I love the fork/icing technique. It's so much better than either pouring it on or using a spoon...I love how it creates 'ribbons' of icing, so much better. I will have to remember this technique.x
Hi Marie, you will love this cake. It's so tasty you'd never know it began with a cake mix. Let me know how you like it and thank you for watching and commenting.
I will! Been craving butterscotch like crazy, lately. :) Think I might have found the perfect recipe. When you added the melted butter to the confectioners sugar, what started out good, became "swoon-worthy." LOL What a smart, idea. (I love butter, too.) :)
Hi Linda! I LOVE your videos and recipes. I wanted to make this for my family and my son doesn't like nuts so I put in some Heath toffee bits covered in chocolate instead. Other than that I followed your recipe exactly and this cake came out perfect. It was so moist and flavorful. I would have never thought to use sour cream in a box cake mix but I am convinced. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us all. I would love to see you and Sam in one of your future videos.
Every time I put chips in, they sink (even when I flour them first) and only the cake releases when done leaving an inch layer of streusel looking butterscotch in the bottom of the pan. I’ll try the pudding and cream cheese. Hope that helps.
@@Handsthatcook I made the cake and it turned out great! I think your method has a much heavier batter then just using the cake box directions. No sinking chips! Thanks for sharing.
Well you did it again!!!!!! I don't know how I missed that one. If Sam ever needs a break just mail it to me and I'll be glad to do his job! HOPE you and your folks are making it through this weather Part of Smiths got hit pretty bad. We were lucky so far the worst part was going without power all day but folks down the road from us lost their homes but so far thank God no one was hurt. Ya'll stay safe, and keep on cooking!!...((hugs)) deb
Hey Deb, I've been thinking about you and your family with all the storms and tornados...I knew it was bad in your neck of the woods. I'm so glad to hear from you! These storms bypassed us all together. We got just a little rain. No heavy storms. I was prepared with my football helmet and a horn. I don't have a whistle but I'm going to get one! You've got to have your daughter make this cake for you. It's delicious! Take care and thanks for watching!!!!!

I have that problem too but not always. I don't know what causes it when you've added flour. Try using less chips. TFW God bless!
