Here is a terrific series of TV ads on the ZG Fairlane. Great Australian car industry history. Please hit that 👍Like button and Subscribe. Thanks for watching. 👍
At least with the XB Falcon facelift the Fairlane looked different again. I do remember the adds with Kevin Rasheed (?) taliking about all of his Fairlane's. Holden must have taken notice because if you look at the adds for the HQ and HJ Statesman's they used the same bloke as well. Thanks for posting these adds Mark, I am really enjoying them.
Me again - carn't believe you found the ad. It was Jeff Ellis that l was referring to but l noticed he stated he was an estate agent in the ad - could've sworn he was a live stock agent but its going back many years so the old memory might be fading. We probably drove the poor bugger mad as we were always working on our cars at the mates place next door banging & crashing around fixing them up but he never complained about the noise. We were all about 20 at the time working on EK FC EJ HD Holdens, Mkll Zephyrs, Sprites & the like. Oh the good old days. How in the hell did you find this stuff? Keep em coming.
@@farnthboy That’s fantastic. I assume he isn’t around anymore. Not that you can tell from an ad but he seemed like a hell of a nice bloke. 30-50,000 miles (not km) per year. That is a lot. 👍
I remember the ads with the owners testimonials. They were an excellent marketing tool. The glider adverts however, I would think were a waste of money.
I remember Kevin Racheed (is that how you spell it?) doing a ZJ Fairlane ad, by this stage, his 8th Fairlane. He did a ZK ad as well, and that was the last i saw of him. Maybe after the V8's death he never bothered with the ZL?
G'day Mark, I will take the last Fairlane the gold anniversary special just because of the colour & it has both d/s & p/s mirrors. Looks diky with just a d/side mirror otherwise another great video. Cheers Louis Kats 👍
Been busy week just travelled from Dubbo NSW to Cobram Victoria in my Nissan D40 ute it might have automatic but definitely doesn't have V8 power, yeah carry my gear but only if i could still hire ZA Fairlane i wouldn't mind driving it especially in luxury.

My late father had a 302. Drove to Adelaide from Melbourne with my 2 uncles and there families, both in xb 351 fairmonts. Beautiful memories ❤
@@savvasperisanidis Fantastic. 👍
Was the best way to cure crying kids
I like the way they have a drink before going home, it’s the good old days when people did their own thinking and not the government.
@@doneB830 Yes. I remember those days! 🤔

@@phil4977 regarding the glider, I think they were trying to communicate smooth and quiet but I agree the testimonials were much better. 👍

Cool looking car Mark
@@shaun30-3-mg9zs Yes, I love these ads where the car is used in the bush. 👍
The 50th Anniversary was a good-looking car.
Poor blokes must have had their hubcaps knocked off and just grabbed some ZF ones.
@@Jacacatt Yes, they were probably one of the best looking ZGs. 🤔👍

They did look good. There was also a dark blue, which I preferred and I also saw Burgundy ones too. 👍
