Man, finally some legit plyometric movements! So many “plyo” workouts have you doing deep squats and staying on the ground when the whole point is to minimize ground contact time and be explosive. I appreciate the progressions as well
Check out the lost breed
Wtf u be watching never seen plyo where they want u in deep squats lol
@@brazilianbenji1313 search plyometric routine on UA-cam, most are like that
@@brazilianbenji1313 no need to be rude. Why is this the default behavior with so many people.
Coaches wanting explosive movements with deep ROM isn't that uncommon. Check out some of the plyometric workouts for BJJ or wrestling. @@brazilianbenji1313
This video made me subscribe. Perfect balance of demonstration, instruction, AND explanation of the theories behind everything. We got the what, how, and the WHY. Just awesome!
Thanks for teaching me something. Just started doing this yesterday at therapy. Torn ACL and meniscus recovery.
Now I can impress my physiotherapist with my knowledge;)
Thx for explaining in as much detail as possible, not just the movements, but how/why they work. I’ve recently started doing plyos for hockey, and the exercises are good; I am already seeing improvements, but it helps to have that detailed understanding of how that stopping energy is harnessed. I feel like explaining the stop in terms of ninja stealth helped me visualize the flow of kinetic energy; how it’s kept and harnessed from one movement into the next, rather than lost in a clumsy, abrupt stop.
Great video. A friend asked for some help with increasing his vert, and I needed to find a video that explained plyometrics really well. This was perfect. Wish I had this when I was training in college!
Great video. Really enjoyed the explanations and the realistic progression between jumps.
Great training progressions - I love a good plyo workout!
Fantastic! thanks you for sharing your knowledge incredibly helpful
Awesome, thank you, I've been putting the cart before the horse. I really like the idea of using the 'ninja jumps' (or landings) to establish good control and body position. I'll watch out for that valgus phenomenon too, need to do these with a mirror make sure I'm not doing that.
These are really good. After decades of distance running, I'm trying to restore some of my boyhood spring & foot speed, so I've been doing some plyometrics a few times a week. I probably got ahead of myself: From 'power skipping' I moved straight into box jumps, but I'm almost certain I'm doing some of that knock-knee stuff y'all warn against. So I'm gonna back up, and start working those 'ninja landings.' I'll have a friend watch this vid, then watch my knees. Thanks so much!
Could you video yourself, and then play it at a slower speed (like they did in this video?).
Pretty sure plyometric aren't something you should do a few times a week
@@dadadunlol6079 u absolutely can. But you shouldn’t do it for a long period like 5-6 months.
@@nomilkinmyveins824how long should you do it for then? Are you suggesting it should be seasonal with breaks to give your tendons a break? Thanks
@@vancouverbill usually in the off season
Great stuff thanks!!
Cheers man. Thanks for sharing, I need this stuff.
Great content ! Hats off to your ability
Awesome content thank you!
Badass video. I’m headed to the gym now and will use this progression
Great video brilliant for any athlete in almost any sport and beginners I’ll give it a go
Thank you! Great video!
Thank you for this, incorporating these workouts in hopes to become more explosive for karate
This jumper is so graceful it's almost art 💞
Perfect thanks
I'm trying plyometrics and HIIT at home again, after my physical therapist told me to. This was a good introduction! I had surgery on my leg 10 years ago and it's still smaller than the other, lol. I used to do ballet, and the jumps remind me of it actually.
Huge help! I'm a 45 year old competitive tennis player and have lost a ton of explosiveness since ankle surgery. Been looking for beginner progressions for plyometrics, and it's been very hard to find.
You old asf
So detailed with your ideology man! This is great training thank you
Awesome video - thanks
Love it! Will definitely be applying these techniques to myself and with my clients :)
This is absolutely a great video thank you keep it up
Thank you!
Excelent , thanks...Brennan and Jacob
Thanks for the tips! Been doing the workouts from Syro Workout till now, but I am definitely gonna incorporate a few of those exercises now as well. :D
Thank you great video
Great video! Scary training on them knees but you don't know what you are capable of accomplishing unless you eliminate fear...thanks guys! Liked and subscribed!
Anytime the vanilla gorilla drops knowledge I listen💪🏽
😭😭💯
I would have to start on something a lot lower to start jumping just learning. You guys are awsome .
These are great exercises for beginners. Also if someone wants to do freeweight training these are good for them to let their body recognise movements
Good stuff. Teaching this to kids.
loved it.
This was very informative. Thank you for the information. Keep uploading.
Brilliant video, great job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank it explained a lot
Great video!!!
Great video bro 👌
I've only just heard of plyometrics BUT I watched the video 📹 & I really enjoyed it, thank you for sharing. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
thank you bro
This is gold
Those quads 💪
Thanks for teaching me plyometric's
Very nice
Great video
very good exercises man … how many sets and reps though?
I feel like I can do those with practice. Not that I don't think I had the strength for it but my coordination might be a little off lol. I've just never done it before. The one I may not be good at is the depth jump. I could never get too high even in martial art but always wanted to get better at it. I may have to try some of this stuff since I need to learn it. Trying to become a personal trainer and trying to learn as much as I can on how to properly do more variety of exercises.
Awesome video ... could you do one to help with dunking?
very effecfive, young athletes should do this in their routine.
Thank you for the great video, but how many sets and reps? How many time per week? can we do it the previous or next day following a leg training day?
Excellent 👌
Thanks for watching
Very very nice great good excellent simply suplended.....💥👌👍👏💐👑
My knees hurt watching this :(
Hopefully im nearing a full tendonitis recovery so maybe I can move to this soon
Nice to finally see some useful fundamentals. Too many focus on the end result!
Do you think that doing these exercies at home on the concrete could be somehow dangerous for my joints? Better go to a park? Great video thank u again😃
My best box jump was 48". I've been hitting 42 and 44 consistently in my mid 50s. Have a few vids posted as proof.
Hey - Great video! I have a question: Would these routines be something you do all in one session, or should they be split up with X weeks inbetween?
Pls cover - how do we recover from pain, avoid injury etc.
You might have already done this, but I would love to hear your opinions on plyometric training and its application to modern parkour training. UK team Storror are probably the most famous, and they are exceptional distance jumpers, yet, other younger parkour athletes continue to push those limits; Team Phat, Ed Scott, Travis Verky, for instance, mixing plyo and precision landings with some Jackie Chan shit NOT in the gym!
Loved the video! I'm a recreational tennis player and I was looking for videos to help with plyometrics. Could you recommend any other of your content that would be good for tennis? Thanks :)
try lateral bounds! Once you can stick the landing comfortably, build some rhythm with skiers! hope this helps
Around the clock lunge and 1 leg plyo hops, again @ the clock.
@Fitness Culture I need some drills to work on landing softly. I sound like a bag of bricks when I'm jumping. What's the appropriate way to land to keep it smooth, heel to toe or toe first?
Chris Scott toe or mid foot like running. Also pushing your hips back to absorb pressure.
Same
How many reps and sets?
Looking for a good shoe to do plyo exercises.

chances we could get a hamstring/glutes stretches/mobility vid?
How often can I do this??
what are some stretchers I can do before doing these?
I like how for the last one you are on your phone in the back. It clearly took a few tries to get it 🤣
How would you incorporate this into a workout. Would you go on upper or a lower split, before a heavy session, after or on a lighter day?
I think you can use it as cardio after a session
you could use it as a warm up before a leg day
oh yeah nah should do plyos before any kind of strength training in a session as they are the most demanding on the nervous system and should be performed when fresh to get the most benefit 👍
Sorry for the late response. You could honestly do these every day before you lift. That's what I do.
Ncsa's guidelines are to incorporate them separately. For example you do plyometric training for the legs and continue upper body strength training and vice versa, you do upper plyometrics followed by lower body training
What are the reps ?
THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO from France
can you give us some plyometric training for kids please
Make a video for advance plyometrics
Is there any standard on how many reps and sets to do?
quality video!! but lack a lot of infos.
Should you do this if your overweight? I’m Trying to lose weight and get hops while losing the weight.
How would you work this into a lifting program? And in guess the bigger question is how do I work plyometrics into my lifting program? The goal for me is to be a more functional athlete going forward.
Mathew Fraser I usually do plyos the day of lifting. It tends to be after but if it’s a leg day I might do it before depending on if I’m lifting heavy or not.I’m not an expert or anything but it’s given me some decent results
Dont combine them. Finish your lofting program, then do plyometrics with 1 day a week to lifting.
What kind of sets and reps?
Why is there no ankle stiffness, when you want to be explosive you want to have pre-tension right. Or what do you guys think about it?
Really good stuff! What kind of shoes are best for box jumps?

Why is the athlete walking of the box and not jumping with both feet together? @Fitness Culture
Does it work to jump higher?? Vertical
no
@@daconvertiblebaby69 why ?
yes it does, thats one of the main things that you get out of this
EvO LiKe yep, it’s one of the main ways along with strength training, flexibility and technique
When u say u move on to something after u have mastered one thing what do you mean by that
Just saying that you shouldn't move to more advanced movements without mastering the basics first.
