Nice, long, informative, video for people. I do a lot of hard line, too. For people looking for these parts...the collar, is called a sleeve. So, you'll need a nut and sleeve, for each end. Also, you don't want to run hard line all the way to the engine. You'll want some braided/flexible line from hard to engine. Or else, the hard line will fatigue and crack, over time, from the vibrations.
This is a good tip! I do have jumper lines to my motor up front. I jumper anything that may move around a bunch. Like frame to motor. Thank you Fun Fun!
What fuel filter set up do you run?
amazing , now I know I am
not the only one working with
180 hard line tubing bends ..
exc. video
This is how I do it. I prefer hard lines. Your not alone!
@@Burndown I have stainless braided lines made. they only have JIC or NPT ends . JIC 37 degree .. needed all kinds of adapters .. 👍
The hard line looks so clean ! Great tips on how to install 👌
I like hard lines. I even enjoy brake lines haha. I hard lined all the air lines on the 59 im working on too 😆. Its a sickness.
Thanx Eddie, great clip. I have some hard lines I wanna fit. Removing Rubber from my Fuel line.
I now know a Shed Load more than I did 30 mins Ago.
Tool choice was an Issue for me. And you Nailed that..!
Its all about the Tricks n Tips. Mainly "Dont Forget the Fixings before you Flare.!"
And yes, I have done that before. When I was a Kid with a New Licence, Old Banger and No Idea..!
Thanks So Much for your Efforts and Sharing your Tips..!
Cheers All

Thank you for watching and for the comment!
Great info!
Thanks for watching!
I just bought stuff to start messing with hard lines recently. That clamp looks nice. The brake line clamp I was using marred up the line.
Imperial is the way to go. You'll spend a few more bucks but its worth it. Your hot side and welding are on point man. I just got a tig a little while ago and need to start making boogers with it on some Aluminum and stainless. Keep up the good work man!
@@Burndown Seat time, seat time. The 350z oil pan, and triple turbo stainless project really helped. Forced me into big projects I couldn't walk away from without leaning something. Easy to lose it too if not doing it a lot unfortunately.
@@Burndown Scooped one up today from speedway, with some spring benders. Maybe get a big bender kit later. 👍
Great video man.
Thank you! Hope it helps you make cool stuff!
good shit homie!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
Interesting. Never seen aluminum fuel line, always coated steel. But I don't live near Long Beach, CA. Upper Midwest salt belt during our 5 month polar vortex. When I was a kid, we called it winter.
I make all my stuff with Alum. Its either that or stainless and stainless is a pain to bend.
Nice work
Thank you!
Yes, this is helpful.
Glad you think so!
Thanks for sharing, I want to do hard line for fuel between two dual EFI kits behind the air shroud on my 67 VW bus engine... I didn't like the engine builder guy installed rubber hose in front... doesn't look that good haha
Your welcome. Hope it helped
I totally dig your Winny. The 70s models rock
Thank you!
This guy's knows his shit about lines this is the type of guy that can built anything from nothing very smart thanks for posting
Well thank you for the complement. I was just talking to my wife the other day about the Maliboom and how far we have come with the car as we are going to hang a shoot on it this year and go for low 9's and further if it will go. Crazy to see old videos of the car run now. The good old days 😆
Best example ever
Hope it helps
Great video Dane, excellent info. Keep us posted on the #giveaway and I'm looking forward to seeing the Boom doing it's thing in 2023.
I have a video on the new merch ideas ill post up the end of the week! I got some new artwork in yesterday and have a poster that I would like to print up!
Not all brand AN fittings neck down like that like vibrant performance fittings if u spend the money the cheaper stuff will be a -8an but the inner diameter will be the size of -6an but I think the hard line looks alot cleaner
Yes you are correct. The better fittings are usually the correct size. I thought the ones on my line were ok but they were the smaller size.
I feel stupid admitting that I didn’t know my tubing cutter had a built in reamer, now I know what that’s for!
I try to learn something every day. Its usually the little things I get excited over too haha.
Could you get me the part number to the little line you had there that you would cut and reuse? Or was that just a small piece that you put together
-8 feed and -6 return
How do you feel about the flexible aluminum hard line?
This is aluminum hard line. 3003
They have a plumbing device that is supposed to work pretty well for cleaning up the bur
Ill look into it. It would save me a lot of time I bet. If I find a good one ill let you guys know. I have never even looked for one. Thanks for the tip.
I’m assuming you use aluminum tube sleeve fittings with aluminum tube and stainless tube sleeve fittings on stainless tube?
Yes and yes
I learned a ton from this!!
This is all stuff I learned form doing lots of lines and making lots of scrap. Hope it helped you. I expect to see some hard line on your car now 😁
@@Burndown I have plans of running turbo LS in my 57 Chevy!
I seriously don't know how u only have 12k subs man I feel like should atleast have 50-100k
Ya but sloppy should have like a million too
We are growing. I have been recommended once by youtube and it was crazy how any subs showed up. Ill just keep plugging away. Im enjoying the process and at some point I may not be able to answer all you guys like this in an evening so ill take advantage of it while I can!
I would love to see Matt with Cleetus money! That would be rad.
@@james10739 1000% true
@@Burndown ull get there buddy i see so many channels With awesome content better then channels that have 10x the amount of subs it just takes time i guess and figuring out the "youtube algorithm"
Wish I would have seen this 30 years ago, I would have saved a shit load of money on braided lines.
Got heaps of braided hosing, for some reason I cut without measuring or bought the wrong size.
Always thought I would use it at some stage.
"Boy was I wrong'
I have some braided hose sections that I keep on the shelf "just incase" as well but they have lots of dust on them 🤣
nice work tho, where can I find that filter?
Tractor supply
@@Burndownaccident, I meant the filter housing.
@@ProudlyNobody tractor supply for both
I was literally thinking about this when i got the notification
Like Magic!
If you pay the money for decent tools, you don't have to work so hard. I have Rigid reamer (reams inside and outside), and an ARES flaring tool. It's impossible to mess up the flare. I just wish I could find a bender that won't kink the tube...
I could use a reamer for sure.
What did the tornado say to the car?
Want to go for a spin?
Is that what they call a knee slapper ? 🤣
Might spill a little fuel when you change that filter.
I actually flipped it over today. A friend pointed out it might hold air if its upside down like this so now the filter screws in from the bottom like normal.
Yea, they are, ive got a 3 year old female, shes always into something
Yep! haha
Why use a tube cutter when a cut off wheel will take 0.25 seconds?
Not being an ass.. genuine question..
Tubbing cutter cuts nice and square every time. If you use a little pressure at a time it won’t burr very bad so it’s easy to clean out. You could use a cut off wheel and just file it flat. Plus I use cut off wheels almost daily so any time I can not put goggles on and risk flinging stuff into my eyes I’ll take it haha. Just personal preference
@Burndown thanks for the reply bud. Yeah I completely understand I'm just a 0 patience kind of guy and though f that I'd zip that off with the dewalt quick smart Lol.
Love the video thought. I'm about to hard line my rig and I learnt everything I needed to know from your video.
Keep them up. Sending love from Australia
@@simonhardgrave4568 I have made too many lines quickly that weep and I end up redoing so I’m a one and done guy. Thanks for watching! Love all you guys form OZ!🙌
You forgot the sleeve
It will happen to everyone at some point!
😆
