Great tips. I find that I walk around too long looking for a “perfect” composition (whatever that is LOL), and then I don’t take as many photos and thus don’t get as much practice with exposure, focus, depth of field, etc. So your tip to care a little bit less about composition is good for me. As you evaluate the technical aspects of your photos you will also learn how to improve your composition. But… you have to take LOTS of photos.

Also looking for a composition is a practice. It’s not easy to find a great composition and not all days are the same, so some days you see compositions everywhere and other days you can’t see a single composition. What do you want to learn more about the technical stuff?
@@JorisVanDeuneghem My biggest challenges right are nailing high dynamic range photos without having to HDR stack (mostly sunrise and sunset photos) and achieving sharp focus fron to back without having to focus stack too often. I’m experienced enough with general exposure, focus and composition but when I look at top level landscape photos those are the attributes that stand out. I am learning from you as well as William Patino, James Popsys, Nigel Danson and Mark Denney. So many fantastic UA-cam resources!
@dirkgibbens377 those dude’s are really good 🔥 it also depends on the camera how far you can push your raw photos. But like sunrise and sunset always expose for the highlights and open up the shadows a lot. For the sharpness it depends on the focal length of the lenses and also foreground elements, composition. I will make a video on those topics 😊

Hey Joris, heb nog steeds zelfde gear als jij, de 7200 en de tokina 11-16, alsook de 18-400 van tamron. Heb nu ook fujifilm gear maar als je jaren Nikon gebruikt hebt, raak je er wel moeilijk van af hoor. Dus doet deze video me weer verlangen om gauw het bos in te trekken en ook weer compo's te zoeken. Ben je tevreden van de 18-400? Ja eens je begint met een merk is begint is het moeilijk overstappen, je koopt van alle gear en dan is het wat zonde om alles weg te doen en een enorme investering ook om te wissel van merk. Dank je wel om te kijken Frank 😁
De 18-400 stelt me niet teleur, hangt natuurlijk van af hoe en voor wat je hem gebruikt hè. Is natuurlijk niet de vergelijken met de 35mm f1,8 of met een andere prime . En voor de prijs wel degelijke kwaliteit. Groeten Frank
@alstamarisphotography2797 ja zoom lenzen kan je niet met primes vergelijken. Ik was eerder aan mijn tamron 70-300 aan het denken 😁
