Such a great tutorial. Not just a wowzers tour. Some of the things I already do. But I like that he articulated the ideas as theoretical points. I'm going to definitely address the lighting over my dining nook next!
Love love love the pattern on pattern and not a plate on a wall to be found good job Vern. Also no blue toilet twall whatever they call it. awesome job 🤣
I LIKE VERN AND HIS TASTE BUT THE ROOM IS TOO SMALL FOR ALL THE FURNITURE& COLLECTIBLES. NYC APTS ARE SO SMALL& OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE. CAN'T BE A COLLECTOR IN SMALL SPACE- NOT A GOOD LOOK. LOL.
Yes, NYC apartments are small but Vern's place is perfectly designed for the space with enough colour and patterns, layered to give it a sleek city look. I think the furnishings and collectibles are perfectly suitable for the apartment.
No disrespect, but no. Just no. It's almost like a curse with interior designers and fashion stylists...they give amazing and often accurate advice, but the personal taste of many of them is more miss than hit...
Absolutely! As he was speaking I was just thinking the same thing. No... no... and no again. The pattern is just too busy. Your home should feel like a sanctuary, not turmoil!
You are so right. I just finished editing down all the clutter in my small living room. Looks much more spacious. Yip's space would benefit from fewer patterns... And please get rid of that schmatta on the dining table.
I urge you to buy a huge apartment in New York City without wanting to sell your soul to the Devil. This man's lucky enough to live right next to Central Park. It doesn't get any better than that in a city where your home address serves as a statement piece in your everyday life.
Pffft... you don't know shit. This condo is at least $3 million. And the monthly condo fee is probably like $5k a month. This may be small but it's PRIME real estate in NYC.
He could buy your whole block for the price he paid for this condo. This is prime NYC real estate. This apartment I'm sure is 3-5 million dollars. I live in NYC and would die for that apartment.
Wow, I loved everything he showed. The man has real class!
I liked the fact that he gave good design advice while he gave a tour of his beautiful apartment.
OMG!!! I miss seeing Vern Yip!!! He was one of my favorite designers on that show. He has such great style
Urban chic!! Loved Vern since his very very early HGTV days.
Gorgeous, love the layered subtle patterns

Beautiful property! Its pretty nice to see what decor skills can make in a smaller apartment! Such a lovely place!
Lover everything about this. Great use of space. Just lovely. Love the colors and patterns.
That was a crazy amount of patterns but I loved it! :)
Beautuful living spaces and functional. Beautiful views outside your windows. What a blessing every day!
I love Vern Yip's design aesthetic.
Lovely home, Vern. I layer similarly with tone on tone whites for my Shabby Chic decor. It makes me so happy and suits my budget and lifestyle.
Excellent combination of colors within a small place. Looks like a million dollar pad.
With Central Park views, it probably cost that much.
Soooooo TALENTED! love how he utilizes relative color palates with various objects that pulls and balances a room to amazement. : ))))
I love the big light fixtures! Am going to do that....thx, Vern.
I liked it. It shows how to fit a big life into a small space.
Love love love the pattern on pattern and not a plate on a wall to be found good job Vern. Also no blue toilet twall whatever they call it. awesome job 🤣
Gosh I love the beddings..that grey ikat bedcover, the striped pillowcases 😍😍😍😍😍😍
He was my favorite in Trading Spaces because he never did it for shock value with crazy colors or crazy anything .
I Love VERN YIP !!! You Everyday!
This guy has sick talent
I like your videos.
Gorgeous.
nice. and i see what you did there with the shirt and tie.
great
I miss Vern!
Loved 💕💕💕💕- "Ignore trend;" agree big time
It was a cute but maybe a little too busy. I can imagine with all that stuff and material that place needs a lot of dusting.
I love the floor. The rest is just too much grey.
All the patterns are making me dizzy.

Looks so crowded
Looks like a furniture store.
No no no!!!! Everything looks like it cane from ikea!! NO WAY I’m paying millions of dollars for an apartment to decorate it like that...
I really do like it. it's just too much greige.
..."now buy my book."
I'm mad at whoever did her nose job.

huberfloover EXACTLY!!! Well said..
Absolutely! As he was speaking I was just thinking the same thing. No... no... and no again. The pattern is just too busy. Your home should feel like a sanctuary, not turmoil!
Taste is a very subjective thing. He looks perfectly happy with the way he's done his apartment - that's all that matters.
Too much clutter!
Yes, way too much clutter. I thought a big rule of thumb in design is less is more.
You are so right. I just finished editing down all the clutter in my small living room. Looks much more spacious. Yip's space would benefit from fewer patterns... And please get rid of that schmatta on the dining table.
Stan je lijep ali je vise za muskarce
I ♥️♥️♥️ YOU VERN! BUT SERIOUSLY? I'm so disappointed 😣...very blah 😟 AND SO DATED!!!
Can't believe he was only in his mid 40s when this was filmed. He looks so much older. Asian men do age and it's harsh
Too crowded and crammed. I don't like
the entire place is overly crowded ...poorly designed...didn't do Central Park justice....a pity really .
ugghhh sorry what a cluttered mess! too much going on.......oye
UGLY, the most smaller apartment
