Pattern work in the Cessna Cardinal 177B

It's a full-length video of me doing 2 practice takeoff and full-stop landings, with video from just after the run-up, to taxiing back to the hangar after final touchdown - and everything in between. Still knocking off the rust after a long winter and a Covid spring. Enjoy!
I'm about to get a check out in a cardinal. I was hoping to hear more data, i.e. instead of "I'm a little fast" say something along the lines of your desired speed at that point in the pattern. What are your RPM and manifold settings. Stuff like that would be great. Thanks for posting up videos for those of us looking to learn about the different planes!

You are right on the pattern. The camera plays tricks on perspective but regardless, I am consistently too far out. Have to work on that.

Nice landing after not flying for awhile. You were really getting pushed around on short final. What is the yellow item on the co-pilots sun visor? looks like a garage door opener, but im sure it's something else. New wheel pants look great by the way. RM
Thanks! The yellow thing is a co2 detector. Agree on the wheel pants - they definitely add to the 177's good looks!

What do you propose for audio popping? Are you going to just try a filter?
When I take the Cardinal up to get the new G5 HSI installed (I've been on the install waiting list for months), I plan to have them look at the audio wiring to see what can be shored up there. I also (may) move the headset plug-in location. Where it currently is, I keep hitting it with my knee.
Plane flying and landing interesting. Plane on taxiway not so much.
I went back and looked at the footage and yep, I agree. I had too much taxiing/discussion footage in there. Will mental-note that in the future. Thanks for the feedback.
Beautiful airplane but asymmetric dash no good and push pull throttle /mixture/rpm archaic system even worse !
In the 80's I like many made fun of these. Today it would be my first choice in a GA factory built plane. Amazing what some years can do to improve the perspective. The Cardinal's reputation was destroyed by under informed journalists looking to create a sensational story and by gullible pilots who bought the bs. Except for the first production year, entirely undeserved. Not entirely deserved for the first year.
This is a colossal waist of time. Nothing to be learned here.
