I used to live on supplements because I thought it was necessary for good health. And as a result I was always dealing with gastrointestinal problems and other issues from the junk that was included in the ingredients until finally I asked myself why the hell am I doing this.
In 2020, I started taking collagen drinks from a Japanese brand and I didn’t (or never) encountered any problems at all. No gut issues, nothing. The next year, I started changing my lifestyle to do keto and intermittent fasting. I experienced quite severe constipation for the first month but after that, everything went normal. Last November, I decided to try the Vital Proteins collagen, the standard Blue bottle one (I took a break the Japanese collagen), and immediately I experienced constipation, and gained weight in the first month. I stopped and went back to the Japanese collagen and voila… no more constipation. And lost weight. I think I better stick to the Japanese collagen, for now.

I have tried both the original Vital Proteins and the Sparkle with Verisol. I didn't have any gut issues with either, but my "side effects" from the Sparkle have been great! I don't have a comparison video of the two but I am currently working on a video about hyaluronic acid. I personally don't believe that collagen + hyaluronic acid products have enough hyaluronic acid. Even Vital proteins. I'm not saying it would hurt to take it. It would still be beneficial but I personally would want to (and do) supplement with hyaluronic acid separately and in addition to taking collagen. Hi April! Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. I'm excited for you and I'm glad you were able to save a little money. I hesitate to comment on taking both NMN and NAC together since I don't take NAC currently. That said, my understanding is that NMN and NAC do different things in the body. NMN is a precursor to NAD and NAC is a precursor to glutathione. You should be okay taking them both but I would suggest doing more research until you feel comfortable doing so. I hope that helps. Sorry I can't give you a more direct answer. Thanks again.
@@Arceej249 You can. I usually take it in the morning in a greens and berry shake which is basically my breakfast. Sometimes I just add it to an herbal tea and take it around the same time I eat. It doesn't HAVE to be taken with a meal but you can. In short it doesn't matter so much if you take it with a meal or not. Just pick a time that you are most likely to take it consistently and do that. Hope that helps.
just eat meat. It doesn't make sense to me to buy any protein mixture. Collagen is protein. Protein has to be split into amino acids and then reconstructed in the body part. So eating collagen doesn't just plug that collagen into the body. Anyway...
So with this thinking, why not just eat rice protein and expect to build muscle? The amino profile is important for determining the effects it will signal in the body. Additionally the body can and does absorb small peptides and does not fully break down all proteins before absorption so these peptides can also act as signals for certain processes in the body like collagen synthesis or reducing collagen breakdown processes for example.

Any update?

What about the heavy metal claims? I really want to try this product but I'm really worried.

I'm not a doctor and nothing I say should ever be considered medical advice. That said, I personally don't worry about it. Their products have been around since 2013. So 10 years?
Many people have been taking them for long periods of time. I would imagine if there were serious issues we would have heard about them.
The difficult thing is that if any product comes from our environment there is a chance that it contains lead or some other undesirable substance. Heavy metals like lead, arsenic, or mercury are in the rocks, soil, grass, and trees.
I have done some research and found that common drinking water has significantly more arsenic than most collagen powders. And most fish contain more mercury.
If you live in the state of California (I grew up there) you will see a warning on the label of many many products. Including some toys. Is taking collagen peptides cause enlarge prostate?
Hi JT, I wonder if this collagen is pregnancy friendly. Would love to hear your opinions. :)
Hi, My understanding is that it's just fine to take while pregnant but it's always best to consult with your doctor.
@@JTJaredTaylor thank you for your response.
Collagen supplements give me migraines- I’d love to find one that doesn’t if anyone else has had this issue and found a solution!
Sorry to hear about that. I haven't had that experience personally but hopefully someone who has (and found a solution) will comment on this.
I have ellbow pain (Tennis and golfers ellbow) could Collagen help me lose the Pain?
Hi Jeusen, I can't say for sure but it's possible that it could help. Hopefully someone else will comment who has had a similar issue.

Since Vital Proteins makes 2 versions of that "Standard" version, with and without Hyaluronic Acid, do you have any comparison videos of the two?
I don't have a comparison video of the two but I am currently working on a video about hyaluronic acid. I personally don't believe that collagen + hyaluronic acid products have enough hyaluronic acid. Even Vital proteins. I'm not saying it would hurt to take it. It would still be beneficial but I personally would want to (and do) supplement with hyaluronic acid separately and in addition to taking collagen. This way I can make sure I'm getting at least 200mg of hyaluronic acid which seems to be the generally recommended dose.
Hi JT! I used your discount code and got nmn 300 to start and want to thank you for that and also ask you if by any chance you know if i can take it with NAC? I started nac a month ago and want to continue taking it. 😊 thank you so much!!
Hi April!
@@JTJaredTaylor thank you Jt ❤ i am researching it but wanted to ask you just in case. 😊
There should not be a problem using them together
How much it cost? I am from India. How can I purchase it?
Probably the best option would be to order it from them directly if they deliver to your area. Or try amazon.
Why is the entire professional line sold out? Are they discontinuing it? If not do you have any idea of when they will have it back in stock?
Not sure. High demand maybe? I had that problem when I was trying to get it too. I don't buy it anymore though.
Come back soon 🙂
I have skin rush guys I guess is the collagen :(
Sorry to hear it. ☹️
It did made me constipated :(
Same here. Frustrating isn't it?
I ate a kale salad and it helped
Can this help me to overcome sciatica?
I haven't heard that specifically but some studies that suggest it might.
@@JTJaredTaylor how should we consume it? As a meal supplement ?
@@Arceej249 You can. I usually take it in the morning in a greens and berry shake which is basically my breakfast. Sometimes I just add it to an herbal tea and take it around the same time I eat. It doesn't HAVE to be taken with a meal but you can. In short it doesn't matter so much if you take it with a meal or not. Just pick a time that you are most likely to take it consistently and do that. Hope that helps.
@@JTJaredTaylor Vital proteins or california gold nutrition?? Which is better?
En español por favor
I'm so sorry. My español is not good enough to do that.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…. 🤣🤣🤣
just eat meat.
Unfortunately that’s not true.

Who told you that lmfao that's not true @DanOneOne
