  • The Platters with "Only You (And You Alone)" recorded from the original US 78 rpm shellac single on Mercury 70633. "Only You" with B-side "Bark, Battle And Ball", was released in the US in May 1955 and peaked at Nr. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Chart. Both songs were recorded on April 26, 1955 at Universal Recording Studios in Chicago with Tony Williams (lead tenor vocal), David Lynch (tenor vocal), Zola Taylor (vocal), Paul Robi (baritone vocal) and Herb Reed (bass vocal). Musicians included Charles Eldrid Norris on electric lead guitar, Red Callender on bass, Sylvester Scott on piano, Lue Freddie Simon on saxophone and William Douglas on drums. Produced by Buck Ram.
