Tom Binns, the guy who plays Ivan, is SO underrated imo. Without a doubt, Ivan Brackenbury and Ian D Montfort (another one of his characters) are two of the best comic creations in recent times. Please react to Ian D Montfort too!
My favourite joke of his is when he says, the hospital has a patient with an inoperable brain tumour so he plays Kylie Minogue: Can’t get you out of my head
Tom Binns is a legend. He taught himself how to cold read a room like the pros for his fake psychic act, and also taught himself ventriloquism (very very funny) During lockdown he got a stage built on the roof of a van and toured with open air socially distanced shows in theatre & pub car parks.
*Tom Binns* aka *Ivan Brackenbury* plays a fortune teller in *Eaten by Lions* (2018) a comedy feature film, produced by a production company whose company address is just a normal house less than a mile away from me. It's also partly filmed in my city, and stars at least two people from my city. The comedy cast include: *Johnny Vegas* (from *Benidorm, Celebrity Juice, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Still Open All Hours* etc), *Jack Carroll* (disabled comedian who came 2nd on *Britain's Got Talent* in 2013), *Asim Chaudhry* (from the *People Just Do Nothing* mockumentary comedy series and film), *Kevin Eldon* (from *Game of Thrones,* plus many mainly weird British comedies), *Peter Slater* (from *Ideal* which stars *Johnny Vegas* as the lead, plus many more sitcoms where he usually has cameos), *Natalie Davies* (from *Hullraisers* a sitcom based in Kingston-upon-Hull), *Vicki Pepperdine* (from *Getting On* a sitcom with *Jo Brand* as the lead, plus many more sitcoms), *Sarah Hoare* (from *Chewing Gum* which isn't funny, plus bit parts in other comedies), *Nitin Ganatra* (from the soap *Eastenders* however he's done lots of comedy roles) etc etc.
My favourite Ivan Brackenbury gag is a jingle he makes for his colleague, Joan Arkwright who does a country music show on hospital radio. She has been off air because of a prolapsed uterus. Ivan's jingle goes: Joan Arkwright's Count-ry Tracks'
This comedian is so funny, love his skits. He does a few, lot of repeated bits but some are different each time. He’s also been on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, and been at Glastonbury
You guys should check out his 2 appearances on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown. I think there is a video with both appearances back to back on the Channel 4 YT page.
Haha, the bar scene in the intro is filmed at Ashton Gate stadium, home of Bristol City football club and Bristol Bears Rugby club. You should adopt them as your teams 👍👍👍
Other recommended songs for hospital radio : 'Going underground' The Jam, 'The Drugs Don’t Work' The Verve, 'Never can say goodbye' The Communards (A favourite for those in a coma we are not told), 'Staying Alive' and 'NIght Fever' Bee Gees and 'Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door' Bob Dylan......I am so so sorry....
you should play fur elise by Beethoven in your intros, better than GotG (Guardians Of The Galaxy) music, imagine being one of the patients! I'd be in anxiety hoping that nobody has sent a song my way
My goodness 12lb 12oz!! He was HUGE. I was tiny by comparison. Puts my back pain into context. 🤔 Great Reaction! 😂 Very pleased you enjoyed it. Some reactors don't get the idea for several jokes, but you were tuned in from the start. 👍👍 I love the sponsors message " ... for women who marry for money". I was one of the folks who suggested that. He was on "8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown" ("8oo10cdc" Channel 4). However I guessed it might be better to try him on a different channel. Part of the attraction of "8oo10cdc" is 'Dictionary corner' where a less known comedian gets a chance to appear on TV and reach quite a large audience. UK standup Holly Walsh is frequently on radio, but rarely on TV some visual comedy: _Holly Walsh's Best Bits_ ua-cam.com/video/6jzZQjoVxS8/v-deo.html (gentle) 'Mary Berry' was a Great British Bakeoff Judge Best Wishes. ☮ Another plug for _"Miriam Margolyes on Graham Norton"_ ua-cam.com/video/7aBbbtCBWtw/v-deo.html she is a _great_ raconteur.

Before hospitals has bedside TV most hospitals had an on-site radio station in the basement, wired to all the beds
I really like that bar scene
