I'm really glad you guys came back to cover Demon's Souls! Even though I've never tried speedrunning it, I fully sympathize with Nax's complaints about the Pure Bladestone. My second ever build was a sharp/dex build, so I also grabbed that Falchion right at the start of 4-1 and then had to get all the bladestone I needed to max it out. I farmed that stupid skeleton for literal hours trying to get the Pure Bladestone I needed to max it. Also always good to hear how much you've come around on DS2!
Yeah, it sounds absolutely horrible. I will never go for all achievements outside of the new version. OF IT EVER COMES TO PC!
@@tstable25 I believe they increased the drop rate of it in the remake, so another good reason to hold off! Except then you'll have to deal with multiplayer achievements too haha

@@tstable25 it doesn't look too bad actually: help a player kill a boss, and defeat an invader. At least it's not like "kill 10 invaders".

I'm quite happy the remake exists, but I shot it in the foot by playing it right after Elden Ring... resulting in it feeling dreadfully slow in comparison. Still, it deserves to be remembered for what it did.
Thats fair; playing the original after Elden Ring is a terrifyingly different experience. I find myself in the fortunate position of being able to separate them slightly, and I think I played the original before Elden Rings' release.
