The majority supported LGBTQ+ individuals, but it was primarily the ÖVP who always voted against equality. However, the progress regarding protection laws and same-sex marriage are really important and they came after Conchita‘s win. I remember many right-wing minded people got upset and they went very silent after conchita won the contest.
