I've had mine since November (iPhone 12 Pro Max launch day) and it has held up extremely well. 0 scratches or any sort of damage, and it is stuck to the phone perfectly. I kinda felt like I wasted $80 when I first bought it but it was absolutely worth it. I hate scratches of any sort on my displays. I've also dropped my phone quite a few times and there has been no show of it wanting to come off (every cheap screen protector I've used flew off after 1-2 hard drops)
You're the first reviewer of the Shellrus for the iPhone 12 I've seen so far. Looks like I made the right decision to purchase mine. Just wished I waited so I could have gotten a discount from your code :) Also how ironic it cracked at 17 inches, as 17 is my lucky number :)
So tempting until I saw the "Sapphire" branding etching in the bottom right of the sapphire screen protector. Unless that's only unique to your review sample?
Confused. At 6'40" after showing installation of the sapphire cover and saying you see the "Sapphire" insignia, later you show how it scratches easily with your scribes and say it was not a sapphire cover. ? Also, although sapphire is very hard and apparently scratch resistant, doesn't that hardness lead to being brittle and therefore could explain why it cracked nearly at the same point as glass in your ball bearing drop test? I think it is important to distinguish that although hardness may impart being scratch resistance, at the same time, that same hardness may in fact be less effective towards impacts than softer materials.
The only object i have found in my house that scratched this screen protector was a knife sharpening stone. And that's adds up it's a stone meant to scratch the shit out of steel.
This screen protector it is very hard to scratch, but it will crack very easily. Mine broke the first time I drop my iPhone taking it out from my pocket .
@@TechWiz1983 I made this comment 6 months ago, I've already had the 12 pro max, and this same screen protector (which its not good, can't really use many cases without it popping up) and done sold it because the battery life went to shit after the first week and applecare didnt help like they say they do
I would really like to see someone test this by putting a couple grains of sand on something hard, like a granite counter top, and then dragging the phone on it.
Wish they would make this for Android but they say the curvature of Android screens prevents them at this time they will have to do more in order to configure tmit to a curve but hopefully soon.
Please tell me that sapphire logo isn’t permanently etched into the screen protector on consumer products… If it is I wouldn’t order it. I tend to swap out cases on my phone often, what would happen if a few weeks down the road it gets lifted and bubbles form, and you can’t get said bubbles out.. Can you exchange it?? At this price the warranty needs to be perfect.
Im not sure about the others but the iPhone 13 version is upgraded, no logo at all now and it has larger stickers in the box for better lint pickup. I’ve only had it for a few days so not sure about bubbles yet but I don’t think they are gonna come because I’ve took the screen protector off a few times to get most of the lint and dust and it went back on smooth, no problems. The warranty/refunds is on their website under faqs, warranty’s not perfect so it’s up to u to decide if it’s worth it.
Can this sapphire screen protector be used with an otter box defender? And if not, what cases do you recommend for this screen protector with an iPhone 12 mini? Thanks.
In my experience when using the defender with other protectors it sometimes causes the protector to come up off the screen because the case has 2 pieces that press together over the phone. My recommendation would be to use a case were you just simply press the phone into it instead of in case it in two separate pieces of plastic like the defender does.
Wow... New subscriber ☺️... Merry Christmas. BTW I like that screen protector. I love the effort you are to show us how the item is good or bad. Keep up the good work bro... Waiting for next video. 🇵🇭
Thank you for your support and merry Christmas to you too! I try to put in as much info as I can in my videos so it answers everything you would want to know.
So this has to be the number one protection for your screen on the market? Ahead of rhinoshield or mous or anything else? This company need to make a full round skin that is similar to the screen protector so that you never need to use a case again
@Jordan I wanna get a impact protector skin for my phone because I want to stop using a case. I have an s9+ and I've stopped using a case with it recently and it feels very good
After watching the video, I bought a tempered Glass Screen Protector Dustproof CORTUTOL form AMZ, which is easy to install and remove. The quality is very good ,The tempered glass film can protect my phone well, and I think it is worth buying it.perfect!
I bought an iPhone 12 pro max and insured my phone screen! Insurance costs 3 euros a month if I break it down, it will be changed for free. 2 years 72 euros! Why do I need glass for the same money? The glass is cool but expensive.
These things are SO GOOD! I’ve always hated screen protectors…it’s like having sex with a condom. The Shellrus protector is actually BETTER than nothing. It’s slicker to the touch and stays cleaner, plus obviously it doesn’t scratch.
9:44 it's kinda weird, sapphire should scratch at level 8 it small scratch and level 9 is deeper scratch, you should put bit a pressure pick to a glass.
Man if you gonna do a UA-cam video focusing on your hands. Can you at least make your finger nails presentable 😱🙈 Besides that, good review. I just purchased mine.

Do you know if you can later take this protector off and resale it?
@@Trust_but_Verify Definitely not. Even if you could find a buyer, the adhesive would be worn out and not reusable.
What about bubbles when applying? Did you have any? Mrwhosetheboss got a pretty bad one when applying and he tried twice and got the same result
Thank you! I’ve ordered the IPhone 12 Pro Max Sapphire screen protector using your discount code! Thanks from Italy!🇮🇹
i feel like stronger is not the correct term. more scratch resistant, yes, but this thing will still shatter

You can contact them and see if they can apply the code or cancel the order and rebuy it? Doesn’t hurt to try. I love this screen protector!
Do you guys still recommend it after 9 months? Is it like the cheap SP fingerprint magnet? Thanks!
Nice packaging they didn't skimp on that and that deff looks quality I'm gonna have to order one of those when/if i get my screen fixed
That cement intro made me clench my jaw aaaaaa

It was on there, but they have since gotten rid of that branding, it’s even noted on their site!

You actually see when he uses the drill, the drill bit actually starts shearing cos it’s shaving against the sapphire, nice 👌

This screen protector looks amazing the only caveat I can see though that would annoy me personally is that Sapphire logo in the bottom
I don’t see anything but I could be blind
I think and hope that logo is only on the test units they send out for these videos, not on actual consumer products. Can anyone confirm this?
@@TechWiz1983 i heard it’s so that people won’t return false protectors and that they would consider removing it but is unlikely
Thanks for the vid...just ordered two for 13 Pro Max on your discount code
Guy- “The only thing that can scratch this is diamonds”

Hi: Thanks for the video. Can you do one on the Shellrus lens protectors?

Idk what kind of diamond sand you have at your house

Note that in the ball bearing drop test, you did not have a case on the phone with the sapphire protector vs the generic screen protector.
My installation was not flawless. Any tips for corners not sticking?
i think its Shell-Russ not Shell-r-us
How is the oleophobic coating and does this work with a casetify case? What case are you using

That 9h screen protector actually did Pretty good what
The sapphires only real benefit is resisting scratches. The glass is harder and therefore has less 'give' - it doesn't resist blunt force well.
I bought it thinking it’s sapphire.. i know sapphire will never break at human force
Sapphire is very brittle so impact protection sucks but scratch protection is amazing
