Have enjoyed your videos from cold Canada for a long time. I’m so happy for you both. A real adventure and a great inspiration for the rest of us. Thank you and enjoy a new chapter of your lives.
Congratulations, Gerhard and Jackie(y)! What a feeling it must have been to get that first glimpse of Table Mountain after yr circumnavigation! I only stumbled upon yr channel about four videos back at Richard's Bay and love it! I'm going to start back at Video Nr 1 now and follow yr journey!😀⛵️
Hey guys - I have not commented for a while - but still watched - shew who would have thought around the world - well done to both of you and Avanti - congratulations how exciting for you - sheesh lekker manna.
Great video, so proud of you, well done 🎉. Wil somer ook dankie sê vir die saam seil met al die mooi video's. Alles wat mooi is vir julle vir die toekoms, ek gaan verseker die weeklikse video mis. Groete
You guys has been a breath of fresh air. Some with a more down to earth perspective on the stuff that you have been doing. Honest, positive, and friendly. Not pushing loud opinions on everybody, like so many sailing channels do. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much for sharing these videos with us. I am so glad I came across your UA-cam channel. If you are ever in Norway, let me know, and I'll take you sailing if the season is right. You know how to find me. Best regards from Jarle
Well sailed you two ! You have mastered the Indian Ocean very well. Knysna heads ...well done !! Can you give us a bit more of details of your yacht ? Length , displacement . draught etc. I used to race a L34 . Welcome home !
@@sailingavanti4902 Seeing you guys returning home and pulling into RCYC actually brought tears to my eyes. Fond memories of RCYC--that is where the former owner of our boat and I toasted each other to the happiest days of our lives as boat owners: the day I bought my boat and the day he sold her!
@@maarten_notjustagrip yes. We passed Agulas at night, when Gerard was nice and red and then only passed Cape point in day time after Gerard spotted Table mountain over False bay
I have a few questions: Did you ever seriously consider not completing the full passage, and then how did you decide to not stop but carry on? And then since @jacqi said we may ask about money, how much did the entire passage cost (excluding the cost to buy and refurbish Avanti)
I reckon I’m gonna be super politically incorrect and start a channel, reviewing sailing wives much like Gerard does with beer! So for Jacqui, I’m gonna say “highly competent, honest, beautiful to look at, authentic….so I am going to have to say 10 out of 10! 😂💪 Well done guys - and what a decent channel you created - useful and authentic! 💪
