TFTM FTW!
Was at this game. Shear Loyalty as I did not expect them to win . Small attendance but what a noise Was made.
Hansen's face whenever Hill is talking is hilarious.
@@gomey70 Even Spitting Image had Hansen and Hill on at the time. Jimmy Hill appeared less and less as a pundit after the 1991/92 season. His debate with Hansen about a penalty that should have been awarded in the 1992 Cup Final is worth watching. I think I have it somewhere in my collection. If I find it I’ll upload it.
Can you upload Liverpool vs Olympiacos 3-1 Champions League 2004-05 please? Thank you!
Horrendous how poor Liverpool were at that time. Souness was so out of his depth it was shocking. Alienated the winners in the team and blooded the young players in far too early to be first team players. Liverpool, as well as English football suffered greatly with the quality compared to European teams. They were ahead in terms of technical ability and Liverpool were light years away from that. Souness obviously knew the game was going like that from playing in Italy, but some of the shite he bought and bizarre decisions selling quality like Beardsley, Houghton and McMahon was a disgrace. He set Liverpool behind 10 years.
I agree. Souness seemed like he would be the dream replacement for Dalglish. I remember hearing speculation on BBC Sports Report at the time that Souness was in the shake up as a replacement for Dalglish following Dalglish’s resignation in 1991, but I never thought he’d leave Rangers. Souness believed that the training methods he learned at Sampdoria would translate to Liverpool easily but they translated to an injury crisis in 1991/92. Also, feeling threatened by or not trusting the senior players like McMahon, Houghton and Beardsley was a massive misjudgment. As was selling very good, experienced players like Gillespie and Staunton.
"Grade A crush barriers" A newspaper was found within the barrier with a date of 1931!!!
The DATE IS 100% WRONG. THIS MATCH I KNOW 100PERCENT WAS PLAYED ON 25TH OF APRIL 1987. I was at family wedding. My local supermarket owner Recorded for me .Also there was a concert in Ballymena County Hall There was a person or persons blown up at the border. THATS FACT.
@@erniescullion8452 The number 1 before April in the title refers to the Everton goal, not the date of the match. Liverpool 3 Everton 1, April 1987. My omission of a comma may have been confusing. I really appreciate your attention to detail 👍
I never went to football matches as I wanted to play football rather than watch. I ‘supported’ WHU when I watched on TV. I DID go to Anfield once (1985 last home game with a mate who was an avid Liverpool supporter). What a great atmosphere in the Kop. Anyway, I still like watching Liverpool in the classic era (can’t stand ‘modern’ football though)! This was a really interesting match and seeing a young team growing in confidence. Liverpool has had some awesome teams!
I was at the game….. when the 3rd went on I looked around in the Kop and with the flares etc it was incredible!!!!!
The british football was better than now he had losing his identity
people always talk about this Newcastle side being the "great entertainers". when in truth Roy Evans Liverpool sides, at their best, were far more entertaining to watch. Mcmanaman and Fowler at the peak of their powers. unbelievable players. just a top centre back and goal keeper away from winning the title this season. David James throws a couple in his own net against United a few weeks later and the rails come off.
What a match

Graham Kelly was definately in the right job - surely the most characterless human being involved in football
@@simonreeves828 I heard he cracked a joke in late 1985 but I’ll have to double check that for you 😄
😂😂✅
Surprising to see a Jack in the kop
That’s chivalry, honor, decency.
Grobbelaar is a lucky guy at Liverpool
Sometimes I feel that his huge personality was part of the reason he kept his place for a decade at Liverpool. No one had the courage to drop him. He was obviously very talented and produced some miraculous saves but seemed to lose focus at times and you’d have to question his impulsivity around the box too. However there were times when those same qualities came to Liverpools rescue too. Plus he always bounced back from a bad period, 1985-86 being a case in point.
@Liverpool FC Classic - Could you possibly upload the 2004-05 to 2009-10 LIVERPOOL matches with Sky Sports or ITV or BBC MOTD Live Coverage please?
Hi Nicky I hope to upload the 94/95 season review soon.
@@LiverpoolFCClassicVideo - Well what about the years I've asked about?
@@nickyhaugh2390 Sorry I misread 04/05 as 94/95. No sorry I don’t have anything from those years Nicky
@@LiverpoolFCClassicVideo - You mean you don't have anything from 2004-05 to 2009-10 whatsoever?
@@nickyhaugh2390 No. There’s so much already on UA-cam from that period so I don’t record anything any more and haven’t for a long time.
thanks for upload
These 2 teams provided the 2 greatest PL matches I have ever seen. The PL was much better to watch up until 1997.
Yes it was proper old school 4-4-2 no tactics and percentage football, 3 msn midfield, inverted full backs, goalies good on football, no percentage football
I miss the presentation of the fa cup draw
Have you got any games from the 2000s or the 2010s
Not as many but I’ll keep digging!
108 dead?? The youngest victim was 10 years old, not 8.
It's very rare that I come across a video about the Hillsborough disaster that I haven't seen before. This is one of those videos. Thanks for the upload.
I can remember watching this in me uncle's coz he had sky and we never at the time brilliant memories
As a lifetime LFC fan, great memories of a great liverpool team. Spurs had a fantastic group of players. They were an excellent side from 1981 to 1987. Keith Berkinshaw does not get the credit he deserves in Spurs history, especially during the early 80,s. Great players in Hoddle, Ardiles, Perryman, Ricky Villa, Archibald etc. They played some great football. Unfortunately they came up against a great liverpool team. Similar now to what has prevented klopps liverpool from winning more trophies due to Man Citys corrupt dominance.
Agreed that Burkinshaw doesn't get the credit his record deserves. Peter Shreeve did a decent job too at first especially in 1984/85 and Spurs were Everton's main challengers for the Title that season, despite Liverpool eventually finishing as runners up. He couldn't repeat that form in 85/86 and they brought in David Pleat.
So much better the comments by the winners and losers back then, than the incessant moaning these days.
Thanks him so much keep the uploads coming. Have you got any more from the 80s?
Hi Anthony. I'm glad you're enjoying the content. I have a few more from the 80s alright and some ideas in the works around particularly significant events of the time. I uploaded a couple of games recently that ran into copyright issues so I'll try again soon. I'm on X/Twitter now too. @LFCClassicVideo

Have a niceday. Watched your next nice video and enjoyed. So like and thanks from me Baku city
I went to this game. 32 years ago. Can't believe all them years gone. Don't remember that the crowd was so sparse that night. I stood on the Kop next to the Kemlyn Road stand. I was 21years old. A lot has happened for Liverpool since 1991, but, the best Liverpool teams were in the 80s. I'm sure we would have won at least a couple more European Cups in the year's that we were kicked out of European competition and that Everton team could quite easily have had a good go the year Steau Bucharest won it, but for the English club ban.
This is wonderful to see again. My 5th youngest brother got Married this day. . I'm the youngest. This is sweet . Thank you.
You're welcome.
Liverpool sure did boss this game
