The balls are to help the truck driver on the opposite side of the truck that is being loaded to get into the correct position. So when the shovel is done loading the truck on the other side, it doesn't have to stop to spot it in, or reposition it from being too close or far away.
I drove 170 Ton Wabco for 1 year. Shift work…Days, Afternoon, and Night Shift.Work 7 get 2 days off. It got to the point I literally got sick to my stomach climbing up into the cab I hated it that much after that year. Winter was the worst. Snow and haul trucks in The Rocky Mountains…not nice. Eventually worked up seniority to get onto D9 cat. Much better. Years later on to shovels like this. Good jobs but so repetitive.
It's a safety feature. The idea is that the front of the platform, or bumper will contact the rear tires of another haul truck in the event of a rear end type accident. This stops the rear of the dump body on the truck in front from contacting the cab and causing potentially fatal injuries to the operator.
Extended front bumper to help in nose to tail accidents. Without that if a truck rear ends another truck, the body dove tail of the truck in front can impact the cabin of the rear truck and injure/kill the operator.
The deck, on the front of the dumper, is for multiple reasons. The driver doesn't have to climb down to ground level, and any radiator maintenance can be carried out easily, imagine holding a tool above your head. Driver cannot see front end of truck, from driving position, has physical attachment to prevent driving into/off things.
Hello, my heavy duty machinery repairman and maintenance friend, I am looking at your videos on your UA-cam channel. You are always making short-term videos and recordings in your life. I am aware of this. Why do you not think of making more long-term action movies of big diggers and excavators in your life to make your subscribers and followers happy? Well, in the workplace you work in in your life, you liebherr in an open-pit mine. You are not thinking of making videos of large excavator construction machines. If I were in your place, if I were like a mechanic, maintenance man or mining engineer in a large mining enterprise, then in my life, in my spare time, I would like to think about how many heavy construction equipment of the mining company I work in, making action movies. What about the name of the channel, heavy tonnage construction equipment action channel? to do, to think, to want to think about it, there are some people in the world who do not see giant, heavy-duty heavy-duty machines in their countries of life. I think that when you have free time, you should try to make action movies with heavy-duty machines, because you should want to watch these movies for these people in the world and feel this feeling, because people have a short time in your life. It's boring to watch videos. If you want to make your followers happy, please consider making more long-term videos. I mean, the person who wrote this comment in your life is from the other side of the world, from Turkey, from his country. My name is Ergün Acar. I want to have the honor to meet you. @@miningequipment64 Ah, he was probably just dogging it, till he could hit the bar. It's farcical, how many companies go on glowingly about their employees, despite knowing that too many of them are most likely, harsh alcoholics and drug addicts. If an operator was seen operating like this this one is, he'd automatically and immediately be checked for signs of possible impairment. Maybe not so in these tinpot countries, which is where I suspect this was.
Per cubic yard? A cubic yard of taconite will weigh more than a cubic yard of gravel or coal. Need to be more specific. I would agree not very efficient loading!

I could watch these heavy-duty machines all day!
110 tons per bucket? That's a bit faster than shovelling by hand.
Thats a lot of dirt at one time!
And this uses a standard bucket with a capacity of 62,7 m³

110 tons on the Dump truck you mean?!!!💪💪👍
No, in the bucket...

I used one of these to get rid of gophers in my back yard. 👍
The strength of these machines is unbelievable. Great video!

Yeah great, and in this copper mine more people use electric rope shovels than hydraulic excavators, to load dump trucks

i think the fact that dumper can take 330 ton and drive off nippily is equally good
That's correct and it depends on the size of the dump body
what are the 2 swinging balls on the back of the P&h for.
pretty sure those are for the opposite side haul truck to line up to when backing in
The safe distance between the truck and the ball is around 2 to 5 meters, so that when the loader swings it doesn't hit the truck body

The function of the ball itself is as a barrie between the truck and rope shovel

My old RB30 would need 110 buckets to one of those!
No wonder I hated the bloody thing!

awesome!

Why the big deck low down on that dump truck, in front of the radiator? Never saw something like that before on these big haul trucks. just curious.
That's a type CAT 793F truck, in general, large-scale transpor trucks are like that, with a wide design for component space to make it look neater
Extended front bumper to help in nose to tail accidents. Without that if a truck rear ends another truck, the body dove tail of the truck in front can impact the cabin of the rear truck and injure/kill the operator.
Not 110 ton.......Avg around 80 to 90 Tons per pass...The cat 7495 is around 110ton per pass........
90 tons if the bucket is not completely filled, Cat 7495 has 2 types of buckets, triangular and square
The 4100 XPC is actually rated at 120 tons per pass.
Who cares

In large mines it is mandatory to turn on work lights during the day on the loader, because a thick dust barrier limits the operator's visibility

Because when this large truck operates in a smaller area, it Is highly expected to maintain in blind spot distance of 10 to 15 meters
Seems like rope machines use larger buckets than hydraulic machines? yes no?
The shovel is available in two choices, level one and level two, this one is a level 1 shovel which is smaller in size

And the Cat 793F truck can accommodate 335 tons of material loads

Maybe 30 tonnes per bucket
30 tons per bucket for Komatsu PC 5500 type excavator
No atleast 90 tons depending on bucket size,
closer to 70 tons. When the first truck leaves I think I make out 220 tons on the readout.
I doubt it.
That shovel operator sure doesn't fill that bucket very well. He'd be gone, at most places.
The operator was really tired and wanted to quickly shift the job to a replacement operator
