Now here I am again. So if Scott Weiland has been about celebrating his up and coming birthday,,,,, 🎶Happy birthday to you Scott!🎶 Another sad story of someone taken way to young. He will have been 56 this coming October 27th. Such a loss. He was so talented from beginning to the tragic end. He changed his vocal sounds from the classic deep "yarl" to a higher more gritty sound with Velvet Revolver and then a deep smooth "Bowie-ish tone. I loved each and everyone of his styles. Rest Easy Scott. You will never be forgotten.

Layne was a statue on stage but his voice commanded your attention. Scott’s stage presence was second to none when he was at his best. They’re both great in their own way and I can jump back and forth to each depending on the mood. Layne is different in that his downfall was more private so we didn’t see him at his worst. Scott unfortunately became the rock cliche in front of our eyes. Both are tragic. Sorry for the novel response lol. Like you, it’s just my opinion. Both deserve more recognition than they get. It was indeed. I followed his career very closely from the moment I heard ‘Plush’ in 1993 right up until his tragic passing. He was always my favourite frontman and he released so much amazing music during his lifetime and for that I am very grateful.
How the fuck did I miss this. I saw STP live in Durham NH with a buddy of mine and we were the only black guys there. We stood right up front and Scott did everything. We were smoking cigarettes and he literally breathed in our smoke while dancing that dance of his. He was right up in our faces and it was so fuckin cool. I wish he knew how much none of that shit mattered and that he just thought he was super cool because he was an amazing writer and singer. But I write better on drugs too.

By the time you’re in you mid 40’s it’s hard enough for most men. Time really catches up to you. For Scott that was too many years of poison in his veins. Still the greatest of all time in my opinion. With the the 3 best and most underrated musicians of all time behind him. The wonderful thing is his legacy and art he left behind will live forever.
The producers or Scott were so unsure of his vocal ability they had him singing with Autotune and that's what hurts most of about watching this version. You can tell he was trying to turn his health around he doesn't have that sucked in cheak look he had during the Velvet Revolver days.
I love STP but i can't do Scott's live performances. He is an entire octave above what he did on the albums. Grunge keeps me engaged with the deep sorrowful vocals. I wonder why he switched to such a higher pitch in vocals. Maybe it's just me, but I find the deeper notes easier on my voice. Layne Staley had the same issue. All love and respect though, they are legends

We survived an attempted (prank?) carjack in my little blue 1972 Volkswagen Beetle at a gas station leaving a club in downtown LA in 1990. This guy pulled up in a pickup truck full of drunk crips in the back. They were out for a good time. The guy who was trying to drive off in my car couldn’t move my seat back (I was paying for gas; Scott was high AF in the back seat) and I yelled at him to get out of my car. He laughed and went back to the pickup truck. We were leaving an underground rave, Dr Seuss on the Loose, on our way to see Scott’s girlfriend Maryanne Healey (see: Big Drill Car) dance at a club, Fountain and Normandie I think? This is so hard for me to watch. His teeth are fake. I don’t recognize him here. I just can’t. “just drive, Mo” said Scott
Of course, Scott by this time hadn't the same voice he used to have by the time this song was released. However, he did gave a very nice performance. If you compare this with the one from 2015, you can defnitely see his decline. So sad. Rip Scott Weiland
