I enjoyed the video. We just got back o Friday after doing the Amsterdam/Basel 7 night Rhine River. The ships appear identical- we were on the Gersemi. Loved that Creme Brule desert!
Hi, thank you so much! This was the Viking Einar. We have been on multiple river cruises and can’t say that one ship is significantly better than the other. Some are clearly a touch older but they’re all equally comfortable.
Thanks for sharing these videos. My wife and I are going on this cruise next month. My wife is in a wheelchair. From memory, did you happen to notice anyone on your cruise who had a wheelchair, or mobility issues? For instance, by the looks of all that food, I'm going to need a bit of exercise getting up and down those stairs in the windmill, but I'll also be doing a fair bit of walking next to my wife. Would you say that at least most, or some of the places you visited off the ship were wheelchair accessible?
We hope you enjoy it! It’s going to be magical! The corridors were a bit narrow so wheelchairs might have a bit of a struggle. There was an elevator onboard so you wouldn’t have any issues getting to each floor. The ramp to get off the boat should be quite perfect for a wheelchair. It would be a great idea to ask to speak to the tour director when you arrive. There were excursions we did (like the windmill in Kinderdijk) which would of course be impossible to undergo as it was quite cramped in there and no accessibility adjustments could be made. The tour director would be able to tell you which excursions would be best suited for a wheelchair and which would be impossible to do. With proper planning in advance with the tour director’s recommendations, I’ll bet you will have a lovely time. Please check out our other video on this channel with the Christmas market information. I think you would be able to effortlessly enjoy each of those. The market in cologne was only 5 min walk from the boat. I would say it should not be difficult to identify an accessible excursion on each stop. There was plenty to see and do.

So glad to hear it! The desserts were so good onboard!
Great video! We did this in May….but I think I want to do a Christmas trip next!
If you can, you have to do the Christmas one at least once. It is pure magic!
Great videos showing the fun and unique aspects of Christmas Market cruises. What Viking ship were you sailing on?

A very nice video. I will follow along with your Christmas adventure.
Thank you, Mark!
Can’t wait for days 3 and 4!

@@KarinaAndJohn Thanks very much for your advice. This has prompted me to get in touch with Viking about a few details.
