I was using Revo, the reason I liked Revo as it would scan the drive and registry afterwards to remove all the junk left behind. This may do that, I'll give it ago. 👍

I guess you could say this old guy went extreme?... I deleted Windows and installed Linux Mint 21.3. Wow, who'd a thought, I'm still alive. After surviving the abandonment issues because I can't upgrade to W.11 Home on this laptop, I actually, in spite of MS, get a lot of work done every day. Not to sidebar your episode, I guess you could say I checked all the boxes for removal. Love your channel and sincerely I thank you for all your shares and expertise.

I upgraded to Windows 11 when it was released on my unsupported laptop straight from Windows 7.. The laptop, a Dell 3521 which came with windows 8.1 accepted Win11 with some registry tweaks and I loved it after debloating with some program similar to this in the video.. it was even activated by Microsoft, but lately I fell in love with KDE Plasma, which is my preferred OS currently.

@@AnthonyElsom we are very lucky to have Linux as an option. If it can meet your needs, plus the privacy and no pop ups and adds is a total win, when people make the switch.

Thanks Brian. It would be interesting to compare with Revo in order to see if any registry remnants are removed. Have a great weekend my friend.👍👍👍

Very good, but I have a few questions. What do these apps mean and do? HEIF Image extensions, HEVC video extensions from the manufacturer, VP9 video extensions (VP9)? Web image extensions, web media extensions, MPEG-2 video extension and Windows web experience pack (looks like spyware to me). Thanks Brian, keep up the good work!

All of this is a waste of time because once you do windows updates all these programs come back. I’d rather use the simple command in power shell then use a third-party that I don’t trust. You seem to use a lot of third-party software.

Since I did all those Apps Privacy hacks in Brian's other Privacy video, I find that I'm getting a lot less junk or spam email.

  • @michaeljavert4635

I use that. It will uninstall Edge, but Microsoft doesn't stop Edging you anyway, so it will come back. I've found to use a program called Wise Uninstaller. I can't remember if I paid or not but it doesn't seem I did, and I think IF I did, it was not very much and a ONE TIME, charge. Not a reoccurrence. It did get Edge uninstalled. Then I go to C:\Program Files (x86) make sure the Microsoft folder is empty, and encrypt it so that only YOU have access to it. Do the same with folder that says Internet Explorer, and that should keep Edge out of your system, even when doing an update. Internet Explorer and Edge are conspiring with each other to aggressively reinstall one, when the other is removed. I don't know what their fetish is with Edging us, but I am tired of it.
