Great discussion team! Great episode to match! I think Ahsoka’s fear of attachment had her keep Sabine from joining her family to defend Mandalore. Not that she could have saved them, but that was a button that Baylan could push, because it drove a wedge between them at the time. Just a thought.
I love Star Wats even when I don’t like the Star Wars . 😂 But I honestly don’t know why they don’t take more care of the storytelling. Like Hera taking her kid on the dangerous trip. They could just put in 1 line to give us sone reason she’d do something like that because it just seems illogical . People just doing things nobody would do without reason. Another would be just giving us a line to say “ we are unable to reach Luke Skywalker because blah blah.” Just help us suspend our belief, y’know? Can anyone guess why they don’t just throw in a line or two like this ? Either way it’s been a lot of fun. Great show!
Anakin is behaving like a siren, calling to Ahsoka. Specifically calling to her heart and soul loss of her friend and master. The quote "your eyes can deceive you don't trust them" never seemed more on the nose quote than the WBW Anakin.
I heard the theory that Baylen is after the WBW gateway that was rebuilt on the Chimera that Palpatine used to tempt Ezra in the final episodes of Rebels.
I'd like to see that it is indeed annikin, but it is now his job to protect the world between worlds, to maintain the balance he was supposed to create
When people talk about the Jedi, they don't often bring up the other term that has been associated with them... Knight. For me, that is the part that Ray Steveson is bring to Baylen. Perhaps that is the way Filoni designed the character, certainly the costume adds to that aesthetic, when few Jedi costumes have done that in the past for me. The pauldrons speak of that sort on knightly bearing. The way he holds his lightsaber like a broadsword adds to that as well. Kevin bringing up the Dark Knight has me looking at Shin as a Damian Wayne form of Robin.
Balin is world weary. He respects Morgan, and he respects Ashoka, but he also has a kind of contempt for them. A disgust. He’s been massively let down by the world.
Can i point out that people who are afraid they are about to be hit or or l pushed don't simply turn their face to the side. The natural human reaction to that is too either try to brace if you think your going to be shoved/pushed lean back from the direction of thee hit or push or simply to cover ones have and try to make themselves smaller. Those are human reflexes. Which being that they are reflexes we do il before the brain gets to think about and decide a proper course of action. It is simply an automatic reaction to protect yourself. Shin didn't do any of these. Instead the action that ivanna did resembles what you might do if someone unexpectedly slapped you, ie you tried turn your face and pivot the head and torso a bit to follow the slap. Sabine didn't try to fake her or she successfully managed to use the force to slap her. I'm sure it's far less than she's hoped to accomplish but she's did use the force. You can even hear the sound of the force being used when she does
I think that Ahsoka will come out of the WBW to find out that the ring had taken off. Everyone will be stressed until the Purrgil approach them and then they all take off to the other area which is a migration destination for them. 🤔
Fun speculation on Thrawn- is he working with Ezra ? Are there all very different aliens then anything we see in the galaxy we know. With it being another galaxy , beings can be invisible fit all we know , or is the whole galaxy theee there but completely or nearly void of other sentient beings. Maybe Thrawn and Ezra are completely alone in this way. We have no idea.

The Holdo maneuver and this episode's hyperspace jump bother me. So long as hyperdrives are an effective weapon, the space battles in Star Wars make no sense. For those who will say "but you would have to sacrifice ships!, Navies wouldn't do that" look up real world fire ships. Navies will use tactics that are proven and that work.

FFS..... He is great though, u hate to have to hate him, so! And what an understated career, and gone WAY too soon. But this, as his last work, just some some unbelievable gravitas, ,and putting a clinic on for all future Marvel, or DC baddies. Ray Stevenson, what a fucking legend!
I think Baylan will be misunderstood by Anakin as the mysterious Darth Sidious . Baylan hates Anakin for his cowardice/ betrayal. Anakin kills Baylan and then has his nightmares and it changes nothing.
If I’m even understanding Filoni at what he said that the WBW is for knowledge not time travel then I don’t really get why Baylan eoukd believe Thrawn would be good for the galaxy . I hope he’s talking about something else. But I can’t even guess.
So I noticed that for the second and third fights that Ahsoka was in this episode, she only used one lightsaber, not the two she normally uses. Was it just so that the camera could be closer to the action? Or was these something else going on?.... Let the tinfoil hat theories commence!
Eric Voss at Rockstar had an interesting theory about this. Specifically that while she had been down on seatos that she was been unknowingly singing herself in there forever to the WBW and essentialy evoking Anakin. Likely due to the conflict she had been going through especially the way she seems to have been dipping into the dark side this episode. But apparently but only has she been going around single blading it bit she also switched into his form 5 style which is more about power which is a major shift away from her normal swift and agile form 4 jar-kai. It's s very strange form for her to be using especially against an obvious powerhouse like baylan. The fact that baylan kept bringing him up certainly didn't help
ONLY THE FILONI BALONEYS(10% of fandom) are watching the Ashoka series. Baloney = NOW after 4 MUST watch Clone Wars/Rebels. PROOF - trending big after ep. 4, but NOT as a whole on the internet shows who cover it. Why? No mainstream or casual Star Wars fans are watching or caring 😢.
.. my only issue with Sabine handing the map over .. is the fact that she did it all without asking form or getting a thread of evidence that Ezra is alive. Get the proof that the only thing that you're doing this for is even ok... Anyone else want this?

Baylan isn't a mustache twirling villain like Greivous, but since he believes you first must destroy in order to create, he's some level of villain.
