No one beats you when it comes to music choice for videos. They're always perfection! I've already had dinner but after seeing the tilapia, I have no choice but to make that for dinner tomorrow. Oh, and I'm enjoying the change of pace.
Morgan, your videos are so captivating. Your voice, your story telling, your music choices always work beautifully together! I have yet to ever click on your videos and been the slightest disappointed. Your scenery, and videos of it are just breathtaking. Sending much love from across the pond.....~Winona
Such a beautifully made video about this enchanting area of the world! And a special thank you for highlighting the history and legends along the Rhine ❤❤
Lovely editing and entertaining video as usual. Keep up the great work 👍 I've done a few Ocean Cruises and a video like this is making me look at river cruises. Thank you 😊
What a lovely experience for you to share with family! Glad you did lots of day sailing and could watch the sights go by; I`ve watched some river cruising vlogs where they just seem to sail at night. Beautiful, and great music as always!
This is the first time I have seen a review of Nicko Cruises. We would go once a year for years and years on Nicko cruises. It all started because the Germans had the best prices. We would always book the tour package and the drink package and found it to be a bargain for what we spent our money on. The food was always good and so was the service. English wasn't a problem on the river ship as all the help spoke good English. The only problem once in awhile was that many of the Older Germans didn't speak a word of English, but that was only because after World War II; they didn't get a chance to learn English in the elementary schools as they do now. Our last trip with them was a few years ago. It was a two week tour from Passau to Constanza, Romania where they went down one side of the Danube and came back up the river on the other side getting off in Passau. We found that the Germans didn't want to be stuck in Bucharest and have to find their way back home. The tours were excellent. The only problem was that the boat was so crowded with people which made the tables in the dining room stuck too close together. This made it difficult for the waiters to serve food if you weren't sitting where the waiter could reach you. We would order our tickets on their web site, and converse back and forth with the women in the office at Stuttgart when we had questions. Nicko bought all of Peter Deilmann's ships which we started with. Deilmann was a German 5-star line. Also, only the Germans are required to take out trip insurance on their cruises. If they can't go for some reason, you are fully paid back for what you have spent or can choose another trip. You won't get this with the Americans. It happened to us because the Elbe during that year was at low water levels. We choose not to get our money reimbursed to us, but go on a trip to Rugen Island and back to Berlin. It was a seven day trip and one I would recommend.
What a lovely way to spend time with your mom and travel together. The scenery is amazing. Thanks for sharing with us. That gondola did not have a Mary approved FLOOR !!!
Morgan this trip brings back memories of my bus trip i did back in 1981/82 Through,France Netherlands,Germany I visited Boppard did a cable car ride over grape orchards ( cable care was awful very old fashion and mine got stuck 😱 i am scared of heights 😅 took ages to get us back to Ground🫣 We had a boat trip along that stretch to the Lorie & i did that Trip with my hubby ,kids & my Belated dad & mum back in 94 . Was a wonder trip both times, yes those castles are just stunning 😍 .thank you for showing . Hope your Mum & partner you both had a fantastic time 🥰 Have a Good weekend 🥰
@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides The cable car stopped but it was rotating back & fore 🤢 We were told once they got us back down that the connection where the cable ran was blocked reason why we were rotated/ swinging . So as you can guess i Never step on a cable car again🫣.
I cannot wait for the rest of the series. You did such a nice job of showing what a riverboat cruise is like. What line is this? We are from the USA and I doubt I'll ever get to go on this cruise so I'll travel with you and your family. Thanks for all the explanations.
5 or 6 years ago we did a Danube, Rhein, Kiel canal river cruise, Budapest to Amsterdam with Avalon Waterways. Being dedicated ocean cruisers we were a bit apprehensive as to how we'd like river cruising but we loved it. It's a different cruising experience with smaller passenger loads, less space in the cabins, and fewer activities but the ease with which we made new friends and built in shore excursions were more than adequate compensation.
I just returned from a Danube River Cruise from Budapest to Regensburg plus 3 nights in Prague at the end. I was on Gate1's Manarch Queen. It was delightful. The Rhein River is next on my bucket list! Other than the 19,000+ steps I took on most days it was so relaxing! 🥴 The movement of the water is good for the sole! ❤️Great video!
I’m watching this from Switzerland on vacation. Have been blessed to see the Rhine River in person having gone to the Rhinefalls, Enjoy you regularly from the US but feel even more connected now. It is my first trip to Europe.
Those scenery videos are so guten (good). I am impressed by your skill of the 360-degree camera and noticed that the "stick" is edited out. Is that a trick you do or something about how those extended poles work? Overall, the Rhine looks so pretty and glad you all had a good time (and more shots of Markus in there too)!
That's just kind of how the poles work. I still have a lot to learn about the best way to use it, and what NOT to use it for, but I'm really happy I got the camera. Thanks for commenting!
Thanks for another great review! My wife and I would love to try one someday, but just getting to Europe from the US West Coast is so expensive (we are "fluffy-sized" folks, so really need extra big seats like 1st Class).
Thanx for a great video. The note says 1 month ago….we embark on our first Viking River cruise 9/16 (Amsterdam to Basel). What was the month of your trip? I’m concerned @ low water but it did not look like you had that issue!!
Enjoyed your travelogue. I watched another video of yours in which you compare another river cruise company with Nicko. This prompted me to check out Nicko’s offerings. They’re considerably less expensive than Viking, AMA and Uniworld. I’ve already done four Viking River Cruises and would like to try Nicko’s Duoro cruise. I have some questions. First, do they communicate in English well enough for you to feel comfortable in every way relative to your cruise experience? Second, were your flights included? Third, since all their prices are listed in Euros, how did payment work? Thanks.
Great video Morgan. Can you tell me if Nikko cruises do everything like announcements in 2 languages - or more - or just English? Where do most of the passengers come from? Thanks!
On our Nicko cruise everything on the ship was English and German, but not enough English-speaking passengers booked excursions, so there were only German excursions.
You can smoke on the top deck in the designated area. I'm pretty sure if you communicate your dietary wishes to the cruise line in advance, they can accommodate you. Oh, and I have no idea about the beds! Sorry.
I just returned from a Danube River Cruise with Gate1Travel. I was a solo traveler and there were 4 other solos. Their ship Monarch Queen has I think 5 solo cabins which are smaller and only have high windows no floor to ceiling windows but those cabins don't have solo supplements. I wanted the view so I didn't book the solo cabin. I met so many nice people, some couples, some friends traveling together and yes the other solo passengers too. Next time I'll try the Rhine River!
hi i made always cruise ship travels i know only cunard allows dog on queen mary 2 transaltlantic i woud like to take my dog not very great behaved french bulldog on a cruise do you know if any river cruises allow dogs in cabin i woud like to cruise a route including Amsterdam or Vienna.
You may have addressed this already so excuse me if it is redundant. Why would you call the vessel a ship? I for sure would call it a boat. No bigE though. But inquiring minds want to know. Thanks

I agree, that Koblenz to Mainz stretch of the Rhein is so great.
Blessed to be cruising with your mom
Love this video. The castles are magnificent. YIKES; glass bottom gondola!!!!
The scenery is so beautiful. Looking forward to tomorrow.🙂

This was the Nicko Rhein Symphonie. It was great!
Thanks for labeling the food! Looks like a great option for a river cruise
Thanks for sharing Morgan

This video is so much fun and very interesting. I like the music also, well made!😊
Great video, music and info on the river cruise. I hadn’t heard of Niko cruises before so thanks for that.
I love the relaxing music as I watch the video

I like this style of cruising more about culture & history🤗
Thank you so much .. amazing footage!
I love river cruises and the Rhine is my next one. Thanks for the previews!!
This was an absolutely beautiful video!
Looks like a lovely time
Did the cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest in 2018. Thanks for the memories.

Norma! Welcome to Europe! I hope you’re having an amazing time.
What a great presentation......THANKS!!!!!
Great video, great music. Xxx
This looks amazing
We've been on Gate 1 river cruise this year and it was fabulous.
LOL @ the Soap on a Rope! I didn’t know those still existed!
As always, great video Morgan! :)
So beautiful
Wonderful video! We’re going this November. This is the most helpful & informative video I’ve seen so far. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I am really going to enjoy these videos! This river cruise looks glorious and you get to spend time with your mom. Awesome!
Thanks for this series. Very interested in the river cruise info, especially Nicko and Viva experiences.
Well done Morgan
Nice, I was able to see my house. 😊

Insta 360, can't see the pole
Your gondola video and music reminded me of an Epcot film!!

Cool soap-on-a-rope
Wine!!!!!! :D
I love it.. lol.. "a lot to say" :D

After seeing June 21st on June 14th, was anyone else singing 'Let's do the time warp again' from Rocky Horror? 😀

I TURNED OFF ALL MUSIC and than or so I COULD ENJOY THIS RIVERCRUISE of yours and I did enjoyed.

Can you smoke on board
Are there enough options for gluten-free and lactose-free meals?
Is there possibility for 2xsingle beds?
You can smoke on the top deck in the designated area. I'm pretty sure if you communicate your dietary wishes to the cruise line in advance, they can accommodate you. Oh, and I have no idea about the beds! Sorry.
Great camera angles! Did you use an insta360 x3? I'm planning to take my retired mom this Summer too after the Olympics.
Yep, I used an Insta360 for some of the shots in this video. Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
How can I watch this on June 14 when it says June 21 ?
He has a time machine? 🤷🏻♀️😁 Morgan is pretty cool, btw!
Oooooops!
Was this Markus' first riverboat cruise?
It sure was!
Hmmmm.... now you've got me thinking about a river cruise 🤔 Were there any solo travelers?
I just returned from a Danube River Cruise with Gate1Travel. I was a solo traveler and there were 4 other solos. I haven’t seen any dogs on the 3 river cruises I have experienced, and honestly, if the dog is not well behaved, maybe it’s better if he stays home!
You may have addressed this already so excuse me if it is redundant. Why would you call the vessel a ship? I for sure would call it a boat. No bigE though. But inquiring minds want to know. Thanks
Is it just me or do you sound unhappy or off your usual peppy self ?
Strange. I’m feeling fine! Maybe I was just a little calmer than usual?
