I love the concept of mocktail pickups, implying the Fashion Police aren't actually drinking on the job. This game is full of so many great touches.
easily the best "minor detail" in this game is how consistent everyone is in thinking socks with sandals are the literal worst crime anyone could physically commit
all the coverage of this game is so wild becuase one of the lead devs is a good friend of mine. its very surreal.

when the hackerman runway screen came up i literally started appluading and then when he gangnam styled i gave it a standing ovation i love this so much
Considering the boss' entire theme, a few older memes just make that scene *work* so well. They weren't trying to force it, it just comes in naturally.

Played this as a demo a while ago, and honestly it was a breath of fresh air for a boomer shooter that has a unique style
SOMEONE ELSE REFERENCED THE CHOWDER PEPPER SPRAY JOKE! That might be one of my favorite jokes on television ever, competing only with another Chowder joke of marker getting on the "viewers screen" and then saying they can't buff out the CN Logo from the bottom right corner.
Seriously though I thought I was one of 1 people who even remembered/liked Chowder. XD
This is the first time I think a review of a game has got me to stop watching it, buy the game, FULLY BEAT IT, and then come back excited to watch the rest. You did your job, Trav--this shit was Fabulous.

fun fact, the "sewing machine gun" gag (insofar as I know), goes back to 1970's THEY CALL ME HALLELUJAH, an Italian action-comedy about a mercenary (the titular "Hallelujah") hired by Mexican revolutionaries to steal jews so they can buy gatling guns. Hilarity ensues as the main character must also contend with an insane breakdancing Russian with a weaponized guitar and a secret service agent disguised as a nun.
Personally I like how upbeat it is for an FPS

I’m a little ashamed in myself for having not played the demo during next fest (or really anything other than Anger Foot) but it’s good to see that this game lives up to Civvie’s word. Will definitely check out as soon as I can, looks hilarious!

Just checked it out. Every 2 characters of his name corresponds to a byte, which corresponds to a specific ascii character, that all spells out “Hackerman”.

Oh yes! Fashion Police Squad! I love this game so much! Still need to play Prodeus but still, this game is a banger. It's funny, and I love the referential humor. Platforming here is to die b/c I hate FPS platforming.

It's telling that for the first time ever while watching one of your videos I straight up stopped at the spoiler warning because I wanted to play it myself, and having now finished both the game and your video, goddamn was it a wild ride. The hackerman boss fight will live in my head rent free for the rest of time.
Sidenote, but one small thing I noticed about the Fab Barrels is that contrary to exploding barrels, their explosions actually *heal* you... because of course they do, they're filled with FASHION. They actually became a really useful tool for surviving aside from just instantly defeating enemies, as if I was low on health I'd blow them up while I was close enough.

This was in my school vr game where there was a lesser fashion crime turned effect ( odd socks in fashion police but in my school vr game these switch units legs with something else and fyi Goalius is immune to it kinda he actually gets a different pair of legs that ever fires beams have hidden compartments or have pile bunkers in the heels ) and get this the negative fab energy was used when in the game goalius used the negative fab energy to free ryuko maktoi from MCgalise fareed control and get this goalius fucks off as soon she wakes up

@@ThatTravGuy I'm not from the US, so I'm not familiar with watergate. I grew up associating the term with MGS instead, where I first heard it. Since this game has references to other games, I figured it was referencing MGS, which itself was referencing watergate.

This may sound weird, but I'm glad you reviewed this. That music undoubtably reminds me of a Sonic game (I think Sonic 3) and if this ever does come to console (or the soundtrack is put on LP) I would definitely play/buy it - don't have the best PC. That said, I was looking up reviews on this and I was a little stunned by the low ratings. I wasn't looking up ratings in an effort to dismiss the game, but having read what I read I agree with you this is pretty much destined to be a cult/sleeper hit.
I think otherwise. Negatives outweigh positives of removing youtube dislike count. I don't even see more positives than "one positive" which is to "fight bullying", but comment section still exists and they didn't need to remove it for this reason. People should just stop being so sensitive, that they are listening or reading all those bullies comments, that they can easily ignore. I was bullied in real life, not internet, which is worse and ignoring them worked, so it should work even more in internet. But there are more negatives. Okay one, but massive. It allows creators of crappy movies and tv shows, to hide real reception to them. Also it allows scammers to hide if their videos are promoting scam, there are still many of them. It allows creators of bad tutorials to hide how bad they are. In short cernsorship for bad reasons.
positives: big corporations can be more corporationlike because you don't know how the public feels about them

Discouraging hate raids. Dislikes can dramatically effect how a video performs in the algorithm, which would decimate smaller channels that were hit by those raids of organized mass dislikes -- I'm not talking about bad videos that deserve the dislikes, I'm talking about groups online that would target specific channels and try to ruin their wellbeing, which believe it or not, was a real thing.
@@ThatTravGuy I see where you're coming from, but the problem is that dislike raids still happen, and you can see the dislikes with an extension. just look at 4-chan and you'll find 14 year olds doing the same thing they have always done. so it may have slowed it slightly but it in no way solved the problem.

edit:also also bc i didn't think of this till later (A way youtube could effectively stop raids without wholesale removing the dislike button would be to remove its effect on the algorithm. Raids would likely continue for a time but as they would literally only help the channel, after a while they would probably fade into relative obscurity, only being used to send a message to companies without hurting any people.)
