On this channel it’s all about landscape photography.
I really love photographing nature and also tell you what I’m doing on a shoot.
From time to time I will be combining some cityscape stuff with my landscape photography photos.
Every week or so I drop a new video and try to show new places.
For now the most videos will be made in Belgium, because I’m a Belgium guy 😁

WHY Did I Even Try This LATE Photography HIKE? (Long Exposure Struggles)

Long shutter speeds and a waterfall is a great combination for a photography hike, in a canyon in Belgium. In this video, I set out on a photography hike, but things didn't go as planned. I got a late start and ended up racing against the setting sun, losing light fast. Despite the challenge, I managed to capture a few long exposure shots of a waterfall and flowing water. landscape and cityscape photography in the early morning. Waking up at 3AM isn't super easy, but it's worth it. I like combining the city lights with natural light, it gives me a special vibe to see that in one photo. it's been a while that I used my 50mm lens, because most of the time I'm using my Tamron 70-300mm. Fun to change things up. The previous video was also in Germany and this was the...

Frensham Common? Isn't it techincally a field of view of an 80mm lens rather than a 50mm?
Subscriber 1000 :D The get away from SoMe and Instagram was a great tip. :) Nice pictures. Keep up the good work.
You are the best 😁🔥 thank you for watching and subscribing. Nice to know you like the photos 😁
Keep at it dude. Sometimes nature photos are about knowing the location and then getting lucky with the weather. And sleeping in the car during nature outings are the best. The nature looks mad unique where you're at. Could spend a lifetime shooting at that location
Thank you very much for the kind words and watching my video. 😁 i didn’t know the location and i actually don’t go back a lot to the same place, i should do it more because i will get to know the good spots 😅 it’s a very beautiful location, i think I will go back again some day and I’m gonna sleep again in my car, but prepare better. Where are you from?
@@JorisVanDeuneghem The usa. I feel luckier since I don't mind sleeping inside a heated tesla during my campouts. It also helps with astrophotography starlapses since I can leave the camera on for 8+ hrs. I tend to go to the same spots over and over after I have a good composition situated. Some places are too far to travel so I can't always repeat the spot except the ones nearby.
@Teslien nice sleeping in a Tesla 😁 it’s not bad to shoot a lot at the same place, you learn what’s good and what not. Do you only shoot Astor?
@@JorisVanDeuneghem I shoot almost anything but I enjoy sharing the nature pics. More nature and sharing the goodness
Guess my photos have been mediocre because I was camping in a tent. In future, I'll sleep in my car. 😉
😂 a car does magic. Don’t compare dude I got lucky that day. We all have the chance to photograph beautiful photos. Thanks for watching 😊
Хорошие кадры. Интересное видео. Красивый лес - сказочный. Спасибо и больше удачных кадров.
Thank you for watching. It was super beautiful that morning 😁 I hope I can make more beautiful photos like those ones.
Staark bezig motsjen!! Over de 3k views!! Ge verdient da!

Love your channel! Greetings from Saugatuck Michigan, on the greatest of the Great Lakes. Lake Michigan
Thank you for watching 😁 some day we will visit Lake Michigan
@ absolutely. Let me know when you arrive, you could stay at my place. If it’s in the summertime, you can stay on my sailboat.
@tomboooty nice 😁 do you go sailing a lot? I’m not the best on boats 🤢 I don’t have sailers legs. It’s something we say in Belgium 😊
@ I go as often as I can. I keep the boat in the water from about April until October.. don’t worry I would only take you out in calm weather. Very easy sailing.
Is it tokina dx ii or the older version (dx)?
It’s the AT-X DX ll Nikon. The newer one is the plus F2.8 CF.
Great video! Stunning photos!
Thank you for watching 😊
👍👍👍
very amazing photos💗
Thank you Alina 😊 thanks for watching
Absolutely sublime and deeply inspiring.
Thank you very much. Thank you for watching. 😊
Agreed not to allow social media to influence you
It’s pretty hard to not let it 😅 I’m trying my best.
Beautiful photos👏
Thank you so much and thank you for watching
I started with a Nikon d3300 great camera, then l got hold of a D7500, l have other cameras but l sill use the D7500 mostly!
We almost started with the same 😊 mine was the D3100. For me the 7500 wasn’t a big enough jump to buy that one. The flip screen I’m jealous of 😂 next camera has to have one. What kind of photography do you shoot?
@ l love landscape especially woodland, but l also love wildlife! The trouble Is wildlife ie birds needs faster gear so lm trying to have decent gear without breaking the bank!
@neilcole3406 ooo yes that’s a nice quest to get your hand on great gear and not spending to much 😁 I’m happy my biggest passion is landscapes, I don’t need super fast gear 😂
Glad to see you using a reasonable priced camera, you really don’t need to spend crazy money on gear to enjoy photography!
If you don’t print you photos super big or you print never like me, you don’t need the best camera out there. I think it’s more years of experience that helps making better photos and not expensive gear. As long the D7200 keeps going I will use it. 😊
Very nice. Hope the night in the car was comfortably 👍🙂
It was horrible 😂 I had so much cold. We have to learn out of our mistakes. Next time I will bring a sleeping bag and maybe more. Thanks for watching dude.
A gel battery pack and a heating blanket is what you need for comfy car BnB.
What’s a gel battery pack? Yes that heated blanket would’ve been super nice. 😂
Do your own thing, you will get there!
Thanks 😊 I will keep going
Great video. Very enjoyable.
Thank you very much for watching. I’m super happy you like it. 😁
LOVELY VIDEO! i am super guilty of doom scrolling and letting it affect my psyche when out doing photography. good luck with the channel mate!
Thanks for watching. I hope you can do it a bit less, but I think we all are guilty of doom scrolling. I know it’s not easy to stop it. For me it helps to change the stuff that i see.
I really enjoyed your video and photos, thank you!
Thank you for watching. And it makes me happy to know you enjoyed my video. 😁
Loved this.
Thank you 😊 it was a fun experiment. I want to do it again, but than at night and have stars in the sky.
Great images Joris, keep up the good work true content not messed about with. The same camera as me too!
Thank you so much for watching Martin. You also photograph with the Nikon D7200?
@@JorisVanDeuneghem HI Joris, yes i do for many years now, taken many thousands of images and always been very happy with the performance. A lot of my friends have the latest gear but to be honest for the money involved don't see the advantage. Keep up the good work cheers!
@martinheathcote6010 that’s the problem for me to, it’s way to expensive to switch and dump my gear that’s still doing the job. It would be fun to have new gear, but spending so much just to have something new is crazy.
Absolutely great images Joris. I’m seeing too many fake images in social media so am really focusing on UA-cam. You really are a great photographer so keep it up and just do you👍
Thank you so much for watching Andy 😁 I was super lucky with those conditions. It was a bucket list photography moment. It’s the first time that I was able to make woodland photos with mist.
Those are fantastic photos, taking a break from social media can only give you more ideas and boost your creativity.
Thank you for watching 😊 yes it feels good. But sometimes I need social media to get ideas 😂
7:54 photography is a love connection you develop with your subject. Forget about other photographers, techniques, equipment. Embrace your subjects like if they’re part of your life. Art comes from your soul, which in turn will connect with other souls alike. 👍
Thank you for watching Pedro 😊 sometimes we need to go back to the roots when we started with photography and just enjoy to be out and take photos. Now I pressure my self to make “good” photos for my channel, but it’s impossible to make good photos every time. But that morning was really great 😁
Really nice images and video, well done
Thank you so much for watching. I was very lucky with the conditions that morning. It helped a lot to make nice photos 😁
Man those conditions are amazing, well worth the sleep. Great job. Would love to have epic fog in a proper location too 😂 I’m jealous of your shots and conditions! I think I was like you at some point, I always think my photos are not as good as what I see online, or I am not good enough to be a professional or even share my work online. But just remember that a lot of these people probably do it full time where they can keep chasing for best conditions every time. You’re already great and as long as you enjoy your work, stop comparing! Always remember, people just share their best work online 😁 just keep it up buddy.
Thanks for watching buddy and really nice words 😊 you are absolutely right, we only see the best online.
Love the photo at 6:05. Great video and photos. 👍😎
Thank you so much for watching 😁
Man. Hands down amazing!! Spectacular compositions!
Thanks Darryl 😁 and thanks for watching
Splendid images, Joris.
Thank you very much Morris and thank you for watching 😊
Splendid images, Joris. Rest assured, you are a very good photographer 😊.
Thank you 😁 every time I go out I always hope to shoot amazing photos, but that’s impossible. We can’t have always amazing conditions to photograph 😊
Hey brother, Watching this at the moment. I totally felt what you said about looking at other photographers on social media and feeling a bit down. To be honest with you I feel the same way sometimes but then I remember about the good old days when you just go out and just shoot for yourself and no matter what you see was a good photo. Keep doing what you're doing and go out and shoot no matter what because that's the whole point of photography. Just to go out to shoot and enjoy it
Dude I also feel the same with you 😂 you got a lot of photos that I think, I’m not on the same level like you. I’m trying to get my self in that mindset to make photos and don’t care about what people will think, but that’s not easy. Specially with UA-cam I always want to provide my best, but that’s impossible because not every day is a day with amazing conditions. We are doing great Amaurie and we just have to keep going out and enjoy 😁
Not at the moment. Going to have heavy rain and winds tomorrow as a storm is coming in from the Atlantic. Going into Newcastle tomorrow for a drink with friends. Been sub zero every night this week. Keep up the good work Joris. You are very talented.
Have a great time John. I hope we all will get some snow 😁
Never compare yourself to anyone else. Concerntrate on your own environment and landscape. Beautiful photographs can be made literally anywhere. Your photographs are fantastic. Do not doubt your talent. Admire your dedication sleeping in your car at this time of year. It's bloody freezing here in north east of England. Great images Joris.
It’s not always easy to not compare your self to someone else, but it’s getting better 😁 I also put some “stress” on my self, because I want to show nice photos in my videos, so you don’t watch my videos with bad photos in it. And I know it’s not always a great day 😊 it was super cold that night and it wasn’t freezing. Do you have snow at the moment?
Such a peaceful video with the birds and the forest
It was amazing. I’m happy I cloud take photos with those conditions. It’s been the first time I took photos in a forest with mist in it. 😍
Weer een prachtige video
Dank je wel om weer te kijken. 😁 het is een van mijn mooiste ervaringen.
Awesome job bro!
Thank you for watching dude. I’m glad you like it
Next time bring a headlight that has a red setting instead of your phone, makes you look more pro 😂 (also helps keep your eyes adjusted in the dark) pretty cool stuff seeing you do astro dude! Great stuff. That waterfall photo is worth revisiting and maybe align it with some nice constellation (is Milky Way shooting possible there?) 😁 Will we see more night shooting attempts from you? Looks like it’s still pretty dark, compared to the dark sites here in Hong Kong.
I have one but I didn’t have new AAA batteries. My preparation was super bad, but I learned for next time 😂. I have one other shoot in mind with photographing the stars, but don’t know when. I need to do my preparation very good for that one. Yes where I shot now was pretty dark, but I need to drive 2 hours to photograph the stars.
Great shots! Love the results. Let's see some more editing sometime!
Thanks dude. Maybe I will
Prachtige foto's. Bedankt voor de uitleg
Dank je wel en graag gedaan ☺️
Super cool!
Thanks buddy
what camera did you use to record your camera?
I’ve been using the dji osmo pocket 3 for some months now. Fun little camera.
it is a very cool video! the tripod looks pretty good
so amazing video
Thank you for watching Alina 😊
Nikon D7200 is still good in 2024 ❤❤❤
You are absolutely right
Lately, I haven't been using my Tokina 11-16mm for daytime landscapes. I've been using it at night to capture the Aurora because it's my only lens that can capture it. However, I can't shoot it at 11mm because I do see a green halo appearing at the top. Zoom in to 12 or 13mm and it works well at night.
I never used mine so interesting for night time photography, so I don’t know if I have the same problem. I guess it’s an amazing lens for night photography because it’s so light sensitive. I also don’t use that much anymore in my photography, but making videos like this helps to use it again 😁
@@JorisVanDeuneghem It's my only lens that's wide enough and fast enough to capture the Aurora. Although, the trade-off is that, other than the green halo at 11mm, there's a lot of barrel distortion on the edges.
@MSmith-Photography isn’t that easily corrected in post? I know it gets soft in the corners and there is almost nothing you can do about that. I’m not a big pixel peeper so I’m not looking to much at the corners.
@@JorisVanDeuneghemIt can be corrected in post, but it takes more work than I'm willing. The Lens Correction feature in Lightroom doesn't do a great job of taking care of the distortion, but does a great job of correcting the Chromatic Aberration.
Finally a new video! 😁 those are some nice conditions. Beautiful mist and colors. Think the lens is too wide for me 😂 you know I don’t like going wide 👀 though going wide and being really close works well sometimes, use that distortion to the fullest. Nice tripod. It’s got all the interesting stuff. How heavy was it?
It was a nice morning. For street photography it’s indeed not a great lens. It’s just a fun lens to be creative in a landscape or it’s good for architecture. The tripod is just under 2kg.
@ yeah I wouldn’t use an ultra wide angle for street (though might be a good challenge 😂), but even for landscapes I find myself seldom wanting to go really wide these days, except for a few compositions.
@CluelessUA-camr I also don’t use it to much these days. I’m more using the telelens. It would be a difficult challenge I think for street photography.
Joris if you want a great cheap macro lens get the Tokina 100mm F2.8. It is a superb macro lens and also can double as a very good portrait lens. I use it on my D7200 all the time. You can pick it up pretty cheap on MPB. Great video as always. Regards.
Thanks for the tip. Around €200 for the lens at mpb. I don’t think I will buy it, because I almost never photograph so close. Maybe when I try it more I will buy one 😁 thanks for the tip and also thank you for watching again.
