I thought so! I have colleagues pay for the service every year and it’s not cheap, but they love the service because their husbands don’t like getting up there and hanging lights. I think there’s definitely a need for it. I probably would be more festive if I had help like this.

We would be liable for anything that goes wrong like a fire.
Hot lights resting on dry leaves can create a fire hazard. Check new and old light strings and decor for things like frayed wires, damaged insulation, broken or cracked sockets, and loose connections. Since it is their lights, I would have to talk to a lawyer About who would be liable. Not sure who would be liable the manufacturer of the homeowner or the installer that is something to look into if going to do this side business.

Do you need to have a llc? Or insurance Incase of fire?
I’d talk to a lawyer about llcs. I think for most applications you probably won’t have to worry about it but if you wanna be extra careful, it definitely doesn’t hurt to protect yourself in case of an unlikely event. People that have very extravagant light displays might be more risky of a fire.
