As the crisp winter air wraps around us, I'll be taking you through my carefully crafted setup for photographing some of the most delightful feathered friends that grace our island haven. The stars of today's show include the vibrant Blue Tit, the majestic Great Tit, the charming Long-Tailed Tit, the elusive Wren, and the ever-so-fast and busy Goldcrest.

Not done at all with this video yet, but I can already tell from the smile on your face, Frode, that there should be some nice birds coming out of this. 👍
I have no hide or similar and I usually come out fine. Do you experience a big difference when you have the hide up? I see a great effect from just being silent, slow and fluent, and utterly patient - at least with the most common small birds. I can understand that if it works - you do NOT change it at all.
I have a full on ghillie suit, but when I have been in situations where I have been putting that on I have had deers at like 15-20 meters away, staring at me like "Do you really think that will make a difference? I smelled you 1km ago and now you are putting this stuff on??" And while I'm busy fiddling with such gear I can't really shoot.

Sorry didn't see your questions! I now I say hide, I but you'll see in the video I just sit behind a camo blanket! 🙈 😅 And I experince the same as you, it works very fine just being quiet (and obscure my profile a little bit). And I definitely like to sit free and open and not in my hide! I feel I loose much of the experince being out in nature when I use the hide.
Just one question, without going through the video again to try to find it ... what is your winter birding setup ?
