Sam Ryder went into the contest very wholesome and radiated positive energy, and didn't disparage the UK, nor the Eurovision Song Contest itself. He's also backed by a great production with TaP music who clearly understood the assignment rather than BBC taking the helm completely. I hear TaP music will again do Eurovision next year so this kind of trend will continue, a top 10 finish next year would be just as amazing!
It's been confirmed now that TaP are doing our selection again. I'm so excited! I hope they really pull through. Something tell's me we need to stick to the rock/pop style as it's the best we've had since 1998. We also came 1st in the public vote for JESC and 5th place in the jury. Well done to Sam and everyone who came together to put this great song up for Eurovision. Long may it reign. WE ARE BACK!
Well any other year UK might have won. But Ukraine simply has too much of the world sympathy today for anyone else to win...it is as if Usain Bolt was competing against some crippled Corgi puppy. Even Bolt knows that he cannot win this.
Come on now. We did win really. We were the real winners.
If Ukraine just stood on stage in total silence and did absolutely nothing, they’d still have won. They were always going to be the winners last year whatever happened
00:09 this was literally me at home. I was crying so much 😂
One of the best nights of my life
Sam is amazing, he totally deserved this
As I watched the Jury vote I couldn't stop thinking about what Graham might be thinking. Amazing job guys! Sam was my winner and 2nd place is- considering the last 15 years, absolutely amazing
Watching this on the night was such a dream.
I was so emotional tbh.
I still think we really won the entire thing though lol.
So glad we are hosting for urkrain though and I know we will smash it out the park
Seeing the UK get this many 12 points in my lifetime.
Shout-out Graham Norton who so deserved this after all the years he's spent putting on a brave face as the UK bombed over and over again. They got more 12's in 2022 than they had in all of Graham's previous Eurovisions combined, PLUS it was the first time he witnessed them getting more than one in a single night - first time that's happened since 1998!
I love the Austrian guy how he pops the fizz,he then says " our 12 points go to".. United Kingdom 😂. he was celebrating the 12 with us
Well done sam,and congratulations
And thank you to all the countries who gave us the 12 points
❤️❤️❤️
I'm Still in shock.
When I watched this an we kept getting points I was litteraly screaming, I didn’t know what to do with myself I was litteraly so happy
this shows that it was never about the UK itself but solely about the low quality songs
Deserved every point. Love Sam Ryder.
Omg 😆 I could watch this and watch this over and over!!!Sam is the greatest ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I celebrated every 12 points that night, Was so happy
Let's hope we can keep up the weapon deliveries until ESC 2023!
I have not recovered from this evening.... Thanks for the reminder... One day it will sink in😍
Thank you so much everyone 💗
awww i so wish sir terry wogan (uk commentator for many years) got to see or even voice over this years ESC we all stand with ukraine but my god sam you smashed it love to akk from the united kingdom
Love the United Kingdom from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿❤🇬🇧
Thanks for the 12 points, even if it was technically an aggregate! It’s the thought that counts!
@@SuperJNG18 yes, doesn't matter, also Azerbaijan gave 8 points by televoting
@@elvinhacizade1752 No matter how you slice it, Azerbaijan has taste (especially since your televote gave 12 to Ukraine, a very worthy winner!)
@@SuperJNG18 haha
This edit is EVERYTHING
I love how Sam started screaming "we got points" after ukraine gave them 12 points
he'd get nine more douze points
Considering it was the UK's first 12 points in FIVE YEARS (the last 12 was given to Lucie Jones by Australia in 2017), I wouldn't blame him
I think a few factors played in why Europe voted for us this year 1 : The song was fantastic but also I think the fact we stand with Ukraine on the war in Russia ! I think that sends a clear message to Europe that Britain will never let a European country stand alone.
*this is actually happening, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a sketchshow*
I cried so hard that we did so well, was so confident in Sam and he did us proud! Ill never forget!
I still can't believe my country came 2nd, we probably won't see that for a while again although this year we know we definitely won't come last!
Still dissapointed that Australia & Greece juries gave us nothing. Still amazed by France & Germany. What a night it was. Still buzzing!
Why surprised? German here. Sam‘s song was amazing and deserved it 🤗 Great song, artist and performance. Keep it up friends 🤗 Maybe it will be London 2024 :)
@@alexsghostcookie8142 think I was surprised because we usually end up with very little. Hope Germany do a uk next year. Rise towards the top.
Yeah I noticed that also and was a bit salty about it at the time now I'm over it but come next year I will be telling everyone about it no doubt😄
Same!
Still dont get why Australia are in the EUROPEAN song contest!
I cried. But the horrible feeling of this is a once in a lifetime feeling.
whenever in future you are feeling a bit low.... just watch this to cheer you up !
I just love how happy they are and think it’s funny how they chant “WE GOT POINTS! WE GOT POINTS!”
"This is not a sketch!"😂😂
You know the UK did well that year when even France was giving them 12 points! 😄
Terry Wogan is up there celebrating with us xx
Grahams utter shock and disbelief make everything so much better
the meena and im a celeb part made this so much better 🤣
What happened! I remember the late great Sir Terry saying of Gemini when they did so bad 'Send the gun boat and get them out' well we didn't need the gun boat this year, many congratulations to Sam on a great performance.👽🥰
We will fucking cherish this for years to come, this will only happen once in my lifetime
Seen this like 50 times now. Such a legendary performance! 🎉❤🎉
Why am I only seeing this now? This is great 😂😂😂
Any one watching this feel better after this year
Nothing will beat the feeling of watching this live after years of being in the bottom half of the leaderboard!
So finally UK decided to send a good song, and see what happens.
Anyone else using this as fuel to get pumped for the world Cup 😂 after the euros and now this I'm starting to think we aren't total failures
Don't worry, we'll find some way to ruin it all
@@InvisibleTower No I think we have a truly special team right now and were only a penalty away from winning the euros. Southgate is a smart guy, he will learn from this and maybe won’t bring on kids to take pens when they’ve not even had a chance to kick the damn ball yet
lol. Maybe Brexit was a good thing after all😬
Sam was phenomenal & kept his nerve & really was the winner that year. The year British entry came back, but since have been lamentable again. 😅
I remember watching in disbelief 😂 I thought we would do good but not basically win 🎉
I wish that we could see more of Sam's reactions he was always pushed back
Refreshing to come here after 0 points.
The uk was the winner sam made my country very proud 👏
