As a lifetime LFC fan, great memories of a great liverpool team. Spurs had a fantastic group of players. They were an excellent side from 1981 to 1987. Keith Berkinshaw does not get the credit he deserves in Spurs history, especially during the early 80,s. Great players in Hoddle, Ardiles, Perryman, Ricky Villa, Archibald etc. They played some great football. Unfortunately they came up against a great liverpool team. Similar now to what has prevented klopps liverpool from winning more trophies due to Man Citys corrupt dominance.
Agreed that Burkinshaw doesn't get the credit his record deserves. Peter Shreeve did a decent job too at first especially in 1984/85 and Spurs were Everton's main challengers for the Title that season, despite Liverpool eventually finishing as runners up. He couldn't repeat that form in 85/86 and they brought in David Pleat.
I know they won the cup a couple times in the 80s but that Spurs team were unlucky. Not only in this game but in the league in 85 and v Coventry in 87.
that's a shame, my dad's been trying to find them, he found others like the West Ham one where we beat them the fall match, but this one, doesn't seem to be ne around at all sadly.

80s great memories.. YNWA
Between May 81 and August 82 spurs went to Wembley 7 times ...I saw the good times
Great memories. An era when the keepers all wore green, the numbers on the shirts actually meant something and the shorts took yer balls off.
That tackle, Souness on Gavin, both feet, studs showing, would be a send-off in todays game. Tough as nails back then.
That was my first Tottenham kit. I was 6 years old and gutted.
Good times!

So much better the comments by the winners and losers back then, than the incessant moaning these days.
Attendance for the 1982 Football League Cup Final was a sellout crowd of 100,000 fans.
Two proper clubs
The british football was better than now he had losing his identity
