I used to work in this car factory in the United Kingdom and I tell you these guys have a car which will use the sun to charge it’s batteries. This is like many years ago 😊
I hope the elites in Africa will wake up and grab this opportunity, and stop importing second-hand vehicles from the West whose faults are the major cause of mortality.
@deoclicianookssipinvieira5858 You do know that many african countries own most of the resources on the planet right🤔 well leverage that to bring manufacturing, quite simple
Taxes are too high. If the African governments can give EV manufacturers a 5 year reduced or no tax session, this would help improve the cost and pollution overall
The thing is Taxes are hight source of income for these corrupt African Government officials They increase the taxes and then take a cut so that they can't be caught and traced Hence the hight taxes Very difficult to for them the reduce it since money won't be going into thier pockets
It's an electrics car You want a 500km range car tat that little price are you serious I get what you mean but You still sound ridiculous I aging buying a 9 volt battery and expecting it to give you the power of a 30 volt battery
$16000 is way steep, that same car goes for btwn $5000 n $7500 on Alibaba, why are they being overpriced like that, would have made sense if they were between $10,000 after tax, same issue in kenya we have the Wuling Bungo jerked up to $25000 up from its $15000 sticker price for its long range version, its insane, this does nothing to get people into EVs,this trend needs to stop
The electricity is not yet stable in supply and the roads are not yet to the standard that can accommodate electric vehicles I still think it's better to stick to PHEv especially the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEv
China great big powerful country. Great uganda EV. Very ambition. Great saftery pollution environmental uganda. 16000 dolar. Very essential kampala movements
These guys are over pricing Ugandans. Every foreigners and contractors that do business in Africa tend to overprice us. The tax on EV’s are not as crazy as regular cars. In a serious country the government would place some restrictions on them. Talk of lack of charging infrastructure and short battery life.
The Soviet Union “over priced” the Chinese too when China was poorer than any African nation. But guess what? It’s a price we had to pay when we don’t have jack. We managed our countries wealth, made good policies, and expanded our manufacturing capabilities now making China the most glorious nation on this planet.
Ok, walk on barefoot, use a bicycle or pay 40 - 50k usd for a japanese, German or american car than. Choice is yours. It’s the price you have to pay when your country doesn’t produce anything. Same thing happened to the chinese when we had to purchase all our equipment from the Soviet at huge prices that the nation couldn’t afford. Maos status quo fell short, China went into debt with the USSR and our relationship got so spoiled the USSR almost declared invasion on us to take our land because of unsatisfied debt. The people went into extreme famine with majority of our produce being exported to the USSR. But guess what in the end our hard work and dedication prevailed. The Chinese used those equipment, reversed engineered it, maintained it, and developed our own and kept on expanding our manufacturing capabilities thru good governance and policies such as chinas economic reform. Moral is the lesson, this is a small price your nation will have to pay in order to grow.
After one year of use the battery range deceases drastically and the fact that batteries will most likely be imported rather than manufactured in the country this will be bad. The quality of battery isn't that great and this will hit the citizens pockets hard. How good will these vehicles do on dirt roads and mountainous regions 😂. A hybrid is the best and most economical alternative form of transportation
You are incorrect about the battery range decreasing dramatically after one year. With modern batteries the decrease is 10% over 5 years. CATL the largest battery manufacturer in the world claims its newest LFP battery has no loss to speak of after 5 years.
If you had it figured it out my guy you’d be a leader of some country instead of typing on your keyboard. I am sure the Chinese government is way more competent than you can ever imagine
Wondering why are they forcing Africans to drive electric when they drove gasoline for years? Is africa even ready for that kind of iniative, which is expensive?
Your questioning is way off and disrespectful. They have the right to choose any form of transportation for themselves. They're competent enough. And they are not forcing anything on the people.
Africans are not being forced, for the case of Uganda, Electricity per Km is cheaper than fuel. Take for example traveling 25km in electric vehicle cost between 700ugx to 1900ugx.
EVs should be embrassed to a greener future and lower air popution. Many manufacturers are pivoting to EVs. It's going to happen either way. So Uganda adapting to them will force the general and local governments to rethink infrastructure and policies. With more EVs on the road, policy on other green technologies will be revisited. Solar will get as cheap as it should be and the conversations will continue. Better now than later.
