They won’t be making any major amount of money until 26 wc. They’ll make a lot of money from the World Cup no matter who is the coach. A huge salary hire like Klopp is solely a money losing move.

How about we discuss “equal” pay when women’s sports generate “equal” revenue. So laughable that Keller is even defending this.
Please for the love of God understand that a manager won’t change the fundamental things wrong with the USSF. Unless you don’t fire him like you did to Jurgen who was right. All the money you talk about needs to go to building pitches, unlocking goals in the off-season, improved infrastructure, coach education, creating creative players who have emotional intelligence and won’t punch someone in the back of the head.
Yeah Jürgen Klinsmann is not on the level of Klopp or Löw but he understands the fundamentals of football very well. In fact he was the reason that the German national team changed their game, the coaching, training etc . Before Klinsmann's innovations the team was terrible to watch
Money for a coach, like Klopp, would come from the sponsors. Fixing USSF has nothing to do with the manager. It should be noted that Jesse Marsch's is being paid by sponsors.
It would be awesome to get a legend like Jurgen Klopp as the US men's national team coach. I don't see any american coaches taking this team to the next level. Just my opinion.

Guardiola and Klopp?! These guys are delusional! I'm American, but there is no way coaches of that caliber in their prime will ever take on any national team, let alone USMNT. They need to look at countries like Japan, Croatia, Senegal, Turkey, etc. that typically do well to get out of groups and into quarters, or on rare occasions, semis of international tournaments. And then see what they do in terms of coaching recruitment. You have to learn to walk before you can run! And the biggest elephant in the room - why is grassroots football so horribly over-priced and low quality in this country? The biggest stars all over the world have come from the favelas, barrios, shantys, slums, etc. There is a reason why 'street football' is the best place for kids to learn the beautiful game and hone their craft. The 'club' football scene in this country is just a money-grab operation run by a bunch of grifters. The coaching, the philosophy, everything about it is second-rate. It's astonishing that despite having such a large amount of youth playing football in this country that the talent isn't coming to the surface. The biggest reason is sub-par coaching that emphasizes physicality over actual technical skills and intelligence. Some of the best players, throughout the history of the game, are not physically dominant specimens - Garrincha, Maradona, Messi, Makalele, Kante, Greizmann, Xavi, Iniesta, Modric, the list goes on!
So sick and tired of hearing about the women’s team!!! We are supposed to be discussing the men’s coach here, but the salary of the womens coach keeps coming up?? This country is pathetic.
Fun fact: Of all the USMNT coaches in history (who coached for more than one year i.e. coaches of any consequence) Berhalter has the HIGHEST winning percentage . That belng said I think we should go with Klopp.
They did give Emma Hayes equal pay. What company hires someone else in another department and then has to match that salary for another person in a different department? Emma Hayes is still the highest paid woman coach in soccer.
The lawsuit is irrelevant. The judge smacked down the law suit. The law suit made no sense. It makes no sense for a group of people to make a walled off garden and say "you can't come in but we must make the same amount of money as you." The men's team and women's team operate in two different worlds. They bring in different amounts of money. The economic realities of what it takes to hire the best coaches is completely different. Linking them is nothing but extortion by the women players and virtue signalling by everyone else. It was just virtue signalling by the men's team and by USSF that they caved to the extortion.
I have no idea if Klopp in particular is interested or not, but it's funny that people are convinced no big coach would take the job. If the money is there they certainly will. Why wouldn't they? It's a unique opportunity to coach a huge and rich country where soccer is growing in popularity at a home world cup which will be the largest, highest attended, and most financially successful world cup in history. There's a good group of players who aren't world beaters but who have the possibility to make a decent run in the tournament. A strong showing could propel the coach to recognition in the US for years to come. It would be a feather in any coach's cap, even if just from a financial point of view. The thing is USSF doesn't really want to do it. They don't want to wrangle up the money and they don't really want a foreign coach.

If US Soccer wants to take this sport to another level they MUST succeed in the next WC here in the US in 2026. That coach is Jurgen Klopp (he has coached both Pulesic and Gio Reyna at Borussia Dortmund). Come on US Soccer lets get the best man for the job and happens to be available...like NOW!!!
It will be worth it even if only to get out of group play. If USMNT doesn’t get out of the group stage with the expanded format, it will be a total nightmare. Tell the billionaire MLS owners to chip in 1M per for the coach.

And if he does the bare basic he will be praised and doesnt have to worry about being fired or huge backlash or hate. It makes sense Klopp goes to England and underperforms people are saying fire him or hes awful and gets death threats and etc. USMNT job is likely one of the best jobs off that alone. You have no pressure youre in CONCACF its an easy win to least make finals. You might occasionally go to Copa America tbh even with Greg coaching they wouldve advanced if not for Weah red card. So I disagree with people USMNT is a marquee job you get to relax no hate or threats no ones saying fire you. And you have a decent talent pool of players that will potentially be growing.

Not happening. Just be realistic. Someone like Moyes or Rogers would be a good shout and a huge improvement on what you currently have and they wouldn’t completely blow the budget.
Messi would never have “come here” before the end of his career…just like any decent player. The USA will never have decen players due to the white nationalist structure of the association and a pay to play youth system. Mexico will get better, USA will not.
@@1972dsraimight as well keep berhalther if you’re throwing those names out there.
Klopp replaced Rogers….and I didn’t care for Rogers style. He was lucky that he had Suarez to even place as high as he did.
Keller is talking like an idiot. The whole equal pay issue came from the women's team players. Do you think the women's players are going to get upset because the men's team brings in Klopp, or some other big name coach they have to pay a lot for? Especially when the women get more money when the men's team makes more money.
I mean they wouldn’t make a lot more money even if they hire Klopp. It’s not like people will pay many times the amount of money for Gold Cup tickets next year just hire Klopp as the coach. They won’t be making any major amount of money until 26 wc. They’ll make a lot of money from the World Cup no matter who is the coach. A huge salary hire like Klopp is solely a money losing move.
@@mathewheffley121 There were un-sold seats in KC for the game against Uruguay. Bring in Klopp and there's a good chance a lot of those get sold. Even games with the B or C teams would get more attention and higher attendance. The women's team gets a portion of whatever prize money the men get from the WC. Whatever money is spent to get Klopp, or another big name, wouldn't get taken from that since a certain amount of the prize money goes straight to the players. And getting just one game farther can mean a lot more money. Also the women have to know that even if they wanted to start complaining about spending a lot for a MNT coach it would be a PR disaster for them. They'd come off like spoilsports turn a huge portion of soccer fans against them.
The womens coach would have to be paid the same as well. Don’t see that happening considering what they’re paying Berhalter. A better option is someone like Moyes or Rogers and they wouldn’t completely blow the budget.
Uh I think so actually- the women may not care about the coach per se but they’ll freak out just because when they see how much a man in the sport is getting paid
@1972dsrai the women's coach doesn't have to paid the same. It's different from the players.
Bro I love that Seb & Herc are feeling what the soccer culture feels cause we don't want the US to end up like Mexico and Mexico is a Concacaf Titan despite their current standing.
The idea that equal pay is even a discussion is a joke. The women lost their lawsuit because they literally got paid more than the men if you factor in the benefits they collectively bargained for, and they were offered the same deal as the men.
Coaching the us could result in a serious downgrade of stature for top managers
Yeah Jürgen Klinsmann is not on the level of Klopp or Löw but he understands the fundamentals of football very well. In fact he was the reason that the German national team changed their game, the coaching, training etc . Before Klinsmann's innovations the team was terrible to watch
Money for a coach, like Klopp, would come from the sponsors. Fixing USSF has nothing to do with the manager. It should be noted that Jesse Marsch's is being paid by sponsors.
@@Silverball121 Klopp is not scared of failures or losing acceptance. Not trying is a nightmare to him
If there's a guy that can handle incompetent upper management coughfsgcough, then it's definitely Klopp.
It would be awesome to get a legend like Jurgen Klopp as the US men's national team coach. I don't see any american coaches taking this team to the next level. Just my opinion.
Keller sucks get him off
Keller is from my second hometown of Lacey, Washington, so... I gotta defend him. His television persona could use some work, yes, but he's solidly knowledgeable. The man is into heavy metal music, too. That counts. Why? Because I said so.
Can’t stand him.
I like kasey hes a legend but his defending of Berhalter and the USSF all the time is absurd.@jhamler1
@@jhamler1I'm from WA State, don't really care too much for him anymore after hearing how much like a politician he sounds trying everything he can to avoid having to criticise his buddies at the us federation.
Blank just donated $50M to build a training center in Atlanta. You’re crazy if you think we can’t come up with the funds to hire Klopp
They have to pay them the same to avoid another crippling lawsuit. It’s very relevant.
Its because whatever you pay the mens coach the womens has to be paid the same. That discounts you getting someone like Klopp.
@@mathewheffley121 they don't. This is BS.
@@1972dsrai no this a lie.

No one praise "equal pay".
Emma Hayes is the best women's coach available. The men should be equal and also get the best available
Or so we’ll tell the women
This is utterly delusional.
What's delusional?
@@krumbleme2 Klopp to USMNT. The chances of this happening are less than zero. This discussion is a colossal wankfest, especially since there is zero chance of USSF firing Berhalter. He could be banging Ernie Stewart's wife and he'd still have this job for life.

Tell the billionaire MLS owners to chip in 1M per for the coach.
They expect us to rah rah the good ol’ USMNT team onto our guaranteed R16 elimination game as a host nation. nah you jaded old fools, the American public isn’t stupid when it comes to this sport anymore. Many coaches wanted the USMNT job because it is marquee because its the biggest country in the world. The USSF CBA is, in FACT, holding the USMNT back!
Yes they tried to suppress Keller speaking the truth. In USWNT case where they lost because they claimed they generate more money than the men, since equal pay was implemented the women have earned more money in the last 3 years than the last 15 years because they are now being subsidised by the profits of the men’s game. So the men’s team can no longer afford top coaches and to rehire GB.
It's holding USA back. F*ck that PC moniker.
I believe it’s only for the CBA is for the players only. As far as I know coaches and managers are not included in the agreement.
@@gabrielgonzalez6456 Correct, the contract does not prevent the men's side from paying a ton of money for a coach. It doesn't mean that the women's coach has to be paid the same.
