      Such empty, general words. I mean, who's 'we'? What's the unity about? And what are they doing that is unstoppable? Conchita just tried to say something that would be remembered all time, like 'Veni, vidi, vici'. But he failed totally. His words just don't say anything.

    The audience is incredibly rude...
    I know Russia isn't popular, I get why, but there is a difference between russian politics/government and russian people, and booing two russian young girls who did their best to compete internationally just because you don't agree with russias politics is so vile, honestly.
    I know this is 2014, but it still pisses me off.
    The two sweet girls really didn't deserve that much hate, get a grip people.

      The girls didn't get the booh-s. The booh-s started when *"Russia!!!"* was screamed.
      I don't know what country you're from, but Russia needs to understand that you can't just abuse the LGBTQ community and treat them harshly in Europe.
      If it were up to me, we'd cut the off entirely, but untill that day comes, making our feelings clear if the least we could do for all the frightened gays and lesbians that are forced to marry heterosexual partners in Russia, out of fear of being kidnapped and 'dissapearing.'
      If you're forced to marry/birth a child with someone you don't love, that's rape. That deserves booh-ing, no matter how many happy dances or bows in your hair you've got.

    Molly did a really good job with the best entry the uk had for years. But - to be honest - the placing was a problem and , of course, mollys outfit (she looked like xena, the princess warrior) combined with the overall henna tatoos, which gave her a strange charme. Better luck next time. The only way is up! Go Britain!

But they had Malta, Montenegro, Belarus, Germany and Iceland (who obviously didn't have any chance) on the top.

      Widdekuu91 well, again don’t compare government and people. What government is doing is ridiculous. And about “kidnapping and marrying someone you don’t want” it happens only in muslim parts of russia. They have their own laws there. LGBTQ+ people who live in big cities of Russia have no problems. I assure you no one in Moscow cares if you gay or lesbian. I, for example, live in big city on South of Russia with population only 1.5 million people (it’s actually a lot for russia, because our population is very low) and we have at least three gay clubs, no one do no harm to people there. I even know straight guys who have no problems to go there with their gay or lesbian friends.
      But police and government is very homophobic everywhere in russia. But people, especially young people, don’t care about your sexuality at all, what is important is what kind of human being you are.

    • @Widdekuu91
      @Widdekuu91 5 років тому

      @@bugsbunnyknowsbetter
      I understand what you say when you tell me that young ones don't care, but when you then say; 'Police and government are very homophobic' isn't that already the clear reason why I agree that Russia was booh-ed?

    • @bugsbunnyknowsbetter
      @bugsbunnyknowsbetter 5 років тому

      Widdekuu91 yes, I understand what you mean. I was just trying to tell you that government and people are very different. Like, people in Russia don’t like and don’t agree with our government. For example, there is literally a law that says you cannot insult the government. There are people who go to prison because of memes. I’m not kidding.
      But again, there are good people and bad, close minded, people. I mean, we all know that Sergei Lazarev, who represented Russia in 2016 and 2019, is gay. And we still love him and support him. And think he has a great vocals and good songs. Because it doesn’t matter, what matters is he is good singer and nice human being.
      I just don’t want you to have that image of Russia as bad people who will beat you and insult you because of who you love.

      I understand. I defineately don't think of Russia as a country filled with people that hate gays. But I dó think of Russia as a country ruled by those kindof people.
      And so, I agree that they booh Russia, because I'm pretty sure the Russians that are pro-gay, will understand why it's happening and won't take it personal.
      If my country (Netherlands) elects a sortof Trump-person and we get booh-ed, I'd hope that my government would understand the message.

    Damn i was secretly hoping that the Netherlands woul lead at the minute. I don't get why Malta didn't give a single point to the Netherlands, same for eastern countries like Moldova and Azerbaijan (which prefered Austria!). Austria had a very good song but the Netherlands had the whole package. The Common Linnets were successful after Eurovision while Conchita made the headlines because of her appearance not as a singer

    Ok so im from the UK.
    I want to ask the rest Europe a question.
    Do you hate the UK?
    Is that why we never get any points at Eurovision?
    Or is it that our songs have been complete shit since we last won it in 1997?
    Or is it both?
    Please let me know.
    I mean I think its because our songs have been shit.
    It cant be out of hatred for the UK because we are a very welcoming country.
    Especially in the part im from which is Scotland.
    So why don't we get many points in the last few years?

      Actually, in my country a lot of people like the UK and its people.
      I think it's because of the songs (the 2013 one wasn't so good and this year Molly's song was beautiful but it needed several listens, so probably this fact put her down) and because you are an island (so you don't have neighbors...and, well you know how things work)

    • @vidmizz
      @vidmizz 10 років тому +2

      We don't hate the UK, it's just that a lot of people vote not for the songs themselves but for how "interesting" they are, like now. And if not that, they vote because of politics or because it is a neighboring country

    I think it's unfair for the big five (and the winner) to only be able to preform on the finale. This means that the qualifying songs will be heard at least one time more than the big 5. Usually you need to listen to a song several times before you can really start to appreciate it! So I think that two of the big five and the host country, will preform in one semi final, and the other three in the second, just to present their songs to europe!

    • @MusicCharms
      @MusicCharms 10 років тому +9

      I think that the 'Big Five' shouldn't automatically qualify. They should have to go through the semi-final voting process like everyone else. The one I can understand is the host country, that deserves automatic qualification.

    • @jaradoref
      @jaradoref 10 років тому

      If you think its unfair, how did Germany win in 2010 then?

    • @EthePanda
      @EthePanda 10 років тому +3

      considering how much money each of the five pitch in to the contest i still think its fair for the direct qualify. if they didn't qualify directly, then perhaps the fee would raise for every other country, which will result in drop-outs.. and speaking about Lena, well the majority of the songs were not that great that year, and "Satellite" was very catchy! however considering the placements of the big five lately, one may think that Lena's win was not something common! :P

    • @jaradoref
      @jaradoref 10 років тому

      EthePanda Also it was number 1 in about 15-20 countries prior to the contest, which always helps. What I am saying is is that it is doable and I was hoping that their win would be a kick up the rear end for the other big 5 countries but it has been anything but unfortunately.

    • @EthePanda
      @EthePanda 10 років тому

    Tbh what many dont understand is that the jury votes for performance and how good the song is to balance out all those televoting votes from people that vote for looks and neighbour countries. So tbh Austria won fair and square. Anyway i gotta give it to Austria that bearded lady had a strong, powerful and epic performance and her voice was flawless on the night (AMAZING VOICE TOO) and be honest the song was pretty good. Now stop criticising cuz the contest didnt go as you wanted it i mean i have been waiting since Udo Jürgens for Austria to have a good entry and actually get into the top 10. But common she deserved it and props to netherlands their song was amazing aswell and as some intell it gets played a lot in the radio in Austria even now still so they still did really well.
