Spent countless hours on all these machines. We also used to tag team loading 785’s with two 994’s . Hung up my hard hat last month. Already starting to miss it, sort of. 👍👍🇺🇸
@MrKill56 They were a huge success for Caterpillar. And the 992C’s were so much better than the 992B model. Cat added 140 horsepower, 2.5 cubic yard bigger bucket, and about 18 tons more weight. The only thing I liked more on the B model was the cab structure. It had a really unique look to it.
Happy Mom's Day and I just herded the 115 which was about the size of an 88. Always wanted to get ahold of a 92 but never was on a job that had them but I was hauling stone or concrete. Hapy day to yall and God Bless ALL Yall!
Excellent video my American friend 👍👍👍 Greetings from a fellow (all be it ex) sunshine miner in Scotland 🏴 Nice to see the dozer giving the old girl a helping hand, she's only 10 years younger than me...
Thank you my friend! In the Appalachian soft coal, doEra used to break down the shot to the loader or shovel are often called "trap dozers." Just interesting terminology. Cheers from across the pond! 🍻
992C still today a great machine ! Nothing fancy just a well built machine that didn’t need a lap top computer to troubleshoot. Judging by that smoke someone got that AFR a bit on the Rich side. 😮

992C & 992D are my favorite loaders of all time, so I love the video upload! Never been able to operate one before. Probably never will. We have 2 992G’s and a 992k at our quarry that I run. Love the 992G. It’s my substitute for not being able to run a 992C or 992D haha
@@PAmining they are slow that’s for sure from what I’ve heard😂 my dad and uncle who I work with started working at our quarry in the 80s so they got to run 992C & 992D’s. As soon as the loader gets the bucket full and gets in position the truck drivers need to be pushing the bucket up in the air to get loaded quicker and get more loads
@@PAmining awe i see / well good to see the old girl still working strong / if theres ever a chance maybe get a video of a wheel loader starting a new pit ? ive seen a 994f years ago do it but i was like 7 or 8 and kinda forgot how loaders start a new face , thanks i really enjoy all your videos.
That depends on what series 777 you are talking about. In this video, yes, they both have V12s. The 992C carries a CAT 3412, V12, however the original 777s were powered by a D348 and later models (B-D) powered by 3508 V8s. The 777F was the first in the 777 line to boast the big C32 V12. Cheers!
Damn PA, I don't know where this is at, but that loader operator is not with the program. He doesn't keep his floor clean at all, and loads the trucks about half way! Just say'n.
Well first of all the loaders in clay., I've never seen a clay cut from a 992 that's not a bouncy floor because the loader sinks constantly. The first truck was loaded with three buckets because the 92 wanted to reposition and move over to dig the fresh dirt from the D11. 4 passes from a 992 in a 100 ton truck is pretty standard. A fifth pass would be great but keeping the trucks moving is also important. I'm sure the company is factoring in 3/4 loads from the 992. I do it daily. You use an average payload factor to figure total BCY moved per day.
An extra bucket vs keeping the trucks is less important. Say he does 60 loads a shift at 4 buckets per truck, which would be about 2,220 Bcy, but at 3 buckets he might be cycling the trucks faster in which case say his total count at the end of the day might be 68 loads at 3 buckets a truck, that would total probably 2,178 Bcy. Not much loss.
a question, why dont they make the dump bed sides higher so they can hold more dirt/coal? since these trucks are off road they have no legal weight restrictions to worry about. are they already at the tires limits in weight? I ask this becouse Ive seen regular 10 wheel dumptrucks in some foreign countries loaded to 100 TONS as well as 18 wheelers where there are no weight limits. they have the tires pumped to 180+PSI and have water cooled breaks. it blew my mind that these regular trucks could be loaded to these weights. ( now how long these trucks last I have no idea!). here are examples, this is insane!...ua-cam.com/video/_pjLWBoxLnE/v-deo.html
The entire truck will be designed to carry a specific gross weight from tyres, brakes, suspension, hydraulics etc and still be able to cope with rough ground and steep grades
@jamesba-xd7xf Manufacturers do make special dump beds. They can handle much more volume than the standard rock beds. However the equipment owner will not load that coal body with overburden ( rock & dirt ). That is because the haul truck would be severely overloaded. The warranty will be null and void when structural damage eventually occurs.Yes, it is permissible to slightly overload the typical haul truck and still preserve the warranty. But a haul truck that is constantly and severely overloaded will have a much shorter working life. The trucks are designed and engineered to haul a specific load capacity. The mine owner or equipment fleet owner will not be keen on any method that will shorten the working life of a multi million dollar investment. Also overloading mining haul trucks is not safe practice.Doing so can result in failure of many different components of the truck. People and property will be at risk.

Cool video. That first 777 had almost new looking tread on its tires. How'd it get the sidewall of the right front tire so badly gashed like that?

What happend to the PC1250 Documentary?
That was a -8 machine that I referred to as a -7, so I've corrected it and will relaunch later this year
Random question about the 3:40-3:55 mark it seems the operator throws a glove out the window? Is there a reason for that? Thanks!

Sounds like the loader needs some long overdue maintenance
LMAO, that 992 is mint compared to some of the old dogs I've seen!
Coulda did a 5th pass on them trucks looked roughly 85 ton loads
