That time capsule you picked up is from another real player who has beaten the game and left the planet, leaving behind a time capsule that includes a typed out message and a few items they decided to put inside. You can read that player’s time capsule message in your PDA.
This is one of my favorite parts of the game! Such a cool idea.
That is so so so cool. Will do this in Ep 6
As someone who kicked themselves for not doing it sooner, I'd highly recommend you finish building the Scanner Room. It is extremely useful.
It can be rather touchy about being attached to other rooms though, if you can't get it to attach it may be worth building that first and then expanding from it.
To add to this tip, make the scanner room HUD chip in the upgrade console inside the scanner room(should automatically equip)
This makes whatever you scan with the scanner room appear on screen
@@YTshashmeera Pfft, the scanner room is useless without the HUD chip.
also add maximum range upgrades for the room itself.
For others reading the above comment, if you use the mouse wheel it rotates the base parts 90 degrees when trying to build them with the habitat tool. This is half the reason the parts don't snap together the other problem is often you are too close with the new part. Just swim away further especially for the larger rooms, so they snap to green on your existing base.
Great fun. Love how the game slowly draws you farther and farther into the depths. At first, 50m is so deep, then 100, now 200 is nothing but 300m is scary. The game design is amazing. And don't worry, everyone makes dozens of trips back to the first pod when building a base, forgetting where everything is and that the sub has a storage now. You are doing great.
I'm glad you're enjoying the playthrough 💜 You're so right, sometimes I forget how deep I am and panic when I realise lmao.
Thank you so much, I'm really enjoying the game - even the bits when I'm lost and confused 😂
I keep catching myself checking for new episodes every time, loving the series 💚
The purple caves are near your new base, big purple shrooms, not the purple algae near the safe shallows.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! Thanks for clarifying, I would've got lost lmao
Interesting how the thalassophobia is ... becoming less of an impedance over time.
And it's great to see the understanding and exploration increasing.
(Don't forget to look in the databank at the details of the new stuff you've scanned... and the wrecks.. they're not just scenery...)
Keep going. you'll see how deep this goes :D
I see that her fear is mostly to empty ocean space, but once she gets focused on things, she forgets she's how many meters deep in the ocean. By the time you reach deeper locations, you sort of lose the feeling of being deep cause all you see is cave ceiling instead of big open ocean space.
She hasnt even come close to the real thalassophobia yet. Just wait until she has to visit the grand reef. Or, better yet, stumbles into the dead zone.
@@michaelmera2846 Indeed - mine is too (although being enclosed underwater is a particular fear of mine) but it's interesting to compare the initial forays into even the shallow water, to the relatively bold movements we have now.
@@orange_turtle3412 Oh, i know. But don't reveal too much too quickly - step by step :)
You're so right. When I'm focusing on doing something, I tend to forget where I am or what I'm doing. When I remember it's a shocker though. I'm glad you're enjoying the playthrough 💜
I think that you have a lot of potential here on YT, Keep up the good work and im sure you will quickly grow! I love your content!
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos 💜
The fluid analyser is a decoration that you can place down by putting it in your hot bar
I caught up, yippeee! I can't wait for the next video!
Yippeeee, welcome to the present 💜 I'm so glad you're here
The yellow gas that is dropped by those stinky guys is bad for you only if you are out of your transport, so you if you are in your transport, you can go through it. I love watching you running in all kinds of fish and rocks, hurting your Goose and saying sorry to him . Btw on 14:22 I looked at your face and I just realised how tough you will go deeper (spoiler:around 1200 m (Please be fine after you read this)) And those things on the plant that you call eyes are not eyes, relax. Wish you look, I will probably comment on your next Subnautica video. And wow. You gain subscribers so fast. Wish you more, you need more because of your struggles.
Ooo I didn't know that! Thanks, I'll be floating through the fart clouds np now. I always feel bad for Goose, I'm such a terrible Seamoth driver 😅
1200m? I am not okay 🤣.
Thank god they're not eyes, that's traumatising nightmare fuel. and thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos and that I have such an incredible group of people coming along for the journey with me 💜
Oof I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm more scared when you go into the depths than you are!! You're doing so well!!
Thank you so much! 🤗 It's enough to scare anyone honestly 😢
Such a fun series! :D I'm pretty sure you used the copper wire for the radio, or that might just be the case of the wandering copper wire XD
I'm so glad you're enjoying it! 🫶 If not the radio, then yes. We'll need to get Sherlock in here
Enjoying the vids, you're doing great
I'm glad you're enjoying them, thank you 💜
Another ep! Great! Keep 'em coming ^^
More to come!
I think it was you but it may have been someone else I said this to -- Subnautica has a way of making you feel like a complete dunce your first playthrough. But in every blind playthrough I've watched, at some point roughly 4-8 hours in, everyone suddenly gets their feet under them. So don't worry! We all remember our silly mistakes from our first playthrough, and it's surprisingly fun watching other people make the same exact ones lol. None of us think you're making silly or dumb mistakes because we've all been there (especially because there's like, so many different crafting stations in Subnautica that it's sometimes hard to keep track of them).
I'm also so proud of you for finally moving out of your lifepod! 👏👏👏 It's a big first step!
(Floor lockers give you more storage if you need it; I usually have ~11 when I play. Once you get more floor space in your base I highly recommend upgrading.)
It really does, but I really feel like I'm starting to figure it out. Slowly but surely lmao. I'm glad everyone's enjoying the silly mistakes with me, it's what makes the game so much fun.
Thank you so much, I feel super pleased with the progress thus far 💗💗💗
@@vahlanayru You’re doing great!!!
Lockers don't fair well aesthetically in the Moon pool, when I don't put them in a multipurpose room, I prefer to place them in the corridors; you can put two on each side in connector parts and that's a real asset for basic things such as equipment you need before you exit.
God Moonpool Modification Station. Found First Officer Keen's lifepod. Found the rendezvous location. Met the shooty-plant. And met a new aquatic creature!
Also, I like that you took the time to read the PDA entries when you got them. That's a pretty good idea.
Looking forward to the next one!
Alllll the progress! I'm so glad I did, It really adds so much to the story of the game. I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🤗
you are becoming an expert !!!I am excited to see this, I've been waiting you are doing well and i am enjoying this tremendously Edit It is really enjoyable to watch this game grow on you. you should be proud of yourself for not giving up.
Thank you so much!! I am really enjoying the game, i'm glad you're with me for the journey 💜
Crap, I forgot I was supposed to watch this 😂
I got distracted by yt shorts
Fun fact: The time capsule you found is actually from someone else who already beat the game. At the end of the story you get to create a time capsule, put stuff in it, and write a message to another player. Then the game saves your time capsule to some online database and it will randomly spawn in other people’s games. So what you found was left there for you by another player. The message they wrote should be in your PDA somewhere if you want to read it.
Yeahhh, she should read the time capsule's text too!
This is so so so cool. I recorded Ep on the same day as Ep 4 but will definitely be reading this first before moving on!
You're doing amazing right now!
Here's another smol tip, you can build any chair(habitat builder, need blueprints) to sit on so that you can read & listen to the PDAs without depleting your hunger or thirst!
Or if you want to build a glass observatory and relax inside it :)
Thank you!
Omg this is awesome, thanks so much. Will sort this in ep 6! 💜
I can´t wait for the next episode! 20:33 But please, reed the time capsule, i´ve a lot of hype!
I recorded Episode 5 in the same session, but I promise to do this first thing in Ep 6! 💜
any player at the end of the game can put a picture and a text and some items in the time capsule for other players to find them random on ground
You can see the picture and text in your PDA
for anyone wondering
the intro and outro song is called: Construyendo en el Espacio by Luna Cantina
If you don't have Thalassophobia before playing Subnautica, you will after.
facts
A subnautica storage solutions tip: trashcan!
Let's you throw away things like an empty fire extinguishers :)
Really enjoying your enthusiasm and overcoming your fear!
Ooo what a good idea! Thanks!
and thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos 🤗
You can also build a Medical Kit Fabricator by the way (see at 5:00), it is not just for your pod.
OH! This is important so I left it as another comment.
Next time in-game press 'F11'!!
Very important! SUPER IMPORTANT! Press 'F11'!!
Scientists say pressing 'F11' with relieve your thalassophobia by at least 10% (+/- 15%)!!
Whhhyyy? Because it takes a screenshot and saves it to your PDA! You can then put these screenshots on stuff later (you'll see). I recommend hitting 'F11' every time you...
- See a new cool biome
- See a new spooky biome
- Meet a new creature
- Make a new friend
- Build a new ship
- Expand your base
- Find a neat thing
- Survive a harrowing danger
I (and many others) totally forgot 'F11' was a thing in my first playthrough and I wish someone had reminded me. Before you know it, you'll have a scrap-book of your adventures and accomplishments!
You also might, uh... really want a few good 'F11' screenshots before you finish the game for, uh... for no particular reason. >_>
Good luck!
Relieve your thalassophobia by at least 10% (+/- 15%)?! IM SOLD. Thanks for the heads up! I'll most likely cry looking back on them lmao
BEWARE: Keen's biome is the deepest "safe biome" apart from the (No spoilers, its blue). Beyond here, you'll meet extremely dangerous and hostile fauna that can kill you and traumatize you for life. Tip, Do Not Go Swimming In The Green Shit. Also, each biome has a mineral that'll take you deeper. Rubies, for example, will take you down to 900 meters. There, you'll find the material to take you even deeper.
19:05 Welcome to the Blood Kelp biome. Past this threshold, watch out for Braincrabs, Warpers (that's one at 24:46), and juvenile Ghost Leviathans. Braincrabs are scary, but not too dangerous. Warpers are dangerous, avoid them if you can because they can seriously harm you. (When you see one, MOVE. They'll gang up on you.) And Ghost Leviathans......if you hear a horrifying scream, run and don't look back. They're scary, and can kill you instantly.
I recommend you slow down and search the shallower biomes for tech to make life easier. You need a rebreather and a modification station. Finally, you should get the Seamoth Perimeter Defense System. It can repel the reaper:)
Edit: I see you have no compass. I highly advise you to get it, because directions are given by compass headings when you're given no waypoint. It can be found inside Lifepod 3.
That's the safest? 🫠 WTH is left to scare me in the green shit 🙃
I HATE BRAINCRABS are they the things I met on the Aurora? Or are they land only?
I do not want to meet another leviathan. One big snake boi is enough.
I'll be sure to fully kit myself out before diving any deeper, thanks so much for the tips 💜
@@vahlanayru Dw, the green shit isn't scary. Just don't go into it.....
My apologies, its actually called a Crabsquid. It makes clicking noises at various frequencies. They are basically floating spiders with a giant translucent head on top. (Looks like a giant brain to me, hence why I accidentally called it a brainsquid.) If you're still unsure, its attracted by light. It also does a fair amount of damage (40% health) so try to avoid it if you can.
Crabsnakes sound the scariest imo, but they're not too bad. Once again, a Seamoth Perimeter Defense system will do wonders. Its saved me from Reapers and Ghosties. Collect deep shrooms, white versions of acid mushrooms that grow at deeper depths, to manufacture the ingredients for the Seamoth Defense System. (They are in the advanced materials of the fabricator.)
1:12 YEEES, you're bad!
2:57 NO, you weren't soooirry.
Serious disregard for alien fauna. You'll see the revenge of Spadefish on your seamoth sooner than later. They take like 15 life points of your seamoth by just crashing onto them.
13:58 Such a cocky attitude by just going as deep as 80 meters.
14:01 OFF YOUR SEAMOTH??? What are you? Seamoth queen?
14:12 Thalassophobia is back baby. Nice face cringe, right on cue!
14:58 I wonder if you have a friend or relative called Ruby. I feel like we all meet a Ruby at some point.
18:38 Missed to scan the vent.
19:03 She literally took the wrong turn into the dark alley of a terrible bad and scary neighborhood.
At the end I see you fixing your base right after placing a window. There are only three base pieces that strengthen your base, and everything else weakens it!.
I still have an issue telling if you're british or aussie. I would love it if it was the latter, but in either case I like em both.
Keep it coming, I look forward watching your videos!
Hahahaha, I know I'm gonna learn my lesson. In the mean time, they can stayy awayyy from my seamoth.
I do not have a friend called Ruby, nor have I ever met one 🤔 I don't think
I DIDNT KNOW I COULD SCAN THE VENT 😭
Maybe I'm Aussie, maybe I'm British...who knows 🙊
I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos and are here for the journey! 💗
@@vahlanayru oh yes... i can't hardly wait for every episode. You're making us go back in time when we had to watch everything weekly. Yep, im old
Oh built those glass cupboards instead of the locker and built one for each ore or part, you will need those. And you will need that titanium as well.
Someday you can find some more islands at the rear of the aurora, meaning south of it, if you happen to find the compass.
Maybe it is a bit cheating, but with F1, you can see a console, that gives you your location, time and biome you are in. It's not changing anything or gives you a wall hack, so I think it's alright sometimes.
I found it cool to switch the colours of things on my scanner as well. So most important things like base are red, others are blue. And it's not a bad idea to have the seemoth in bright colours to stand out a bit from the less colourful deep sea
You are so much more confident than in the beginning! Congratulations!
Ooo thank you so much for the tips! I'll look into this.
Thank you so much, I'm really enjoying the game and excited to play more!
Make a rebreather ASAP. Otherwise,
✨oxygen efficiency decreased✨
Also, I think I can fall asleep with your soothing voice
Answer for question form ep2 you can fight back reaper with your knife + stasis rifle ( normal knife 240 hits/thermal knife 120 hits needed) also if you wanna just f off him you need a perimeter defense system
Ooo will have to start gathering the stuff to defend myself
@@vahlanayru also you doing great job 👍 you are brave girl I believe in you. You can be a professional reaper slayer 😁
Awesome ❤
Thanks 🤗
Just wanted to play Subnautica myself...
I think I'll play in VR today.
I made a deal with chat...1000 followers on Twitch and I'll do it
@vahlanayru The game isn't optimized for VR... I have a stutter ingame.
Just a warning.
But it still looks great, being in the Seemoth is fun in VR.
It's easier to tell which way you are going with a compass.
On my first play through the inventory annoyed me so much when i made my base that i built a second seamoth with 4 storage upgrades and a third moonpool with lockers all around so that i could transport and store materials all in one place
The transporting of inventory is so tedious and annoying but also super rewarding because you know you're levelling up. Super worth it!
@@vahlanayru it is but without spoiling too much you'll want to prepare a large amount of simple resources the further you venture away as some biomes don't have certain basic materials
Divine Beast VahGoose
This comment wins, you made me ugly laugh 😂
Dint u die in episode 3 so how did u get the stuff?
i'm a little disappointed that the scary soundtrack didn't kick in for her like it did for me the first time i saw the blood kelp biome lol
there's a scary soundtrack? 😢
Yeah, it’s great though lol
PDA pausing is kinda cheesee, tbh, it takes away from the game. The game feels more engaging when you know you can be attacked and that your stats are decreasing when you're looking at your "tablet thingy".
Maybe for you! But as someone with a slight ocean fear (not anyway as bad as hers) I have to have PDA pausing on bc there’s no way I’m being jump scared while reading. I’d never go back to the game. And not just that, some people read slower than others (like those with dyslexia) so running out of air every time you have to read anything is not exactly helpful. So for some, pda pausing takes away from the game, but for others it adds.
@@sleepysamcomments I'm pretty terrified of deep water, tbh, (understanding how Subnautica works helped me get by by a lot, tho, I'm still scared, but knowing what to expect helps a ton), I cannot play Stranded Deep for the life of me given this fact, so that's not really a factor. Also, I never read outside of my base or vehicle -- so if you decide to, that's a bad call on your part, not the game's fault if you get jump scared. And I do enjoy a sense of danger when looking through my inventory, knowing something might come for me, it's also more immersive and realistic, and this is a survival game, after all.
@@eddiemitza2544I’m glad you do!! And I’m happy you’ve figured out what’s best for you! And I’ve found what works for me! I don’t see the point in putting down how someone else plays the game.
@@eddiemitza2544plus, you reading it in base is no different than having pausing on. Literally the exact same thing. It stops both of us from being attacked? I truly don’t understand your side here. But again, I’m glad you’ve found what works for you and vice versa.
@@sleepysamcomments "plus, you reading it in base is no different than having pausing on. Literally the exact same thing." -- well, it's not the same thing, since the PDA pause takes effect when having any PDA tab opened, not only the Databank. I would've loved if you could only have the game paused when in the Databank, but have the rest of the PDA not pause the game.
And I'm not putting anything down, man. I just said that I think the PDA pause takes away from the game's experience. If you agree -- fine. If you don't agree -- still fine.
