I need help I recently purchase this monitor yesterday and I use it for my PS5 but in the left top corner I notice it said 60hz instead of 165hz if anybody can help me out that would be greatly appreciated
@@xCh3Riii may be late to this but your hz won’t change until you load into a game that supports 120hz so the main menu on ps will always be 60hz

Just picked this gem up last night for $235. looks like its further come down in price which makes it an absolute steal. Best monitor ive used since the old flatscreen CRT trinitrons that could go up to 4k+. what i did was set it to sport preset, up the brightness to 100 and the saturation up a little and its vibrant and gorgeous.

Bought this monitor on Cyber Monday sells last year, been loved it very much, this monitor is actually better in many ways comparing to lots of IPS panel monitors in the similar price range, surprisingly good gray and black uniformity, great viewing angle, not too bad on ghosting, minimum backlight breed, perfect curvature, the probably only con for this monitor is its terrible color pre-calibration, but this can be fixed by play around on settings.

Got this for £220 in the UK on a limited buying thing from dell. I actually love it, wasn't even after a monitor but cudnt resist at this price. Not quite as punchy colours as my ips 95hz monitor but side by side it now makes my 95hz monitor look choppy while this smoothes out FPS gameplay. The curved aspect is a game changer aswell on FPS titles, it just seems more immersive again side by side it just feels more natural and the old flat screen feels off somehow. Anyway thanks for the review it gave me an idea of what I was buying.

You mentioned the colors are not as punchy as those of the IPS panel but is the picture quality of the DELL S3222DGM better and deeper because of the higher contrast ratio or not?

Dell XPS, I wish I bought that. Great company, and they will custom make. I am just saying I regret not buying from Dell. Great Company they back there product. I bought a CyberPowerPC, I regretted it from day 1. The power button didnt work out of the box. It cost me $110 to fix it. I had no choice, it was that or send back to the company and wait 2 weeks on a brand new computer. IF I purchased the dell from their site, its not likely that a power button doesnt work out of the box. They have awesome Quality Control. IF I bought the Dell, I could have brought it to one of the hundreds of authroized Dell Shops. My family lives in the Middle East and there are Dell Authourized dealers everywhere. I recently bought a S3222DGF and an S3222DGM, both used and in perfect condition. $200 each. Very similar, interchangeable really though not quite identical. The DGF is slightly brighter with a slightly slower response time. The DGF also has a USB hub, a heavier base and can rotate.I thought I was an IPS all the way, ignore other options guy until I saw the DGF. It looks 95% as good as my 27" Omen IPS monitor, but is bigger and about 40% cheaper.
Also, my #2 rig is almost EXACTLY the same as yours in this vid. 9700, 32GB, 2070 Super into the S3222DGM.
I think you meant the s3220dgf as I don't see a s3222dgf.
Does it look similar enough to place it next to the dgm and not look odd?
I am having triple 32 monitors with a 4k in the center and the two Dells on each side.
I was going to get another DGM but I would not mind instead getting a dgf to get the couple extra features as long as they won't look too different and break symmetrical look if that makes sense lol

Just bought this based on your review its only $300 now on the dell deals site! Replacing a 4k Costco 60hz monitor so I can run at 1440 and get more frames for Flight sim and higher refresh!
did you notice a big difference when you went from 4k to QHD? Or is this somehow well compensated by other features like bigger hz?
@@alexandergerd2402 I don't notice any difference from 4k to 1440. There was screen tearing and sync issues with the Costco monitor, this high hrz Is still very solid just wish it had HDR.
@@StevenKelley actually the HDR function doesn't matter if it's not an oled or minioled. Cause for other matrices this is just an imitation, but not real. Although some people like it too
I'm looking at this for my DAW and gaming setup. And seeing that warm audio LA2A looks like you make music also.
This is an older model as of 12/27/2023 this video is from 2 years ago. There are much better monitors now. This unit does not have HDR. And HDR is huge. It also has a Display Port 1.2 which dates back to 2010. The newer monitors have display port 1.4. Check your GPU, if its capable of 1.4 then its a big upgrade over DP 1.2. I am just saying I returned this unit because I felt that I am already 2 years behind. If you dont care about when the monitor came out and DP 1.4 its a great buy. The colors did seem a bit off... The curve is pretty cool.

Thanks so much for actually showing the dimensions in a real world setting. The specs on every store listing only list the height for when the monitor is positioned at the bottom of the adjustable stand. I was trying to figure out if this thing would actually fit on my desk, and you solved my problem.

@@Jimbeamlahey did you go into the display settings on ur ps5 and change it to 1440p? not all games run 120 hz but usually there’s a setting that u have to turn on in the game to run 120hz
update: i love this monitor, i just had to get used to the size. if i were given the opportunity to switch it with a smaller size i wouldn’t, definitely a great buy!!
@@collingravy5880 idk why but you have to manually switch it on the ps5 from 1080 to 1440 and 120hz I was so bummed when I got it lol 1080 at 60 looked like shit

During Cybermonday sales, the S3222DGM was $320CAD and the S2722DGM was $250. I went with the smaller screen and it's amazing. I imagine the bigger 32 inch screen is just as excellent

what settings and modes do you guys recommend for this monitor. very new to this so just want a good baseline as to where to start.
Literally just bought it from best buy after PC mag says "is gud, but it" and now im watching a review of the monitor im watching it on. So far, so good. Came from a 1080P 144hz TN panel which was amazing for gaming, but not much else. This definitely isn't as quick and there is some blur, but literally everything else looks 10 times better.
Bro best buy has it for $408 and Dell has it on their website for $299.

man your links are showing the DHM and the HG model. which one did you get? the DGM model is the 1440 p model

@@michaelgreco8614 Color wise the S3222 looks way better to me. The S2721 I had was defective as even on 100 brightness it was extremely dark. The 32 is definitely heavier though so make sure your desk can handle it's weight

On this monitor is it best to use the HDMI or DP cable. Mine came with both. Dell s3222DGM.
DP. HDMI can only handle 144hz while DP can support 165

@@clawson32104 nope, less connectivity, this one can't rotate, and no HDR, 8 bit panel vs 10 bit panel a lot of differences. The 3222 has faster response time.

As he said, the top button is also like a joystick/directional stick. Press it, and navigate with it to the left menu items and look for the icon that looks like a tablet with lines across (item 6 down from top item, I think). Press on this with the same top button and then navigate to the English option and press again.
Was the UFO test done with Pixel Response time set at Fast, Fastest or Extreme? Rtings Reported that Extreme was the recommended setting. Thanks!

The medium overdrive on these monitors seems to eliminate ghosting 👍🏻. The extreme is bad

Best monitor for console in my opinion supports 144hz via hdmi but most console only capable of 120hz also the 1440p resolution is crisp

Got this monitor one or two weeks ago and i was wondering if you've experienced frames messing up when you go full screen on certain shows or movies that have the black border on them. Would my monitor be faulty or has this also been happening to you?
I've gone through many monitors since this review but during my time with it I didn't experience any of those issues

07:20, at the door on the left side you can clearly see blacksmearing. That was the reason I gave my S3220DGF away... For working with - great, for games - no go.
With IPS the same door will be just a black (dark gray) stain with no middle tones and in dark room will have IPS glow...
@@debnadaebna9981 I switched back to my Dell S2716DG. A few month ago I tried out the ASUS VG27AQ (IPS). In dark areas (photos) it loses much details against the Dell with a TN-Panel. Now I wait for the 42" OLED from LG to arrive 2022. The C9 which I got 2 years ago showed that the AMD Big Navi cards did not support real VRR. It such a mess with the tech today^^ (First world problems).

After going back and forth between this, and the GB M27Q, the Optix MAG274QRF-QD, and even the Samsung Odyssey G7, I’m leaning heavily toward this one… not only is it more affordable, it actually outclasses those other monitors in a few areas that r important to me.
Personally, does anyone have any opinions when comparing this with the ones I mentioned? Obv the SS Odyssey G7 is a favorite of many.

right now I think you would get more gpu for the dollar with the AMD cards. Unless you need the cuda cores for some work then no reason you couldnt go with another AMD card.

Yes me too but I think the GIGABYTE will have way worse black smearing and not good options to reduce it while the Dell model has better control over it, from what I have seen on other reviews. I am interested to know how is the picture quality and are the colors good.

If you mean use if as secondary monitor I assume..then yes. I'm doing this right now. I set it at hdmi 144hz. Also don't forget to go in display settings and switch this monitor to rgb color. It's mind blowing

@@vukaleksic8304 ...The Dell S2721DGF is perfect for the series X/S unless you absolutely need a 32" panel. If so.... either thecS3220 or S3222 will do 1440p@120hz with Variable Refresh Rate enabled.
