan) The Substance (USA/France) I Saw the TV Glow (USA) Exhuma (South Korea) Abilgail (USA) Immaculate (USA) The House of Sayuri (Japan) Didn't Like: The First Omen, The Sin (South Korea), Death Whisperer (Thailand), Grave Torture (Indonesia),Longlegs Not Sure should be horror: Kill (India)
I was really enjoying Speak No Evil up until the twist ending. That new last act is such a rip off of the original 1971 Straw Dogs that it was distracting - almost scene for scene. Smile 2 or The Substance for me.
my list no order just ones i have watch and they are all great movies alien Romulus a quiet place day one longlegs speak no evil so badly want to watch heretic but went of the cinema before i had a chance to see it
Smile 2 and The Substance are great! Respect.

Enjoyed that mate 👍

It was the remake that made me go back and watch the original. Without the remake, I'd have never watched it!

it feels like creepy horror isn't as prevalent nowadays so it's a good thing we have the smile franchise
i was very surprise of SMILE 2 😁
Terrifier 3 been on the art bandwagon for years. Smile 2, Abigail, and Late night with the devil were my favorites. I want to see Strange Darling and Stream. Enjoyed your list.😊
stream is garbage 🗑
Substance was great until the last 10 minutes, didn’t like how over the top it got 😂 Nosferatu was good, you need to go and see it.

I Saw the TV Glow (USA)

I haven't seen the new version , but the original "Speak no Evil" was just stupid.
Maybe you'll like the remake. I didn't think either of them were stupid. Not in the slightest.
my list no order just ones i have watch and they are all great movies
alien Romulus
a quiet place day one
longlegs
speak no evil
so badly want to watch heretic but went of the cinema before i had a chance to see it
Already never watching your videos again after the blasphemy of your #1 pick! Might as well been 5 nights at Freddy’s
Don't lie. See you in the next vid!
